This happens to me as well. Start incorporating some of your healthy habits back into your routine. It may seem daunting if you look at it as a whole, so try to tackle one thing at a time. If you start to feel overwhelmed, just take a moment to breathe, think, and prioritize. Hang in there, and feel free to add/message me…

In high school, I managed to get down to about a size 8 after being heavy my whole childhood. Even then, at my smallest, I still felt pretty big. I was active in as many extra-curriculars as my schedule would allow, and therefore didn't have time to sit around and snack all day. A decade and around 80+ lbs later, here I…

Similar story here. I topped out at 260 and then was diagnosed with T2 diabetes a few years ago. I've been maintaining around 230 but I really want to get down at least 50 lbs more (but I set my goals at 5 lb intervals to keep from feeling overwhelmed). Feel free to add me!

Yes the Protein Bar is great, and is fairly priced for being in downtown. If you will be in the downtown area, there is a deli chain called Mac Kelleys. They have self-serve salad bar where you can get lots of fresh fruit and veggies. It really depends on what area you will be staying in. The ultimate goal will be watching…

I want to get to a weight/build that will mean I no longer have to take diabetes medications, and I am healthy enough to be pregnant. To me, I envision that being around 160 (on a 5'2" frame), however I'm going to see how things are around 175-180. I'm not sure what size that correlates to in terms of clothing, but I know…

I like to bake fish with olive oil, tomatoes, garlic, and onions, seasoned with a little Adobo.

I'm in, gotta weigh in. Will reply with an update. Similar goal for me, 10 lbs in 6 weeks, which will be right before my birthday 7-11. :-)

Update: Someone new in our company came by my desk earlier to ask if I'd walk/jog with her since it will be her first 5K. I thought it was really sweet of her to ask and I couldn't say no. Thank you all for the support. I'm going to go for it and just do my best. :-)

I recently fell in love with Zumba after I started going to classes as a result of encouragement and great advice from the mfp community. I would like to go 3-5x per week, however the LA Fitness closest to me only holds classes twice a week as of now. :-/

Like previous posters, I'm a fan of blasting some good music to get me out of a funk. Sing (out of tune, who cares), dance, rock out, air guitar, air drums, anything to get me going until I can laugh at myself. You could also try writing out what's bothering you - a letter to yourself. Even if you end up shredding/deleting…

Thanks for posting! I'm at http://ikeeponmoving.wordpress.com, will be sure to follow your blog!

Right exactly, it's like I'm focused on the pyramid aka final product, but not noticing all of the blocks and work it took to put it together. I'm having trouble adjusting my thought process.

5'2"... with shoes on. :) 231 lbs currently. I'm in!

I've been about 230 give or take a few pounds for a while (hoping to end that soon). I use a Polar FT4 to count calories burned and it definitely helps. I took a 60 min zumba class last week for the first time and burned 700+ calories before the cool down song. My heart rate was also hovering around 180-190 the entire…

I was wondering the same because I have been having that almost charlie horse feeling in my right calf all day after getting back to the gym consistently this week.

Thank you all for the encouragement!! Update: I DID IT! and it was soooooo much fun!  Everyone's advice here was spot on. There were a lot of people who had never taken a class before so that made me feel less nervous. And we were all laughing and cheering in between songs while trying to catch a breath, sip…

thank you!!

I put it next to my mat once during a yoga class but it lost my heart rate halfway through. I might try the sports bra route though!

I get like this too, as another poster mentioned obsessive/addictive. The hard part for me is that I feel like it's always extreme. I'll get very motivated and focused to the point where it's all I think about, but then a slight derailment will cause me to fall of the wagon and completely lose interest for few weeks. Which…

I have the Polar FT4, which is what was recommended to me by a lot of users here. It's really easy to use and i love seeing the "calories burned". My only gripe is that, because I still have chubby forearms, the watch head makes it difficult to do planks, push-ups, etc. because it digs into my hand. It might be cheaper…
