  • I'm 5'6", 43 years old, weigh 146lbs, and wear a size 10. I have an hourglass shape, medium frame, and am happy at this weight.
  •
  • I've been making myself try vegetables that I've always said I hated, but using fresh produce and cooking from scratch. It can make a huge difference! I recently tried brussel sprouts, and they turned out to be really good (not at all like the canned kind my mom used to serve). It never hurts to give it a shot! My next…
  • This. We're all on a 'diet' if you want to get technical about it. And he obviously is just trying to get you upset so that you'll argue with him. Why give him the satisfaction?
  • I usually try to stick to steamed vegetables and grilled chicken. Keep in mind that sometimes restaurants add things like butter to their 'light' items to make them taste better, so you aren't totally safe, but it still seems to be the best bet. Salads are good too as long as they're not loaded down with croutons, cheese…
  • Yum! Sounds good!
  • Considering you said you're a huge chocolate fan and not allergic to peanuts, you might like the snack I recently discovered. I mix 2 tablespoons of natural peanut butter with a scoop of chocolate protein powder. I usually have to add a little water in order to blend it completely, which results in a frosting like…
  • I buy this: http://proteinplusflour.com/ It's like PB2 but with no added sugar or salt. It's great for shakes! I usually buy it on Netrition.
  • I also use regular peanut butter sometimes too, it just depends on how many calories I allot myself for that meal.
  • I use vanilla protein powder, peanut flour (like PB2) and chocolate almond milk in my oatmeal. It's AWESOME! You can also add some Hershey's cocoa if you don't have the chocolate milk or chocolate chips. A banana added to this is pretty sweet as well. Yum!
  • I recently tried Kale, and it tasted okay at first. But I soon found it to have an aftertaste that just wouldn't go away! Blech! But the one thing that will actually make me barf is horseradish. I can taste the smallest amount in a dish and it makes me hurl.
  • Jimmy Dean Turkey Sausage Crumbles are good in eggs. You could also chop up some veggies the night before, like peppers, onions, mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, etc.
  • I too have the Biggest Loser one, and I love it! At $20-25 online through Walmart, it was the cheapest one I could find with the best reviews. I agree that it makes a world of difference. How else would you know what 4 ounces of chicken looks like?
  • eggs (or egg beaters) - 6 grams per egg Dairy cottage cheese - 18 grams per cup cream cheese - 14 grams per cup yogurt - 13 grams per cup Legumes (nuts & seeds, beans) Red beans - 13 grams per cup Lentils - 18 grams per cup Pumpkin seeds - 12 grams per cup Certain Vegetables & Fruit broccoli - 4.6 g of protein per cup Med…
  • I use packaged frozen fruit a lot: strawberries, blueberries, peaches, & cherries. I also use fresh fruit when I have it. You can add fat free cream cheese and make it taste like cheesecake. If you peel a banana and put it in a ziplock bag, you can freeze it without it turning brown, and it's awesome in a shake (it makes…
  • Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Isolate - Vanilla Creme Calories: 130 Protein: 30 Carbs:1 This is the first one I've found that I like mixed only with water (as opposed to milk). It's pretty affordable too - $21.99 at Walmart for a 2 lb jug. It's a good basic flavor that goes well with just about anything.
  • Funkytown!
  • Every once in a while I make a vanilla protein shake with peppermint extract (blended with ice) and it always reminds me of those. Yum!
  • I like cottage cheese with cinnamon and a little Torani Vanilla Sugar Free Syrup or Splenda. Sometimes I also chop up an apple or pear to put in it, and sometimes some crushed almonds (or a combo of all). I also really love Sugar Snap Peas or red, yellow and orange peppers. Today a coworker brought chips and homemade salsa…
  • I also like to use Protein Plus Peanut Flour and vanilla or chocolate protein powder. Yum! The peanut flour is like PB2, but without sugar or salt added (and cheaper).
  • I was thinking the same thing! I make a little more than a quarter of that, and at 42 years old, it's the most I've ever made. But I can pay my bills and live independently – which is more than a lot of people can do, so I'm pretty content. Also, my job is relatively easy and low stress. I could be making more if I chose a…
  • I love it! I've had a friend tell me it sounded disgusting, but I just couldn't see how! Apparently it's not for everyone, but it's definitely my new favorite way to eat oatmeal.
  • Bumpity bump bump! Thank you!
  • A small banana and a tablespoon of peanut butter. That gives you carbs, protein and fat. Don't forget to hydrate as well. :-)
  • I'm not usually all that picky, but both the Walden Farms "Peanut Butter" and "Marshmallow Creme" went straight in the trash. Blech! Truly horrible! And as said above, not cheap either!
  • Fresh or frozen fruit and veggies makes up the majority of my food. Otherwise: Lean Protein: Egg Beaters Low Fat Cottage Cheese Fat Free Greek Yogurt Frozen Chicken Breast (comes in a big bag at most grocery stores, the store brand is usually very economical) Healthy Fat: Olive Oil Raw Nuts Avocado Carbs: Brown Rice Steel…
  • I always bring low calorie raw vegetables to work for that munching desire I get somewhere around mid-afternoon. I have a rotation of: celery, cucumbers, sugar snap peas, & red, yellow or orange peppers. You can eat a good amount of any of those for about 35 calories. I like to pair these with a wedge of Laughing Farms…
  • My favorite is Body Fortress Super Advanced Whey Isolate - Vanilla Creme. 1 scoop equals: 130 calories 30 grams of protein 1 carb It's the first one I've found that tastes good mixed with just water (to me anyway). I buy it at Walmart for about $22 for a 2lb tub. Supposedly, Whey Isolate keeps you full longer. But I seem…
  • Oh, also, I noticed recently that if you buy nuts in the bigger, more expensive bag rather than the round can, it's only a dollar or two more, but you're getting twice to three times as much. The cans are usually on the shelves at eye level, while the bags are up top where it's hard to see. I don't think that's by accident.
  • - Everyone has listed most of my ideas; beans, rice, eggs, oatmeal, frozen vegetables and fruit, but don't forget to check out the store brands, which can be much less expensive. - Check out your local farmer's market for cheaper produce. - Canned fruit & vegetables may not be most people's 1st choice, but they are cheap…
