I"m with you A.. Don't know of any scientific evidence of water increasing metabolism - certainly not to the extent that exercise and weight training can do. Water is essential to losing weight, but not as a boost to metabolism, more as a way to keep hydrated and prevent the buildup of water weight within the tissues.. jb

This hails back to the stage, when understudies would learn all the lines with the lead actor. If the lead actor could not act for some reason (ie, they had broken their leg), the understudy would take over the part.. jb

That is really discouraging.. I always thought that the calories burned were related to weight, time, and intensity. I wouldn't have expected the calories to fall off so dramatically over time. Honestly Laura, it sounds like your HRM was off. If I walked 40 minutes at an average of 3mph, I'm certain it would be more than 131 calories. What does the MFP exercise calculator give you for calories burned? I know it is generally not as accurate, but in this case, I would seriously consider checking.. In any case, nice…

OK, janiebeth did the 10 sit ups (well really 10 good crunches - I cant get all the way up). Sams says do air guitar and dance around like a rock star for 30 seconds.. jb

My husband and I have been using single wrapped lifesavers for a sweet treat. Just enough to get your sweet tooth satisfied, but not enough to add too many calories. JB
