After a month of doing nothing and just letting my hip heal, I'm ready to come back! Gonna dial my mileage down quite a bit though. My goal for the month of December is 30 miles. That should get me through the month without any re-injuries. Oh, and already started as well: 12/03: 2 miles (walk) TOTAL: 2 miles

I'm registered for one but hurt myself pretty badly at my first 5K in mid-October. I did something to my hip during that race and I'm still in pain when I try to walk faster than an octogenarian. So, I'm handing my bib over to my sister and will stand on the sidelines and cheer her one. Kind of bummed about it,…

OMG, I'd have to quit and find another job if I worked there! OP, great job! I gave up the diet soda for three months and then started drinking it again. It's amazing how quickly you can find yourself drinking a can a day again.:frown: Keep going!

10/26: 10.2 (Bike Ride) MONTH TOTAL: 82.15 Not going to make my goal this month, unfortunately. Turns out that I've got a femoral neck stress fracture in my left hip and I've had to discontinue ALL activity and am now gimping around on crutches for the next four weeks. This totally sucks. Hopefully I'll be back for…

I've always loved ectos... which is funny because I've always been an endo. I've always outweighed my men. Sadly, I've never been able to get that "Jack Sprat could eat no fat" poem out of my head since hearing it in grade school.

I've been babying it for a…

mapmyrun.com will gps you on your routes and allows you to add all sorts of different exercising into it. I use it for running, biking, walking and video workouts (like 30 day shred). Default is private, though you can add friends. I love it!

What an awesome post and just what I needed to hear! I finished the C25K program a week ago and have my first race scheduled for this coming Saturday. My goal is to just run the whole thing, no matter how slowly, but I've definitely been getting more nervous worrying I may finish last. Thanks for sharing your experiences…

I needed to hear this. THANK YOU!

Ooo! Ooo! Ooo! My husband is out elk hunting this week, which means I have control of the kitchen and I went out and bought tons of turkey tonight. I'm making a turkey-quinoa meatloaf on Sunday, using this recipe:…

Wow. I actually stuck with it and finally made it through the WHOLE PROGRAM. Ran my third run of Week 9 this morning and it felt AWESOME! I could barely finish the runs in Week 1. I couldn't see how I'd ever be able to run for 30 minutes straight, but I decided to just trust in the program. AND IT WORKS, even for fat…

LOL, I forgot these are supposed to be races. I just want to finish faster than I used to walk it.

I may change up my route very slightly each week, but each run during the week is usually the same one. How are you landing on your feet when you run? On your toes? On your heels? You should be aiming for the ball of your feet, or at least that's what I've read and have made it to week 9 relatively pain-free. If I were you…

Oh sweetie, try not to feel too frustrated about this. I think you did GREAT! You are going to have plenty of more future 5Ks to run. Some might be hard, some might be easy, but the thing that doesn't change is YOU are there running them. I'm really impressed with you. I started Week 9 today and have my first 5K scheduled…

I would strongly suggest you invest in those good shoes, even if it means delaying the program a couple of weeks while you save up the money. You don't want to derail your progress by hurting your knees or developing shin splints in the first couple of weeks, and if your shoes aren't supportive enough, this will likely…

It's not a fail unless you stayed in bed and didn't attempt it. Don't freak out yet. The noon-thirty time and just a little more heat may have had something to do with it. Just try it again the day after tomorrow. I'd be willing to bet you surprise yourself with a very good run.

Bacon sandwich. Seriously, they did a study on how the amount of fat vs carbs is the necessary magic: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/science-news/5118283/Bacon-sandwich-really-does-cure-a-hangover.html
