  • Could be you are just fitter now. I often feel the same way you do and have done a second workout later the same day but then the next day been worn out and over tired etc. Think it could also be from the buzz exercise gives, where you feel invincible (I get that with running sometimes.) Anyhow, sounds pretty normal to me…
  • I only log planned exercise too. Think the advice of putting your status to lightly active if you are walking between places etc is sound :)
  • But the OP wanted to burn 1000 cals within an hour and she is of slighter build than yourself I believe (though I may be wrong) therefore she'd also burn less calories doing the same exercise in the same time window (unless she was faster lol) The burn varies from person to person because of build, speed etc. Personally…
  • Never done a 5k race but my fastest outdoors is 34.30 (its trail and has hills, mud etc) and on the treadmill it's 30 (sorry not sure of the seconds)
  • Not sure it's possible to burn that in an hour
  • Thank you!!!!!

  • I vary, as do my workouts. Think that actually helps not get bored lol here are a couple I work through: 25 mins on each of the three types of ellipticals crunches Squats (both weighted) Strength on weight machines (lat pull downs, bench press, leg press, leg extension, arm extension, arm curls) I tend to always do the…
  • I didn't say I did 4.5mph for 9 miles - my point was more try and up the speed vs add extra miles. And personally I'd not class 4.5mph as running, jogging perhaps but that is irrelevant. If it helps the OP my walking speed has also increased since I started to run too. My post was only meant to encourage the OP because I…
  • OP, I've been running only slightly longer than you, so I can relate to your desire to improve both speed and mileage. However, my advice would be not to rush it - just because you can half kill yourself and manage 9 miles doesn't mean you should. You should set yourself realistic goals, most days I run 5k and then do some…
  • So glad I asked about this. I won't lie, it was very disheartening after getting to my goal weight to see the scales tell me I was heavier, but it's a comfort to know these fluctuations are normal. I'm still going to aim to loose another pound or so - try and have my goal weight at the centre point of the fluctuations…
  • Thanks guys, you've backed up my own thinking on the matter. I assumed the fluctuations were water etc etc but I suppose reading from some that they always stayed the same weight got my head bent lol. Just needed confirmation that what was going on with my body was normal, for lack of a better word.
  • If you don't eat enough your metabolic rate slows down which means you burn calories slower. Exercising speeds that up and burns calories quicker BUT to be able to have the energy to exercise you need to eat enough calories. I'm no expert though lol. Often I'm at a calorie deficit myself, I exercise after dinner and then…
  • Well done, way to go :D
  • I struggle most days to eat my recommended intake of calories and then I'm told to eat more due to exercising when I was struggling before then too. Basically I've cut out junk food but I've never been big on large portions of food in the past it seems, just the snacking on all the bad stuff. Any top tips for foods etc…
