The last time I reached the overweight category was winter of 99, and I ended up right at the high end of normal by that spring. Hells yes, I did backflips! Life changed for me in ways I couldn't yet imagine. Been over a decade since I moved out of any obese category. I'm in the middle of Cat 1 obesity range, but I'll…

Congratulations on your transformation. You look amazing. I bet you feel better too huh?

I have been overweight most of my life. Back in '99, I started working on myself, and by spring of 2000, I was 20, and reached my goal of 185 lbs. That year was the best year of my life. I hope to make 2014 moving forward great years. My picture is from that summer. Only pic I have from that time frame.

5'11", 242 pounds. Waist, 39.5. Still working on it. Keep up the hard work. You can get your 27" waist again.

This is a tortoise race girl. No one ever changed significantly in two weeks. Keep with it. In the long run, you will see results. Don't worry about how fast you are going compared to anyone else. Your body is unique. Agreed, 2 lbs a week is excellent.

Yep, about a week to ten days. From being fairly empty to full, I can put on ten pounds of food weight. It comes off though just as easily when returning to normal eating levels.

^this It sounds like you have certain belief systems, and it wouldn't hurt to try and challenge those beliefs. Go workout, then look around between sets. You have to ask yourself, is what you are thinking actually happening? I would put money it's not. Once you can disprove old belief systems, you can develop new beliefs…

I kind of know what you are talking about. I used to be scared of the free weights section. All these thin, muscular people in there, and here I am, (at the time) a 330 pound fat dude trying them out for the first time in 8 years. Yes, it can be nerve racking, and down right scary. It's definitely a mental thing. The only…

I tend to eat what I eat, and just deal with the consequences. No real guilt with eating. I sometimes reflect on my food choices and think that I could have not eaten certain things, but I wouldn't call that guilt. Over the bigger picture, I'm still doing something good for my body.

I can't say I share your dilemma. Both my parents are very supportive of me eating better. I definitely feel for you though. It has to be tough living in a household where most of the food is unhealthy boxed garbage. Yep, time to get a part time job so you can buy the food you want if they won't get you healthier food…

You really changed your stars, that's for sure. Congrats for accomplishing this.

Heaviest: 357 lbs, Spring of 2012. Lightest: 185 lbs, Summer of 2000. Current weight: 243 lbs. Height 5' 10 1/2" Goal weight: 165-185, it depends. I've never really lifted when I lost weight back in 99/2000. Only cardio. I would like to get a six pack, big arms, lose the moobs, and less than 10% body fat.

Now that you have worked on your physical game, I highly recommend working on your mind now. You'll just have to politely fend off the ladies who are being too forward with you at the clubs. As far as complements go, a simple thank you will suffice. There are a lot of mental self help books out there if you need help with…

Just keep it out of the house, don't buy junk food. Buy healthier choices. Buy fresh fruits. If you want a treat, buy something small, have it, then get back to eating healthier stuff.

I was at LA Fitness when I started to go into the free weights section. I can tell you that I was reading a mental self help book, and there was something in it called the 3 second rule. If you want to go into the free weights section, make the decision in less than 3 seconds, then follow through with it, and like Nike…

That is great to hear. Glad you made it into the normal BMI category. So happy for you.

Go you. Everyone starts somewhere. Progress is progress!

Yes, you gained weight because the amount of rolling food in your body has weight to it. It's not body weight, but rather just food weight. I did the same thing experimenting with my body, and found when I went from 1600-1800 to 3500-4000 for a short period of time to do heavy strength training, I gained 10 pounds like…

Have you considered telling him to go to the store to get his junk food himself? If he wants it so bad, why doesn't he get it himself?
-
I have another 85 pounds to lose. :)
-
I would have to agree with some of the responses I have heard. If there are people who are being mean or unsupportive to your cause, then they don't really need to be a part of your life right now. Maybe you can come back and revisit relationships with them. Maybe they will change. Most do not. As far as the hubby, yeah,…

I got skipped. 7.8^

It may be possible, depending on circumstances. If you were once a heavy eater, the first week of going from heavy eating to a calorie deficit, you can lose quite a bit in the first week. I was watching someone on Extreme Makeover Weight Loss Edition, who lost 100 pounds in 90 days. It's not typical, but can happen. I…

Going to the zone, one of danger lmao. Yes, Archer is great.

Florida boy here. You're welcome to add me.

I did it. :)

I hope you find the strength from within yourself to achieve your goals. No one else helped me rise from the ashes but myself. Not some god, my friends, nobody but me did it.

I'm not desperate at all. Personally, I'm okay with just continuing to work on me solo. I know my fullest potential, and it's pretty awesome. This isn't my first weight loss rodeo. :) Just still a long journey, this one being longer than the other two times I did this. At least now I have the tools to make this time the…

It's an attractive quality when a person can take care of their body. It shows that you care about yourself. A woman who I was interested in told me this, and didn't strait deny me, but rather told me to continue working on me. Over the course of a year, I went from 310 down to a little over 200. Good enough to catch her…
