Sunday is my official weigh day, the only day that I log on weight into MFP. Sunday is a good day for me, as it is the start of the week so it is like a new beginning every week. Keeps me motivated for the previous weekend because I know I have to weigh myself at the end of it.

Say "no". Repeat if you need to. No one can do this for you but you so do some soul searching. Is your love for the wine greater than you love for your body? Then act accordingly. Hey, some days, it may be. Other days, it won't. Be. It isn't all or nothing. What works for you on Monday may not be what works for you on…

Thought is wasn't going to be a post about this type of stuff. You're killing plants to eat, so down from the high horse.
-
I think if you are eating meat, the animals were harmed.

Weight comes down to calories, period. You eat less than you burn and you lose weight. Health, on the other hand, is very different and proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, phytochemicals, etc. are very important. So, you can eat crap and still lose weight. But remember, that old saying still holds true: "You…

BS, totally untrue. You can get totally adequate protein on a plant based diet. I would question your "scientific studies". We're they sponsored by agencies promoting animal consumption - this includes the USDA.

I've really nothing to add regarding your question. I just wanted to say glad you are OK after your heart attack. God must have been watching over you! Make 2013 your best year yet!

Veggies. Greens, salad greens, legumes (I particularly like peas), nuts, beans. Berries like raspberries are loaded with fiber. Fruit also, though I tend to eat way more veggies than fruits. You should have no problems getting your, fiber up if you eat these things. Good luck!

I disagree with this one. I got rid of all my "fat" clothes and knowing there is not enough money in the budget to replace them is a HUGE motivator to "tow the line". But, realistically, you should do what you feel would be most helpful, but I vote for the "toss them" option.

You can do it! Want proof? You already started by joining in the MFP community! I didn't have as much to lose as you do, but I don't really think that matters. I think losing weight is hard for everyone, regardless of the amount. To lose the amount you have may take a little longer, but you can so do it! Believe in…

I can't help but wonder if you really didn't already know at! -400 + 300 is still - 100; how can that possibly contribute to fat gain? What was the real reason you posted? If you would let us know that, then maybe we can answer your real question.

You look great! Congratulations, looks like you've got this nailed down! Happy Christmas!

Thanks for sharing this! I've been trying to figure out for a long time what "heavy lifting" actually is! I've looked on the web, looked at the forums, but never really found out. At least I now know that I'm doing it correctly!

You ROCK! What more can anyone say?

Our brains are funny organs; maybe it is due to the fact that each single brain has two hemispheres. One with which we we analyze and one with which we feel. I'd also like to know when the "feel" catches up with the "know". I think it is common to have this dichotomy, but it certainly is frustrating. Maybe some brilliant…

You can put this in anything. I put it in spaghetti sauce when I make it. Does well in rice, mashed butternut squash, sweet potato. I've never tried it in things like eggs, but I've sprinkled it over salads.

I got his "Eat to Live" book a while back. There is a TON of information in that book and the first time I read it, I thought "This guy is NUTS!". I'm on my 4th time reading it now and I find that it makes even more sense, and maybe he isn't off his rocker! I've been trying to follow some of his suggestions, but I'm not…

Good luck tomorrow, I'm sure all will be fine. Got my gallbladder out years ago, never had a problem. Just take it easy while you recuperate.

As a "sciency" person, I think your post was great. And reading the original version was fine. Gee, what whiners there are on the site sometimes!

Vegetable protein typically doesn't come loaded with the saturated fats that animal protein comes with. That should help you decide which is better for you.
-
Snarky, really, is it necessary?
-
Dannon all way!

Think what you like, but saturated fat is not the healthiest fat. I eat fats, fats are important. But cheese has a very high level of saturated ft. Not hard to look up the medical studies. Fats do not require much work for the body in terms of "digestion"; they will never be negative calorie foods!

Sorry, can't help much, but I can assure you that you are not alone. I've lost, like, 35 pounds since May and I can't see it, either. Yes, the clothes fit better (well, actually, I've had to buy smaller clothes as my other stuff was almost falling off), so you think that would just scream "look at what you accomplished!".…

Sorry, wrong. I personally love cheese, but it is not healthy, so don't delude yourself into thinking that it is. Cheese is the most prevalent source of dairy fat and, therefore, the primary source of exposure to dioxin which even the EPA admits is the primary cause of Kant types of cancer (Charnley, et al. Human Exposure…

You appear to have done a great job, so why shouldn't that continue? Be proud of what you have accomplished!
-
I'm sure you will as well. Good. Luck.

No, I don't think I'm too fat at all. I feel good, better than ever, in fact. I was just surprised. This particular person is overweight (and says it as a fact), but I don't think my "thinness" or "fatness" really is anyone else's business. I'm glad to see that I was on the right track. Thought maybe I was being too touchy!

This is quite unfair and unnecessary. Anorexics are NOT "whackos". This reinforces something I have observed on MFP. You get a lot more support if you are fat trying to lose wait than if you are underweight and trying to gain weight. Being morbidly obese is bad, being underwent is bad. Doesn't make either individual…
