I just purchased this scale off amazon and it's under $15. Food scales are not as expensive as one might think- and this one gets great reviews. This and a set of measuring cups plus MFP tracking will be your best tools. http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B004164SRA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Sending you lots of love and a friend request. Your story brought many tears to my eyes and my heart hurts and at the same time swells with pride for you. So happy you've taken things into your own hands, and all those little accomplishements totally add up!!!

I don't think there's really anything I've cut out completely- just cut back. I was never a soda drinker, but I have significantly cut back on alcohol intake. I like a lemonade or tea once in a while and I have cut back on those too. I try my best not to drink calories because I just find it unsatisfying. I've cut back on…

If I'm hungover (which rarely happens these days) the only thing that makes me feel better is watching Winnie The Pooh movies. Also, I am a chapstick addict. No joke- I will start to panic if I realize I don't have one with me. I've been this way since high school.

I absolutely adore this! I have a pound puppy that my babysitter gave me when I was 6 or 7 that I can't live without.

Yoga mat, resistance bands, and 1 lb weighted yoga balls. All things I use in my barre classes and I can use them at home- they don't seem like much but used properly it kicks your butt!

I take barre classes 3 times a week, and though it's not traditional weight lifting, it's major toning. I love it. My muscles are getting stronger and as I lose the inches I see more defined muscle coming through. Something like that or pilates would be a good segway to start toning if you're unsure about jumping into…

Actually @JONZ64 is hiding the Wendy's girl- he's just trying to pawn it off on Fanta

I used to have the same problem. When I wake up in the middle of the night it's pee, try to keep eyes closed and in sleep mode as much as possible, head back to bed, big drink of water, and do a little mental meditation until I fall back asleep. Avoid the kitchen at all costs. For me it's willpower. Also, I take melatonin…

I'm so happy to hear this! I definitely need to keep working on core strength and losing the fat, but my belly is just driving me batty. It's just flab. And I'm terrified that even when I do lose the fat and tighten up the muscle I will have loose skin left behind. But one thing at a time... I'd rather have loose skin…

Yup!! I am washing 2-3 containers and 2-3 drink containers (smoothie, water, etc.) a night. Ugh. But whatever, it's a small price to pay for the end result.

Oh, and PS- once your body is used to healthier eating patterns, should you decide to overindulge in pizza or chinese food or whatever your "junk" food of choice is... I'm willing to bet your body is going to protest. I ordered chinese food last friday night and even though I ate less of what I normally do my body was NOT…

What I've found works for me is avoiding those "trigger" foods for a while as I'm getting into a pattern of focusing on healthy eating. Finding substitutes to help curb cravings when I get them. Once I feel confident in my new eating patterns, on occasion I will try the moderation thing, and I find it's much easier. One…

Wednesday wishes: 1) I broke my toe over the weekend and I wish it would HEAL QUICKLY like ASAP so I can get back to my activities like barre class and start out c25K now that my plantar fasciitis is being kept at bay! 2) I wish we were ready to buy a house, like now. Sigh. So tired of renting. I want my little guy to have…

I get the chili and put it over a plain baked potato. So yummy and filling!

Sounds like you have a few different issues at play here: 1) Your health and weight loss- changing your mentality is hard but it won't happen overnight. It takes lots of hard work and determination. Come up with a plan and stick to it. Reward yourself along the way. Be patient. 2) My greater concern is that you feel your…

I have a few. Planning is my biggest one. On Sundays I will make a meal I can portion out for my lunch for 3-4 days of my workweek- something simple like spaghetti squash with tomato sauce and chicken sausage, a salad with grilled chicken and beans, etc. I also will put together my snacks for the week- one thing that I…

I really don't drink that much anymore. Years ago when I was married my xH and I used to go through a bottle of wine a night, every night. About four years ago I wanted to lose weight in preparation of getting pregnant and cut most of my alcohol intake out then. Every now and again my GF and I will go out to a bar and have…
