  • So I finally got my Yoga for Sacrum, Low Back, and Hip Pain DVD in the mail. Its not the most spectacular DVD I have ever seen, but I think its pretty well put together. The guy starts the DVD with a short introduction to body mechanics and types of back pain, which was quicky and dirty, lol. Then the second section is an…
  • No, you don't have to lift weights. Would it be beneficial to strength train? Yes. Try an introduction program with three days a week of full body lifts. Something like StrongLifts 5x5 or Starting Strength.
  • Darwin - Glad you are still among the employed. I truely don't envy the private sector workers. You guys might make more money, but it practically takes an act of congress to get laid off here. Nice numbers Lauren! Re: Jackets - Mine seem to be getting a lot tighter around the shoulders. I don't want to buy larger sizes…
  • ERMAGERD! There are so many color choices! I am really leaning towards the pink Inzer... Thanks for the size help! If I measure at the belly button then I will have to size up - its my natural waist the is right between two sizes. I would like to lose more fat around the middle, but I am not sure if I will actually buck up…
  • YAY for butt DOMS! I also prefer to have butt DOMS and finally got some today... Also, I didn't even notice Fisher was in her avatar until you said something!
  • Inspired by something I saw on the forums this morning; I will be making this hopefully over the weekend (if not sooner)! INGREDIENTS: 1 pound ground turkey 1 egg 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon onion powder 1/2 cup seasoned bread crumbs 1 cup prepared macaroni and cheese - your choice 12 slices bacon I am going to…
  • Thanks Sara and Taso. If I am between sizes, what do you recommend?
  • Thanks for all the feedback. So, I believe I should consider getting one sometime in the near future. With that being said - can you recommend a good (not breaking the bank) brand (USAPL Approved)?
  • So, I was feeling a bit chipper after my chiro appointment. He hasn't officially cleared me to lift again, but I feel 90% recovered and all he does when I go in is some heat, some massage and a back crackin' lol. I am seriously in and out in 15 min. Anyways...went to the store. Bought some Converse All-Stars. Drove over to…
  • Thanks guys. As you know, since your on my newsfeed - my squats have been lagging behind all my other lifts. I should be able to do much more than what I am doing and wonder if a belt would help. Maybe I will have to look into one.
  • If you are sure you are using correct form and it is not an injury, its probably just DOMS. On days that I do higher volume of deadlifts, my muscles will be a little sore the next day. Just ensure correct form and rule out the possibility of injuries. If it is DOMS, it is normal and fine. Just remember that the bulk of…
  • Not to one up your Shepherd's Pie...but this is my preferred recipe (I really like the sweet potatoes and rosemary combo), via Skinnytaste: Servings: 6 • Size: 1 pie Calories: 250 • Fat: 6 g • Carb: 34 g • Fiber: 6 g • Protein: 16.5 g • Sugar: 3 g Sodium: 304 mg (without salt) For the potatoes: 1-1/2 lbs sweet potatoes,…
  • Bumping. I also love lifting; hate cardio (running, etc.). For work though, I have to maintain some semblance of cardio conditioning.
  • Speaking of Yoga: I am aiming to do it once a week (at least) this month to help my flexibility and possibly alleviate some of the hip/back pain I suffer from. Plus, I really don't want to go to more Chiro sessions than absolutly needed. I found this bad boy on Amazon, with some pretty promising reviews - so I purchased it…
  • I feel like I have been just lurking for a few days... So much has been going on! Auddii - Looking Great! Fittree - I know what you mean about bikinis not getting much use. I ordered a VS one last year (for Maui) and wore it that week, and then I only got to wear it 2 times on our boat, and 2 times while on Vacation in MI.…
  • I made the Coconut Curry Chicken tonight. Subbed in mongolian fire oil, added a red bell pepper, and added extra curry paste. Tasty! Highly recommend and pretty easy to make!
  • My goals, as of now, for the month of Feb. Wear fitbit daily, get in at least 10,000 steps/day. Run a 5k (treadmill) in under 35 minutes. Maintain weight. Do yoga at least once per week. And depending on my prognosis this afternoon, I will add some weight goals, if allowed.
  • Another good slow cooker recipe - Mu Shu Pork Wraps 1lb pork tenderloin, cubed into 1/2 inch pieces 1 bell pepper, red, cut into 1 inch pieces 1 package (4 oz) shiitake mushrooms, stemmed and sliced 3 tablespoons hoison sauce 1 tablespoon soy sauce 1 teaspoon hot pepper sauce or hot sesame oil 1 tablespoon cold water 1…
  • As promised, Chicken Tomatillo and Cumin Carrots: 2lbs baby carrots 1 Can reduced sodium chicken broth 1 teaspoon ground cumin 12 boneless, skinless chicken thighs 1 teaspoon salt, divided 1 teaspoon black pepper 1lb tomatillos, huskes removed and rinsed 1/2 small onion 2 jalapenos, seeded 2 cloves garlic 1 tablespoon lime…
  • We operate much alike. I always have on hand: long grain rice, short grain rice, quinoa, pasta(s), assorted beans, marinara, chicken stock, beef stock, canned diced tomatoes, canned chilis and jalapenos, coconut milk, canned tuna, eggs, frozen veggies, ground beef, ground turkey, shrimp, salmon, chicken breast, roast and…
  • I gonna have to try the lasagna cups...that sounds wonderfully delish. I mentioned somewhere else that I am really only a fan of the "innards" of the lasagna and I feel like the noodles are a waste - filler.
  • Hippy! J/K But we have a guy at work who talks about those kind of food issues all the time. It doesn't change the fact that I don't like ham, or canadian bacon. All the pork talk did cause me to do a pork sirloin tip roast this week. Took the lazy way out though: 1 piece of pork 1 extra large sweet potato chopped…
  • I'd like to personally thank LorinaLynn for showing me that in order to get the body I want, I need to eat (large) and lift (heavy)!
  • I am at a weight that I am comfortable with (5'6.5" [that extra half-inch counts] and 125) so I was focusing on cutting BF% by eating at TDEE - 10 to 20%...ensuring that I got between 30 and 40% of my cals in protein and 20% in fats, filling in the rest with carbs. I was losing weight though, so eating at maintenance would…
  • Tameko - You are a beast! I leave this month with less than expected numbers since I took a week off: Squat: 105x5 OHP: 65x5 Dead: 175x1 Bench: 75x5
  • Everyone is doing great this week! Fittree - I would really like to check out a class like that; its awesome that your form is spot on! Ladies - sorry but I glossed over all the chit chat about computer thingymabobs and whatnot...not my forte. I really think that after a couple more days, I will be ready to kick it in the…
  • Congrats! You will do great; just think of all the awesome life skills you have aquired since the last time! Those 19 years won't have *kitten* on ya!
  • ha ha, silly Canadians - that's HAM. Anyways, use the wonton wrappers...place a couple pieces of (turkey) pepperoni and some mozzarella cheese and close up (or add some veggies to make it sorta healthy). Place on greased cookie sheet, I usually just spray some canola cooking spray on the pan...and then spray some on the…
  • I just realized that I come to this thread evey time there is a new post - like food porn. Re: wonton wrappers. They make nice little pizza bowls too! The Hungry Girl Cookbook that the MIL got me for Christmas has tons of wonton ideas. Who has a tried and tested recipe for Swordfish? I really like it, but I am alway at a…
