Great suggestion, thanks! I would love to inspire people to get out there and just take a walk. Exercise doesn't have to be hard. Once you get started its fun.

I agree. Now that it's colder in the mornings, I have to really psych myself up to get out there and walk! Getting my butt out the door is hard some mornings, but I talk myself into it. I guess that's what a lot of people think about when they ask if I had to exercise.

Being a Christian, and a walker, I love the Kim Alexis workouts. She arranges the gospel music in a warm up, get more intensive and cool down order. Plus she throws in some Bible verses, and encouragement along the way. I love praising God while walking!

Seriously! I walk my poodle two miles a day, and it's the best part of the day! I feel energized, and victorious and my dog loves it too. I hit the gym twice a week for a little weight lifting, swimming, but not too much. It's the consistent walks that are really paying off. What's not to love?

I'd love to be the 20-22% girl. I want a toned athletic look, but not overboard. I'd love to have nice cut looking arms and a flat stomach, and defined calves. That looks super healthy!

Wow! So many awesome posts! My mother being in a wheel chair with all kinds of health problems related to obesity did a lot to motivate me. Also I was miserable with sore knees, sore feet, gastric reflux, irritable bowel syndrome and fatigue! Feeling so much better now!

Start with Lentil soup, otherwise called Dahl. It's very filling and satisfying. Avoid the naan, poori or chapati because those carbs will kill your diet. They love to fry things too, so ask how the dish is prepared. Don't get stuff with cocount milk in it. Try a nice vegetable curry, and skip the white rice. Indian yogurt…

Thank you! I love the steel cut, but never have time to cook them in the morning I'm adding apples, pecans, cinnamon, honey!

Awesome thread. Thanks for posting your picture and your weight. My sister said the same thing to me the other day. I texted her a photo of me in my workout clothes. I'm 5- 7" and weighing about 205 right now. Size 16 is bagging. She said no way did I look like I weighed that much. The scale does not have the last word on…

Pray. and Pray some more. God is still with you and if He is for you, who can be against you? A walk around the block or a good sweat in the gym may be just what you need. Mentally, I feel better with exercise. Feel free to add me and check out Fit4Him.

Just to let you know, I've lost 56 pounds on Herbalife. The shakes are a good tool, but not the magic bullet. I've won the weight loss challenge in my group twice in a row. I use the shakes for their protein, ease and convenience. They are packed nutrition wise and cost much less than junk food and being fat! I feel better…

What matters most is how you eat most of the time. Don't kick yourself over it. Keep being positive and look at the weekend as a learning exercise. I remind myself of how I slowed my progress the last time I binged, and it keeps me on the straight and narrow. Sometimes, however, we all need to let loose a little and have a…

As a fellow business owner, I can relate. I had a customer break a chair too. It's highly embarrassing and you don't want anyone suing you because they got hurt at your place of business. You have to protect your business, so you'd best reinforce a chair or two for larger customers. When he arrives, kindly offer him his…

Yes, anything with sugar in it is danger to me. I won't walk down the grocery store aisles with cookies or treats. I won't go near the ice cream freezer. There are NO, ABSOLUTELY NO, sugary snacks or soda in my home. If I go out for a meal, I say no to desserts or teats, unless I have planned to have one. I allow myself a…

Sugar is a drug to me too!

Focus on the joys of the journey. I've lost 53 pounds (about 2 per week). Focus on the joy of being able to say "no". Think about little goals like logging in every day, exercising, feeling better. Don't let negative thoughts in. Every day that goes by and you are eating clean and exercising is a victory! Don't look at the…

I do Herbalife shakes, twice a day and they are amazing. They taste good, curb the cravings, and are high in protein and a lot of other stuff that is good for your body. I mix it with almond or soy milk, add in some blueberries or a little of some other fruit and blend it up.

will someone please tell me what "Bump" means?

Hey! I've lost about half of what I want to lose! I can't believe I'm already here! Two pounds a week adds up quickly before you know it. My advice is to look for small victories to celebrate every day. Don't looks at the whole journey in one lump. Inch by inch, it's a cinch, yard by yard is hard, mile by mile will take a…

First thing in the morning is best for me. I like to get out and walk my dog and then head to the gym to do laps, or jog on the track or use the cardio equipment. That way I can get my shower, get on with my day. If I don't put it first, it doesn't get done. Sometimes I can add an evening walk with my dog which is a nice…

It sounds like you are searching for your "want to." Everyone needs a good reason to go to bed hungry, skip dessert, wake up early and exercise, eat tofu etc.,. You need a very good reason and you need to remind yourself of it often. You also should write it out and post it on your mirror in the morning so you can read it…

It's really encouraging to hear that! I walk my dog every day and I walk fast. I work up a sweat and even run a little now. I often wonder if walking is enough. Everyone seems to think you have to go to the gym to loose weight. I do swim and a little resistance training, but my favorite is the walk!

oooh. Wii has zumba? Maybe I should get one. Does anyone have any opinions on how much exercise a Wii really provides?

Actually moved from XL to just Large. There are pants that I can't wear anymore because they are falling off. Biggest victory is the joy I feel when munching on a salad at lunch and popping a few raw raspberries for "dessert."

I got them during puberty. An incredibly unfair result of a speedy development in my bustline. They have been gone for years. Not entirely, but so faint, that you'd have to look for them to see them. Hope this helps.

 Love it! Dogs are the best!

How do I add pictures to my posts? Seriously, I can't see it!

The clothes thing is hard. At first I didn't want to buy anything to wear. But I went down from a size 22 to a 16 at present! My pants were literally falling down. Moving in the baggy clothes is annoying and I got sick of looking so bad. I really need to look nice because it's encouraging. We have a great consignment shop…
