No doubt...but wouldn't that BULK up her forearm?

Sounds like your alien friends are awesome. So you're saying I'm making this up just for my own amusement?
-
And you know this because you went to college with us, right?

My daughter (aged 6) has 1 lb dumb bells and they're blue. So she's tough.

I totally agree that no one is responsible for my obesity but me and the bad choices I made in the past. I did find this article interesting, though. It looks at the bigger picture of obesity as a public health issue. It's even affecting pets and lab animals in this country.…

Sounds like you're hungry.

Sorry, I didn't get that. :)

Probably. But her right bicep was HUGE before she realized what was happening. So she started alternating on every run to even them out. Stranger than fiction.

I don't think it's about getting stronger really quickly, which some do. I think the OP was talking about actually putting on bulky muscles, which MOST women don't. My college roommate, however, was an exception. She used to go running while carrying a walkman -- yes, it was in the stone age -- and she had to alternate…

After dinner snacking is my downfall. To me, it's been the hardest habit to break. And it's just that -- a habit. It's not hunger or some kind of nutritional deficiency. Working it into my calorie budget doesn't work because it's a trigger for over-eating and I don't want to allow myself that option. So...that said... The…

From Wikipedia: "Malignant narcissism has been described as "an extreme form of antisocial personality disorder combined with narcissistic elements that is manifested in a person who is pathologically grandiose, lacking in conscience and behavioral regulation, and with characteristic demonstrations of joyful cruelty and…

I like these: http://www.pureprotein.net/pages/products.aspx?sku=045887 They don't taste as bad as most, they have 31 g of protein and 3 g of sugar. I do try to eat as unprocessed as possible, though, and protein bars are processed to the hilt. These will do in a pinch, but much better to have a nice lean piece of meat. :)

Grilled steak, ratatouille, and green salad

Try LL Bean, too!

No, but fighting with my husband does. *sigh*. :(

I lost 6.5 lbs on vacation in South America this summer. Why? No snacks. When in Rome...

Congratulations! You've already gotten a lot of good advice but I just wanted to add one thing. You know that time after a meal when you're still sitting at the table and a smoke would be the perfect thing? Instead of fidgeting and having more food, take a plastic drinking straw and cut it down to the size of a cigarette.…

My father was French and my mother is Ecuadorian, and I was raised in the U.S. Outside the U.S., I lived in Brazil for two years (as a child), France for three years (young single adult), and Kenya for five years (married with a small kid). All were very different from each other and from the U.S. Language differences are…

I've had a "True" brand treadmill for years and I love it. I prefer the treadmill over the elliptical because I like to run. When the weather's crappy or it's dark outside, I just hop on the treadmill and get almost the same workout. I also used to live in an area where I just got way too much unwanted attention running…

Thanks for the suggestion! Definitely going to pick up some go lean crunch cereal next time I'm at the grocery store. :)

I agree with you. I think it tastes like crap and I don't know why people love it so much. I think if people took a little time to prepare fresh food, they'd quickly lose their taste for fast food garbage. But that's just me and my opinion...don't want to offend anyone! Lord knows I've done enough of that lately! :)

Cottage cheese, eggs, beef, pork, turkey....yes! Must watch for the fat though. Yes for beans too :) Milk...yuck. Cereal without milk is bleh. Thanks for the suggestions! Any more?

True. One of my dogs, a street mutt we picked up in Africa, was thin for the 5 years we lived there (eating home made "dog food" from local ingredients)...then got chunky when we moved back to teh U.S. (store-bought dog food). But what about the lab animals? Here's an excerpt from another article, more about the "fat…

If you like it, eat it. I took my daughter to a McD the other day and ordered a grilled chicken wrap. Personally, because 95% of the food I eat is prepared at home (and the other 5% is from good restaurants), I found that it tasted like crap. I took it apart and ate some of the cheese and lettuce but could only choke down…

I find steamed fish boring. Baked too, unless it's swimming in yummy white wine butter sauce, but then that kinda defeats the purpose. I like fish pan fried in a little olive oil with salt & pepper and some fresh herbs and lots of lemon. Salmon, trout, sea bass...those are the ones I cook at home most often.

No one interested? I think this says a lot about our "obesity epidemic" in the developed world.

Shell = calcium ...and crunchy! (kidding, but my dogs love them)

Someone who says something like that is truly unhappy and has some serious problems. Feel sorry for her and then forget about it and move on.
