So the empson salt soak helped? I miss DOMS - how do I get it back, lol.

 Thanks for that - it makes me feel slightly better about my buttwinking, lol. I need to bust out my Starting Stength book again - but its just sooooo dry to read. I do much better watching Ripp than reading Ripp. Oh, and I farted during a squat for the first time ever. I was proud. Welcome to the group;…

I couldn't stay away. I went to the gym with my hubz tonight and did some lifting. Back up to 100 on the squats, but dropped the volume to 3x5. And now, since I have someone to watch me, I had him check for butt winking. Guess who buttwinks!?! :brokenheart: What should I do?! How do I fix it?! I know I need to watch…

There are soooo many great things going on with this thread right now! Like the coffee, tea, redbull, vodka.... I <3 caffeine and have to have a pretty decent amount to be approachable. I drink a travel mug of 2 k-cups in the AM, water most of the day, diet pop in the afternoon, more diet pop when I get home, and tea after…

<---rocking the magical yoga pants in this photo, lol. I got mine at Fred Meyer...dunno if you have those in Cali. They are some unheard of brand, but the are "slimming" and do make my tushy look fantastic! I also got the same brand in knee length crops. Those are like the only pants I wear now. I made the mistake of…

Maybe I will drop to 3x5 and stick with SL for a month just so he can catch up some...:ohwell: Then I can move into 5/3/1. I am just getting frustrated b/c I stall, deload, stall again...I feel like I am really ready to move into a more intermediate program. The things we do for love! Extraordinary: I noticed the same NSV…

I do(did) cardio a few times a week, usually 2 or three times, but nothing crazy. Maybe an hour of Zumba or 40 minutes on the treadmill at a brisk walk. Sometimes some HIT, like ZWOW. I hate cardio and do it just so I don't have a heart attack at work. Eating a very small deficit, like TDEE-10 to 15% most of the…

I saw the thread, thought she looks amazing. I don't know how typical those results are. I think that the rep range is high as well...like why work for endurance over hypertrophy or strength? That heavy and that much would technically be cardio, right? Like 30 Days Shred style, lol. Although in the workout listed under the…

Hubz wants to know if the menfolk will be invited or if its ladies only.

I am intrigued by cheese curds  I do like beer...and sausage. And Aaron Rodgers. BUT Tameko is right...somewhere warm would be nice. Oh....Vegasbaby's name got me thinking.... Vegas is warm - right? Who would have thought she was a canuck!

My progress is starting to slow for some of the more difficult lifts (OHP and Bench) but is still moving along nicely on the lower body lifts. I guess I just want to be ready for the comp and still be able to look good in a bikini over the summer :) I was enjoying newbie gains for a good while, but now I have been weight…

The first pic was before any weight training. The middle pic was halfway through SL, and the final one was last weekend. I gave SL 13 weeks, with my final results being: Squat: 45-->100 (mental block at 100 that I can't seem to pass) OHP: 45-->65 Bench: 45-->75 Deadlift: 85-->175x1 (170x5) Row: 45-->85 Weight: 127-->124.5

Meh, he has a lot of free time these days....

Thanks - I will put some pics on the estimation thread when I get home. The meet that I am considering is in October or December. Haven't decided which one I want to enter yet.

Darwin - If you can promise me Aaron Rodgers, I will come to WI tomorrow!

I always thought it was a bit lower than 23% too, but thats the number he came up with. I wonder if he just sucks at measuring and I carry a lot of fat in those areas.

A trainer did a 3 point caliper - not the most accurate, but I can't find a bodpod around here.

Hmm, I disagree. I get impatient while waiting for the power rack to open up, lol. I am ok with no lines  . But for realz, I get really upset when female coworkers, husband, mother, etc. tell me to be careful or I will bulk up and "lifting anything over 20lbs for reps is bad for you". Sometimes I want to scream, "Do…

Darwin and Vegas - This group is amazing! I really enjoy coming in and chatting daily...we do need a Convention or something, lol. Clarita - way to keep upping the weight! You are doing great! Thanks, Extraordinary, its so hard to not compete with other people's numbers - its human nature I guess. I see Nexangelus' numbers…

Funny you should mention this...I didn't even think about it, but every year (since I moved out to Seattle), I get pretty moody/down during the winter (SAD?). I didn't even realize that I haven't had that issue at all this year! I believe that getting into the gym, sweating, and the following endorphine rush from pulling…

Can I jump on this wagon? I ran 13 Weeks of SL5x5 and saw some decent gains. According to the charts, my lifts are intermediate range but I felt like I was stalling a lot and squatting every workout made me feel like I couldn't make gains on other lifts. Anyways - long story short, my hubz was the recipient of a gym…

2013 Goals: Deadlift 2xBW Squat 1.5xBW Bench 100lb OHP 85lb I have a looooooong way to go.

I finally hit 175lb deadlift today (142% BW) - and I had a witness! I got my hubz a gym membership for his birthday so I can use him as a spotter, lol. I was only able to get it up once, but its more than last week! I am having some back pain, which was left over from the other day...so I was considering not even doing…

http://calorieline.com/tools/tdee I really like this one. The explanation of TDEE is really helpful; and their formula is slightly different than a lot of sites - and it explains why. A good read at the very least!

The knees tracking inward is a sign of muscle weakness/imbalance...meaning you are moving up in weight too fast - your body isn't strong enough yet). I was doing that the first time I went up around 90lbs, so I have deloaded twice and just got back up to clearning 95x5x5 without any form issues. You might want to consider…
