  • They are exaggerated examples (fat content) of quality vs. quanity that someone gave me - literally, no one would eat that much of course. I apologize for not researching the numbers more. Thank you for reminding me why I generally avoid the boards.
  • For the most part I've learned quality vs. quantity. While there is nothing wrong with what you are doing, you are apt to be able to eat more if you make healthier choices. Here are a few examples - 100 baked potatoes = the same amount of fat as 1 ounce of potato chips (an average handful) 1 scoop of french vanilla ice…
  • Like you, I have been down this road many times. While I really wanted to lose weight, I wasn't setting reasonable or sustainable goals for myself. I have followed every "program", "food plan", fad, diet, trend, restrictive, low cal, low carb, you name it, I've tried it. I started out great, for the first week or two and…
  • Don't put so much pressure on yourself with a deadline. If you are truly committed and setting reasonable and attainable expectations (and eat) you will get there. Be patient, honest and accountable. Just start, and take what you get for your event. By the next one you might have already exceeded your first goal. Good Luck!
  • There is no regulatory body that governs sizing of anything. This explains why if you try on two pairs of pants, exactly the same size, style and make and they fit differently. Kind of like your weight. Don't let the numbers get to you.
  • I can honestly say NOTHING tastes as good as being self confident and happier - and that's exactly how I'm going to be......just as long as I stay away from everything and anything TOFFEE, CARAMEL, SKOR, CRISPY CRUNCH, CRUNCHIE, SPONGE TOFFEE BLOCKS, WERTHERS, ALMOND ROCA......OMG! I need to go for a walk now! lol:happy:
  • With all due respect, after looking at your diary, that is the least of your worries. Looks like weekends are a free pass for you, you don't log at all and when you do your intake is all over the place. I wouldn't worry about the maybe 150 calories you ate. If you are truly committed then log what you eat everyday, measure…
  • OMG! Don't listen to this. A pound is a pound is a pound! Whether it is bricks, feathers, fat or muscle = a pound. Muscle is leaner than fat so it looks smaller. http://uberhumor.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/yudCd2.jpg
  • If you want results be patient. It hasn't even been a week. If you meant the Friday before, it's just been over a week, not enough time for some. Take measurements, don't use the scale or if you do, a good measure is once a week first thing in the morning. I didn't creep too far into your diary but considering your…
  • You do all know the original OP has deactivated her account - must not have liked the song choices:sad:
  • Don't get in the habit of comparing yourself with other people's progress. Everyone and every body is different. You will do great if you are patient, accountable, measure yourself and your food, move as you are able and drink water. Taking your measurements is a better measure of success than the scale. Good Luck!
  • Oatmeal protein pancakes - I posted the recipe a little while ago - looks like a weird combo but delicious and about 60% protein. I freeze them, pop one in the microwave and eat it on the way to work if I'm running late. I've made them into waffles before and toasted them instead. Good Luck!
  • Just remember this feeling next time you go for the chips instead of the veggie tray!
  • Maybe more! I think thats a picture of your dad in the before... .
  • The Good News - you look fabulous and proportioned and your back and shoulders are doing the happy dance! The Bad News - I found them.....and your tummy, your, thighs, your *kitten*.....you can have them back if you want them......Iol!
  • If you are following MFP guidelines there is already a deficit built into your daily intake. This is based on what you initially entered into your goals and profile. It is recommended that you eat the calories earned through exercise.
  • Congratulations! As far as weight gain goes, sometimes this is just out of your control. Having had five pregnancies (Im not just tooting my horn)just relax and enjoy. Great that you want to try to eat healthier but I would not concentrate on your weight. I am diabetic and regardless of how much I ate, moved, healthy…
  • Don't give up! It seems like forever but it has only been a month and you are doing fantastic! This time next month you'll be glad you kept going. You don't need to limit yourself to salad and veggies. There is no reason you can't have anything in moderation - just be honest and accountable but overall make…
  • If this isn't something you would be willing to do everyday for the rest of your life then don't do it. A diet is a diet is a diet. Make a permanent, sustainable, lifestyle change. Much easier
  • Concentrate on the 60+ pounds you have already lost! If the scale can set you off that easy then don't use it. Don't use frustration, small or no numbers as excuses - use it to motivate you to move more! You got this!
  • Don't stress the little things - some people's pet peeve is their significant others never want to do anything with them, yours does. Don't think of it as an ulterior motive, just a nice evening out. If it happens too often, a polite no thank you would probably work. You can always edit your food entry.
  • Congrats on logging in 365 in a row - that in itself is commitment! You look lovely and should be very proud of yourself!
  • Seriously?!
  • Quite simply "Garbage in - Garbage out"
  • Lot's of things aren't fair - don't sweat the little things! It's not a contest or a race and while he isn't supporting you now, hopefully he will appreciate your efforts when you get where you want to be. If not, so what - you did it for you:flowerforyou:
  • It's no different than anywhere else you would go that has temptations. You just have to say no to yourself. I think the difference here is that because it is your mom, you take it as a personal sabotage attempt or giving you no support. Everything around us will remain the same while we try to change ourselves,…
  • Well then, sounds like you have it under control - good luck!
  • If you do a "search" of the boards you will see.........
