My scale is moving this week, after no loss last week. My goal is to be under 150 by Valentine's Day.
-
All I can say is I dropped the red wine out of my daily diet this week, and the scale started to move.

Congratulations to all. The week by week successes are very inspiring. Margie, thanks for keeping the spreadsheet. It looks like a lot of work. I weighed in this morning at 153.0, down 2..4 from when I started. After no loss last week, I'm thrilled! My sister, who lost 40 lbs last year (she's now at goal) after a lifetime…

Debbie, what a relief. Thanks for letting us know. Kim, I've been going to the gym after work this week (I usually go in the morning), and it's really helped curb my desire to drink. Tuesday - 0 Wednesday - 0 And, amazingly, the scale is showing some movement.

Jenn, I would like to know your thoughts on eating all your calories, plus exercise calories.

Okay, just had a second week with several good workouts at the gym, logging food/exercise every day, keeping calories where I want them to be, and no weight loss. So what's the problem? Too many of those calories are coming from alcohol. It makes no sense for me to burn 400 calories in a spin class, just to turn around and…

Margie, thanks for all your hard work. I am finding it very motivating to be part of this group. I didn't lose anything last week, but I know why and I'm trying to keep from being discouraged. I am just beginning this journey and I'm not going to quit this time.

Congratulations, rj!

Jenn, looks like you've started a group! Glad you are okay with 5'4", because I went to the OB/GYN today and was told that I AM 5'4" (my GP told me I was 5'3"). The inch only mattered because I was worried about bone loss. So I'm happy here. Not so good with challenges or names either. Anyone else?

I love that we have a group. I love reading everyone's goals and realizing that they're within about 5 pounds of my goals. I'm new here so I don't know that there's a way to create a group other than to respond to a post like this and then it will show up in your "My Topics" section of the community page. Anyway, I find it…

Oh, that's a perfect challenge! I was on board to start doing push-ups and crunches myself. I'm so out of shape that I know I can't do 50, so I'll set my own goal a little lower, but will still strive to do at least one set of each every day. Thanks for the idea.

Sorry, what was I thinking? I'm 5'3" (I was 5'4" in high school, and I still can't get used to the fact that I've shrunk)! Sweet Princess, how did you do those projected photos? They're fabulous!

These posts are SO inspirational! It's amazing to know there are so many others in the same situation as mine. I'm 5'4, 55 years old, sedentary job. My highest weight was 168. I'm now at 155, working my way back to 125. Last year I worked with a registered dietician who advised 1500 calories to lose weight, 1800 to…

Ice storm followed by snow. Sipping Canadian Whiskey, schedule off kilter. Still feeling okay about the day's calories.

Wow, I can really relate to so many of these posts! Yes, the wine is sabotaging my weight loss progress, and yes, it's the only way I've learned to unwind at the end of the day. I'm all for checking in here in the evening for motivation (and maybe some alternatives). It's crazy to spend an hour in the gym in the morning…

So after one week of tracking every calorie, getting to the gym 4 days, and eating very healthfully, I'm only down .6 lbs. I think the wine has really got to go, at least a few days a week. Face to face with reality here....

Weighing in at 155.4. I am so grateful for this group and the challenge.
-
Thanks for including me. I'm feeling very motivated!

I can really relate to so many of you here, and I'm happy to join you. I had 2 glasses of red wine last night -- measured, enjoyed, and logged in the food journal. This is a huge change from the endless "sipping" I usually do at night.

I've just started with myfitnesspal (recommended by my daughter, a dietetics major) and am looking for a support group. I have 30 lbs to lose and I'm absolutely committed to doing it this time. If it's not too late for the Valentine's Challenge, my starting weight is 156 and I'd like to be 149 by Valentine's Day. I'm an…

I'm new here, but this group is a perfect fiit for me! All of my empty calories come from alcohol. I've got 30 lbs to lose, and the only way to do it is to add regular exercise and cut down on the drinks in the evenings. How do I "join" this group, and how do I find your posts without having to do a search in the community…

I'm new to the community section of MFP and would love to travel this journey with others. May I join you (and how does it work)?
