The refrigerator humming and the clock ticking. Excitement is over, new year is here. I'm going to bed.

I am 5' 2" and from what I've looked up, the healthy range is generally from about 100-135ish. I'm aiming for about 115 for a number goal and then to stay between 112-120 at all times to allow for natural ups and downs. I picked the number for my own reasons before I looked anything up and turns out it's right about midway…

I didn't really tell anyone when I started nor when I really got serious about it 7 months ago and doubled my total weight loss in a fraction of the time. Not doing it to impress anyone but merely for health reasons like you said and I honestly don't much care what anyone thinks so I surely don't need to fish for…

Depending on what kind of blades you have: Grate cheese in a snap, slice onions without a tear, chop nuts quickly and easily, julienne or grate carrots or potatoes....possibilities are endless. Enjoy! I love mine!! :o)

When I got serious about this in May, I wanted to be done by now but still have about 37 lbs. to go. But I can't complain too much -- I'm down about 63 lbs. from a year ago -- 53 since May when I actually started putting some real effort into it and about 78 lbs. altogether. So, when I look at how much faster it's coming…

unsalted butter, Splenda and bananas -- my favorite!! Of course, the best is to use Bob's Red Mill Steel Cut Oats or 10-grain cereal but we like regular old cream of wheat too....not such a big fan of classic Quaker Oats. Prefer the finer grain.

When you have clothes to replace them....can't have you running around naked. ha ha I have that problem right now because most of my clothes are way too big now...like tents. Dresses and shirts I can fake and some pants have belt loops so I can cheat and make them stay on (but I feel like I am flapping in the wind in some…

So if I was a size 6 in 1985 and I get back to the weight I was then as I plan, what size would be equivalent nowadays? I've looked for a historical comparison chart and can't find one.

Caucasian, 5'2" (when I stand on my good leg), currently 153 and the two newest clothing purchases (some jeans and a skirt to tide me over for a while since I'm swimming in most of my clothes now but don't want to spend alot on a new wardrobe now when I still have about 38ish lbs. to go and will soon outshrink any new…

If someone really just wants to look for ideas, I wouldn't have a problem with that. Whatever floats your boat...me personally I don't have time to go looking at random diaries unless one of my friends or even someone in a forum specifically asks for advice and I want to help. I don't ask for anyone else's advice on my…

Well, everyone has an opinion about the "right" way to diet and some are quite militant about it, doomsaying and second guessing everything you do. I barely have time to enter the stuff and get all the necessary exercise and healthy meal preps done to stay on track. If I had to put up with every random stranger who felt it…

I have a bad knee period and can't do anything ever that is high impact or stressful. Walking is good though, and biking. Also try the low-impact and beginner videos at fitnessblenders.com. I learned low-impact variations from those videos that I can sub in other workouts so I don't hurt myself. That's what works for me…

Some interim clothes that actually fit my 73 pound down body!! Most of what I have is starting to make me feel like I'm flapping in the wind!! ha ha :O) Still got about 45 pounds to go so not a whole new wardrobe yet....but a few things would be nice.

I live in Western Oregon where rain is SOP October - June. Normally, this is just part of the cycle of life in the NW but since I have gotten serious about losing weight this year and walking or biking have been my primary avenues of exercise, I am also finding that is an issue when the weather returns to its normal wet.…

I wore my mom's dress -- albeit with a new bodice because when we went to try it on, it appeared that her arms were made of spaghetti when she got married. I was not even close to overweight then but could not get my arms in the sleeves even part way they were so small. So when I was done with it, we had it dry cleaned and…

Well, I have bad knee -- and none of the doctors can tell me why or what is causing it --other than the cartilage lesion they removed last year. But what caused that --no one seems to know since I have been anything BUT overactive. Doctor is now stuck on weight as the issue but I am 73 pounds down and it still isn't really…

My husband's MP3 player-- hmmm, maybe it's like Mars Attacks and there is some god awful music that is fatal to the zombies and will save the day if I play it for them.... ha ha!

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Usually only part of them if any. I don't try to hit any percentage, I just try to keep it under 1400 no matter my exercise of the day because if I eat more, even if I have exercised, I gain. When I see that message, I just look at the part that says "If every day were like this you'd be X…

My go to for a quick breakfast is a fiber bar, yogurt and fruit. Or have Kashi GoLean cereal instead of the fiber bar...still has alot of fiber and is high in protein to boot. I looked it up....it really is more than an egg by quite a bit!!

No, it's not set low. I looked into that at the Mayo Clinic site because I'm watching that too. The maximum recommended is 2500 per day but the lower the better. 1500 if you have other problems like high blood pressure (ME) or diabetes or some other things I don't recall off the top of my head. I lowered mine to 1500 goal…

Any tangible rewards are side notes to just the psychological vindication I will feel to know I am at the exact weight I was when a certain person started telling me I was overweight and now I know I am SO not anywhere near overweight at that weight but smack dab in the middle of the healthy range. Even if this person…

Anything with a qualifier of any kind kind of spoils the moment. But I'd have to say the worst I've heard is not weight loss related: "Dad and I are proud of you for graduating from college. We never even expected you to go to college. We thought you'd just get married and have babies. [REALLY???!!!???? You could have…

I don't know that this is actually a marketable "diet" plan but it is the stupidest thing I've heard in regards to weight loss. I think it was from a movie, "The Devil Wears Prada" where the snooty assistant tells Anne Hathaway's character that her diet consists of just not eating anything until she is about to pass out…

1. Do you have a Facebook? Yes 2. What do you like about Facebook? That I can get news about family far away who usually would forget to tell me important stuff (like the fact that my brother was getting married) pre-FB. Also that I can post pictures and news of my kids for the grandparents so they can be in the loop even…

No, but I get the silent snark like they think I'm being silly and ridiculous even though I am not preaching it or expecting anyone else to conform to what I need to do to lose weight. That's completely their choice whether to try anything themselves or what to try if they do want to lose weight. I am not a crusade to…

I started out thinking 120 but partly for a personal reason that gives me much psychological satisfaction more than anything else and partly to give my self breathing room for the inevitable fluctuations, I settled on 115 as the final goal. Might go as low as 112 but no lower. I want to stay in the middle of the healthy…

To be completely pain free from my knee and ankle issues ..... doctor blames it on weight but I'm 70 lbs down with 45 to go and it is NOT going away....which I always said it wouldn't and there was more to it but I had to do this to prove it to him.

I don't volunteer the information gratuitously. It comes up with people who are concerned about my knee issues and ask how I'm doing and what the doctor is going to do since it's not getting better (remains to be seen as he doesn't know how much weight I've lost yet. Just made an appt. yesterday since I reached my first…
