  • @Leannep2201 welcome to the group! I hope the fertility doctor gives you good news.
  • @mebelfanti Congrats! That's awesome. That stinks about the nausea, maybe herbal tea might help? Green tea with ginger is definitely a thing and might be less "red flag morning sickness" than saltines would be.
  • My goal is to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day, to do at least 20 but preferably 30 minutes of exercise daily, and to keep my net calories in the green. My goal is set at 1420 cal/day but I allow myself to eat exercise calories if needed.
  • Hi I'm Rae. I'm from New Hampshire. I'm currently trying to work my way down to a non-obese BMI. I have 68 more pounds to go to get out of the obese range. I'm hoping a challenge will keep me honest and focused on my goals. I'm hoping to lose 12 pounds during this six week challenge.
  • @VeryKatie That is straight up creepy. Like I hope HR talks to your boss about what is and is not appropriate workplace decorum. There is no scenario when it's okay to get nosy about the details of an employee's conception. The whole "my prince" thing is also super weird, especially if this is not someone that you have a…
  • I am so pumped that it is the weekend. This summer has been flying by and I feel like there hasn't been time to do most of the things I wanted to do this summer. However hubby and I are finally leaving for a mini-vacation on Sunday. We're going to Bar Harbor, Maine for 4 days. It will be nice to get away.

  • @WifiresGettingFit Don't be discouraged, everyday is a new day to remotivate and get on track. I'm new to the whole ttc thing but this is by no means my first rodeo when it comes to weightless stuff. While it's easy to get mad at myself for letting the pounds creep back up after having worked so hard back in 2010 to get…
  • I'm so happy to have found this group. I've been looking online for the past couple weeks and I haven't been able to find a forum for people trying to lose weight BEFORE ttc and I was beginning to doubt such a thing existed. My name is Rae. I'm hoping to start ttc sometime next year, but before we try I want to slim down…
  • I'm sad that this group seems to be dead. I was so excited that there was a Harry Potter themed group.

  • Have you ever tried baked sweet potato? You literally rinse it off and throw it in the microwave for 6-8 minutes (depending on size) and bam there's half your dinner. Pair it with some boneless skinless chicken breast meat that you can easily and quickly season or bread in a myriad of different ways (use shake and bake if…
  • Is it possible for you to replace the binge eating behavior with a different one. Perhaps when you feel the urge to binge try chewing sugar free gum for a while. Since you have something flavorful in your mouthand you are continuously chewing you may be able to trick your binge craving away. My relationship with binging…
  • A shot of hornitos tequila, half a can of lime seltzer water, and a spritz of lime juice.
  • If you are experiencing anxiety and are fearful that you may backslide into your eating disorder it's important that you express these concerns to your doctor and to your family. Having open communication with your emotional support group during your time of transition into a healthy body is essential. Also remember that…
  • I'll probably have a grilled shrimp and veggie kabob, a burger, corn on the cob, and pasta salad. And homebrewed raspberry wheat beer of course! I find that if i do the kabob and pasta salad for lunch and the burger and corn for supper (bbq's usually overlap the two meals) my calories come out just fine. The trick is to…
  • My weightloss journey began April of 2009 I managed to lose 50 pounds in the first 8 months and I kept it off for two years. Life happened and I have since gained it allback and more. There is a lot I have learned about getting healthy since then though and this time I'm losing weight the healthy way. Things I have…
  • Sometimes accounatbility is the hardest thing. It's something I still struggle with but when I binge I try to make myself own up to it to either my sister or my husband and I make myself track it.
  • I will be comfortably under 200 pounds and I will be having my grudge match with a hike that was too hard for me last summer.
  • Protein sources could include ground turkey, tuna fish, greek yogurt, cheese, chicken, occasional red meat, and shrimp. Just to name a few. Even if you aren't adept at cooking or don't want to spend a lot of time you could easily grill up some shrimp with a bit of olive oil and serve that with your rice.
  • I find that if I don't track on my cheat days it can lead to continued bad behavior but if I do track than it stays just one day and I don't do as bad. I think it helps to set parameters for a cheat day too. Like rather than being a free for all maybe just give yourself 1000 calories more than you usually have. That way…
  • I can't believe this happened but I went over my calories by 65. Guess I'm out :(
  • January 12th Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes Did I exercise for 20+ minutes? Yes Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
  • My goal for the year is 155. My ultimate goal is closer to 140, but really size is more important to me than weight. I'd like to get down to pant size 8.
  • My dad was always very critical of me and my younger sisters for our weight, even when we only had a little bit of chub. He would randomly demand we get on the floor and do an arbitrary number of crunches. Which served only to make us hate exercise and have low self esteem. Meanwhile he would drink a gallon of whole milk a…

  • I'm not ready to do weights just yet (as I am still figuring out a cardio routine) but I hope to some day and I enjoyed your advice on the subject.
