  • Considering the alternatives like Bic Macs I'd say hell no! It's all good and much better for you as long as you stay within your calorie goals.
  • What a beautiful soul you've discovered hiding behind the weight! They say depression is anger turn inwards and I believe that the majority of our weight problemds are self esteem and emotion related. Good for you taking charge of your life (that goes for all of us here on MFP). When I look at obese people I simply…
  • Personally I love outside for the scenery, fresh air and change in terrain. Treadmills are great for rainy days. As a side comment I prefer brisk walking only. Much easier on the body (knees and joints) and still gets decent results. That and swimming are supposed to be the gentler forms of excersise. Just my opinion.
  • Most definitely sweet. Better for you. In fact if you had to choose a "white" potato..go with red ; )
  • ...and another thing...by tracking it you can see how much sugar is in other foods which can be a real eye opener to educate you in controlling it better. Then there's that whole blood sugar thing and insulin that I'm sure others will bring up.
  • I'm going to take a big leap of faith here and say that natural fruit sugars just aren't the same as refined or other processed sugars. In fact I'd chose fruit sugar over artificial sweetners any day but it's not the extracted sugars I'm talking about. Fruit is the whole package with the fiber built in to do it's job…
  • Might I suggest two great books that have helped me on my journey to loving myself? Simple Abundance - Sarah Ban Breathnach : This one is a daily journal to get you started on loving yourself and getting to know what you want and what you like. Self Matters- Dr. Phil: this one helps you to discover the key events in your…
  • Omg! I can't believe that was censored! maybe I spelled it wrong....*****willow?
  • "You are the ***** willow in the swampland of my heart!" yup true ! Someone actually used that on me.
  • Only if it were temporary and the pay was real good.
  • If you're serious about a healthier lifestyle why would you bake cookies in the first place? There's no such thing as willpower.
  • Well the whole concept of "snacks" and "snacking" change when you are shifting over to a healthier lifestyle. No snacking after dinner especially after 7pm. Snacks between meals are usually a carb with one protein to keep that full feeling. So for me it can be an apple and a hard boiled egg, or some other fruit or veggie…
  • Look at it this way, if you didn't work at a healthier lifestyle and weight, in the same amount of time it takes you to get 'er done, you would still be where you're at! Yes excercise is a fantastic stress buster, anxiety reliver, depression lifter in addition to calorie burning. How great is that?
  • Going for a brisk walk for 30 minutes every day was instrumental in getting me into a healthy lifestyle routine. Eliminating junk food from my diet AND HOME (cause there's no such thing as "will power") plus avoiding fast food restaurants and let's face it, restaurants period kick started things in a postive direction .…
  • Some oldies but goodies listed below get me jumpin' but everyone here seems ot have some great beats going on so I'll be checking those out as well! Thanks! Everybody Dance now - CC Music Factory I got the Power - Snap The Conga - Gloria Estefan Raise a little Hell - Trooper She's got the Look - Roxette Unbelievable - EMF
  • No remorse lately since I've been planning better and bringing my lunches. Restaurants are notorious for hidden calories and in my case "gluten". Even stopping in at a grocery store to grab a veggie and dip from the produce section is better than that, but watch the dressing!
  • I enjoy smoothies using whatever leftover fruit I have. Fr a good dose of the healthy fat I'll throw in an avocado for extra creaminess and for extra protein hemp hearts. Or I'll take vanilla yogurt, top it off with a few tbsp of hemp granola, died cranberries and walnuts.
  • BWahahaha! Thank God I'm not alone!
  • Bingo! I was going to say this is not about a wedding but about CONTROL. I also loved the response about kicking him out instead of the other way around. You have a daughter to care for so he's the one to leave and who should support both of you. If he does 't like it, the only other option is counselling.
  • Sounds like you are on the right path. Congratulations! Swimming will do wonders for overall toning.
  • I plan on getting myself one if only for the motivation to take more steps lol! They say if you can do 10,000 per day it's considered an active lifestyle. I've always liked games and challenges so watching numbers climb just by parking further when shopping or using a different washroom to add to my daily stride seems like…
