some people probably, I use it only when I scan a barcode and the calories are off and I write in my notes section what those calories are. Like today I had yogurt and when I scanned the barcode it was 10 calories off so I just quick added them and made a note of it. Not all people use that to "hide" food.

You have to send Polar's in to have the battery changed. Just to let you know. I have had mine for 7 years now and have had the battery and the chest strap checked by an authorized Polar dealer.
-
I have the older Polar F4 HRM. I love it.

welcome and feel free to add me. :o) I have 100 pounds I need to lose. I log on everyday. I am down 8 pounds right now. But I only weigh in once a month at Curves and that's how I track my progress and it works great cause I also get measurements taken too. I just started taking this serious within the last month so that's…

From polarusa.com website. Look for this to find a coded HRM. Polar OwnCode® (5kHz) – coded transmission Coded heart rate transmission automatically locks in a code to transmit your heart rate to the training computer. The training computer picks up your heart rate from your transmitter only. Coding prevents interference…
-
You don't have interference because yours is coded.
-
Coded means it will only pick up your heart rate and no one else's. Polar is good about telling you which models are coded.
-
<~~~~~~totally needs a nutritionist.
-
I also want to remind you that if you do go with a HRM make sure it's CODED!! if you do workouts in a gym or take group classes and other people have HRM on you will get interference if it's not coded. If you work out alone then coded isn't necessary.
-
I have an older Polar F4 and a fitbit ultra and they match up everyday. I love them both. They keep me motivated and active so I can reach my goals for the day.
-
that's an excellent idea!!! I might have to steal it for my own incentives.
-
and also wanted to add if you do any kind of group classes too it would be good to have coded.
-
I own the older Polar F4 make sure if you work out in a gym the heart rate monitor you buy is coded!! If it isn't you will get interference from other heart rate monitors and the machines.

Bardstown!!! :o)
