That's what carpal tunnel felt like to me. When you do both Insanity and P90X, you do a number of movements that have your hands flat on the floor with your wrists at a 90 degree angle to your flat hand. Try to see if you can keep your wrists straight when you grasp the weights. When you do pushups or planks, grasp a…

Second on the Enell... totally worth it and will last you through some weight loss.

This is pretty consistent with my HRMs.... my 1st months were running about 600 to 700, my CCBs were running from about 400 to 500, and my 2nd months were running 800 to 1000. I think my HRM runs a bit high, however, so you might want to reduce by about 10% or so. (PS, I'm 43, 5 2 and have gone from 160 to 135 coming…

STOP! THE FACTS! THEY BURN!

MPF's number are notoriously bad so it may be that you are overestimating despite your best efforts. The TDEE method of determining your calorie goal is different than MFPs in that it calculates in your exercise on the front end. That way there is no guess work involved in the exercise eat back. Very Generally, your TDEE…
-
Is 1500 the amount MFP gave you? How do you measure your exercise calories to eat back? Have you figured out your goal calories using the TDEE - 20% method?
-
It's going to take a lot longer than a day or two before lower calories start effecting your metabolism, and even longer and more extreme than that before you hit starvation mode (like think, literally starving for an extended period of time). Just worry about getting better.
-
How are you determining how many calories you burn? If you are using MFP's estimate, they are generally not especially accurate. If you are eating back all your calories, you may be eating too much.
-
I would follow the general outlines of the nutrition plan, but that doesn't mean only using their recipes. I rarely use their recipes but they are a good guide for the kind of things that are acceptable. I would recommend following the 5 small meals a day recommendation with a general balance of 40/40/20, and mostly (but…

You are seriously doing Insanity AND crossfit at a 1000 calories a day. What is wrong with you? i'm 5 2, 139 lbs as well and I'm at 1500 on JUST insanity. And that's lower than the Insanity book recommended. And I'm dropping weight no problem. If I eat any significant amount under 1500 during a day and try to do insanity,…

MFP's method has you eat back your calories; TDEE -20% methods generally include the exercise calories in the calculation. So if you were doing 300 calories worth of exercise, you'd be at roughly the same number (if your BMR calculator was eventually working toward TDEE). Also, I think I read that lots of people set MFP at…

Realistically, I would wait a week. Your first week of insanity you will be sore. So sore you can't raise a hair dryer. If you are rushing, you probably want to enjoy it - and the food and everything else. It's not an excuse to wait forever, but a week isn't bad and hopefully rushing is an important, once in a lifetime…

Try adding another egg white and 1/2 cup more of milk.

I combine a 1/2 bar of nonfat cream cheese, 1 cup of nonfat cottage cheese, herbs on hand (parsley usually), a clove of garlic, some scallion tops and and salt and pepper in the food processor. Great dip or sandwich spread.

if you go online to title nine sports, they rate their bras by barbells. Look for "The Last Resort" - its the 5 barbell one. Enell also sells it directly online if you google enell. I just bought another one from them.

One thing to note is that MFP's calorie counts are particularly accurate and are often high. I think most people don't eat back all of them but maybe eat back half. TDEE is another method to calculate your calories. Google a TDEE calculator and find out what your TDEE -20% is ... that number includes your exercise calories…

stick with it. Believe it or not, pushing through even though your sore will help the soreness. Just go slow. I'm on round 2 of insanity, week 8 ... trust me. stay with the schedule. go slow. stretch well. drink lots. take some ibuprofrin. Just keep pushing play.

PS... don't get hung up on the scale. Would you rather lose 5 lbs or 3 inches off your waist??? Take your measurements, take pictures front and side. Don't weigh yourself every day, your weight will fluctuate and even maybe go up the first week as your body retains water cause its trying to figure out what the hell you are…

You can't keep up with them. Don't try - you will only hurt yourself and get discouraged. Go as hard as you can with good form. I'm finishing up round 2 now.. .I started at 160. You can both do this. Good luck!

we must be twins. Those are my migraine triggers and I was about to suggest the peppermint oil. The only other thing i'd recommend is something called Tiger Balm if you can find it. Friends from Europe got it for me but I rub it on my temples. I wonder if there is a US equivalent... anyone know?

This. I'm wondering if its better that you don't work out, etc. together. This has to be her journey on which she has he own successes. Doesn't mean you don't support her any way you can.

In terms of calories in and calories out.. no, that's just math I've found, however, that when I eat clean I can eat larger portions and be more satisfied and less likely to binge. It also means that I have lower sodium, so I retain less water. So for me, it helps, but its not absolutely necessary if you can control the…

You said: "Recently crossed from prediabetic to diabetic ....hence the diet!! THIS IS MY FIRST DIET...I have been watching what I eat somewhat over the last 5 years but I slip out of control fairly easily... " You are talking about all of this as if you just need to lose weight. You are past that now. Now you have a…

This... your estimations are going to be off, so you need to use the recipe function. In addition, the exercise calories on MFP are notoriously wrong, so if you are using that and then eating those calories back, you may not be at as much of a deficit as you think. Try doing the TDEE minus method for calculating your…

I probably wouldn't go over but I'd try to get close. Look at some of the posts on metabolic slow down... its real... starvation mode.. technically real, not going to happen to you.

Try going to 1400 or 1500 without eat back for a little bit and see if it makes a difference. I've been doing Insanity and the insanity diet guide put me at 1800. I've been at 1500 and its been working really well. I'm 5 2 , 42 yo and 140 now.. I started at 160. I like doing the no eat back because I'm convinced that…

do you have an evening yoga or a meditation DVD? maybe you can find a video or podcast or something on Netflix?

While the power of MFP is substantial, you may be beyond our reach ... in a good way! At this point, you might need to see a professional nutritionist to tweek your diet for those last few pounds. I work with a woman is was a professional fitness competitor and runner. She is literally trying to lose 3 pounds to lower her…

8 lbs on week 4 is really good.. that's not only? Did you take measurements. Do it now if you didn't before. You should, however, be eating more than 1200 calories. Did you do the calculation in the book? I'm 5 2, I was 160 when I started and 43. It put me at 1800. I had been at 1200 and am small, so I upped it to 1500.…

While I agree there is a balance to be found, if your goal is to lose weight then you need to put your thumb on the scale a little bit until you get to maintenance. If the Indian buffet is more important, that's fine, but your weight loss will be slower if not plateaued for a bit.
