  • Just a couple of weeks ago I got some bad news and all I could think about was FOOD...all day long at work....couldn't even concentrate because I just wanted to stuff myself! Instead of binging I wrote my husband a ridiculously long email about everything I wanted to eat and all the damn feelings...so many feelings. I'm…
  • I'm embarrassed by some of the things I've done to get the fix.
  • I don't consider that a binge. That's more like overindulgence. A binge is when you don't even taste the food, in some cases you don't even remember eating it -- you're overcome with feelings of anxiety and panic and you just stuff your face until you feel physically ill and your belly hurts and you can't move and you…
  • Yes in the U.S. Get a list of providers from your insurance company and start calling them. Just by talking to them on the phone you'll be able to tell who can help you. Yes, I know lots of tips and tools that help. It's stuff I've been working on for over 2 years -- can't really give you a synopsis of everything here,…
  • The only thing that has worked for me is therapy and lots of it. I see a therapist who specializes in eating disorders once a month. I'm patient, mindful, diligent, and I work very hard at it every day. I slip up sometimes, but I'm more in control today than I had been in many years.
  • This is great news! I love Tricare -- it can be a bureaucratic pain sometimes but I've only ever had positive experiences in my 12+ years of being married to an Army guy. 2 c-sections + 20 years of obesity - 120 lbs = tummy tuck fer sher ETA: I just finished reading the whole thread. For those of you who got back your flat…
  • Yes, maybe they don't even know that healthy food tastes good. Maybe they've never tried.
  • Wow, you're in a tough spot. I can't imagine how hard it must be for you to eat healthy, lose weight, and keep up with exercise when you're surrounded by three people who do just the opposite. So first of all, congratulations to you for taking charge of yourself! Of course you can't force your husband and kids to change…
  • 17.5% smaller than I think I am, and I lied about my location because I'm not in the UK (though I'm sure that doesn't matter). HOWEVER I think it's wrong. I think I'm actually larger than I think I am. I've lost a lot of weight and I my clothes are huge and I feel bones and muscle in places I hadn't felt them for a long…
  • I've been there too. I look at how far I've come and think "wow, I'm awesome!" but then I catch a glimpse of myself in the mirror and I know I still have a long way to go.
  • You've gotten some great advice already. I just wanted to add that it's hard to for people to give input when your diary is closed. I just have a hard time imagining that people have trouble meeting their calorie goals when I'm so hungry at mine and absolutely have to exercise just to earn a few extra. You might want to…
  • That's not a bad idea. I'd rather run outside, though. When hub gets back I can leave the kids with him and go. I'm not finding the time to do much weight training and I feel bad about it. hmmm...
  • Thanks lemon...and everyone....I just came on here to whine and complain but you guys gave me some good advice and I really feel like part of the community right now. Cheesy but true. Even the farty guy. :flowerforyou: LOL
  • No, I drink water like a fish. All day. Other than coffee, tea, and wine, it's all I drink. :)
  • Yes, I try to get protein with every meal. Don't always succeed, but it does help. I've decided...after I put the kids to bed I'm going to walk on my treadmill for a bit so I can have some cottage cheese -- lots of protein! :)
  • Heating up water for tea...even though it's 90 degrees outside.
  • *shoves a brownie in your mouth* and over your calories...*smirk*
  • olDER then...hehe...
  • That's a good idea -- I even have weights and a treadmill -- I'm tired but I really should do that...
  • Yes I weigh everything to the gram -- even vegs. With so little wiggle room I have to. Added fiber and sugar. Thank you for looking -- you didn't have to, I just felt like whining!
  • ooo that's a great idea!
  • Sorry thought it was open. Open now. I lose very slowly -- like 2 lbs/month. I'm old (48) and short (5'3"), so I really don't need that many calories. But I am genuinely hungry right now and just felt like complaining about it! Lol
  • There no way you ate 600 cals and had the energy to burn almost 300 with exercise. Your measurements are way off. How much weight do you want to lose? Are you weighing and measuring your food? How are you estimating your burn? How did you come up with the 1550?
  • 1) 48 2) 178 3) MD 4) Sedentary w/moderate exercise 5) 4-5 x week 6) Yes, Greek yogurt w/fruit, nuts, black coffee, 6) lunch 7) about 4-5 (3 meals + snacks) 8) ~ 50 oz 9) exercise, drink water, distract myself 10) some kind of meat entree, wine
  • I read about a comedian (can't remember who) who said if she wanted to lose weight in a hurry she'd cut off her hair and trim her nails.
  • I wish there were a "like" button here.
  • I'm sorry you've had these problems, but I eat a huge pile of raw veggies almost every day for lunch. No problems. I've been on WLS support forums and from what I can gather, problems like that are rare. Most people have issues with bread and pasta (doughy stuff), not vegs and fruit. I sometimes have problems with dense…
  • Thank you -- I really tried! :)
  • I'm so glad it worked out this way! Congratulations on seeing things clearly in the face of all that medicalese...that's not easy! It really sounds like that doctor's office isn't on the level. Also I'm so happy for you and your husband for communicating so well -- it sounds like you really love each other. It's great that…
