Wheatgrass is a great and easy way to get nutrients! I drink it daily!

Whoever has the highest percentage of weight loss should win....that's how they do it on the Biggest Loser. That's fair for everyone involved.

I got my Polar FT4 on Amazon for only $54. It's a basic model, but does everything I need. Before I buy anything, I always check the reviews on amazon.com, even if I don't get it from the site. I think you'll find helpful info there!

Welcome to the world of vegetarians! It's great!

Team 14...let's go! SW:179

There's no reason for the injections....if you're only eating 500 calories a day; you'll lose weight. Is it healthy? NO!

12 to a 2 is a very long way to go! Congratulations on all your hard work!

Ooh, ooh, I want in!

Have you read Crazy, Sexy, Diet by Kris Carr? It's an awesome vegan based book by someone battling cancer. She's very inspirational and says she's never felt better in her life. Best of luck!

I have seen many reports on the HCG diet and it's not safe. The drops make no difference-like someone said earlier; you are starving yourself. This can cause major disfunction in your body including basic brain functioning. I agree with the other posts; healthy diet and exercise is the only way to go!

I'm in Texas and am also a teacher. I understand about the high stress for 9 months! In meetings, the administrators literally throw candy at us....

It's okay. If you want an awesome pro-plant book, try Crazy, Sexy Diet. Tons of info, but reader friendly!

I want in! 30 pounds is my goal!

This sounds fun! I have to wait about two weeks for the doctor to clear me for exercise, but I look forward to participating in the future!

All the vegetarian/vegan books I have read really discourage you from buying the processed/chemical foods (i.e. Boca, Morningstar). I agree your best bet is to make from scratch. I've seen burgers made from sunflower seeds, but I don't have the recipe. Sorry! Two awesome books I've seen about the "healthy vegetarian/vegan"…

You're absolutely correct. The advertising companies are totally misleading the public on what is healthy. The FDA doesn't help much either!

Yes, you can have too much protein. It can cause stress on your kidneys and liver. In college, my nutrition professor told us that most Americans eat way too much protein. Of course, I know there are different opinions on this!

Yeah, I'm a teacher and I think a lot of teachers struggle with their weight. In my faculty meetings, the principal gives us tons of chocolate because she sees how stressed we are! The meetings don't help!

it's the same old story....burn more calories than you eat daily. Eat a balanced diet & when you "snack," try to get the best bang for your buck. I'm also a teacher and I know how busy teachers are (& stressed!), but try to work out at least 30 minutes daily!

Read your profile-being vegan is hard, but so healthy!

Being a vegetarian, I always have carbs, but make sure to eat something with protein before working out. I don't have a post workout meal. Depending on the time of day, I don't eat again until lunch, dinner, etc. (Maybe a small snack-just depends!)

Color Me Vegan is an awesome book and gives suggestions on many soy free recipes.

I can totally relate to your post. I was overweight as a child and have never been a super active person. In my early 20's, I was my thinnest & that is all due to exercise. I would do the Leslie Sansone DVD's 4-5 days a week and that maintained my weight. Did I like to exercise? No. Do I like to exercise now? No, but I…

Weight: 170.4 Goal: 135-140 Workout: 5-6 days a week (ideally 60 minutes) *step aerobics *Leslie Sansone DVDs (I have a ton-big fan!) *Jillian Michaels 30 day shred *debating about joining a gym, but don't want to get stuck in a contract!

I appreciate you organizing all of this for us! Thank you!
