  • The FB will continue to record steps for that time period yes, though I've heard they're not very accurate at all when cycling. Does Runtastic give you an option to put in a start time and duration? That's how MFP knows not to double count calorie burns.
  • As long as you've got the correct time entered into both FB and MFP, you won't end up double-counting anything. What I do is if I'm going to do Zumba for a bit, I'll put my FB in timer mode. Then later when I sync everything up, I'll look on my FB profile to see what the start time of the activity was and then I'll log it…
  • I'm with you on this - I'm trying to stay away from processed stuff as much as I can, while trying not to let my grocery budget get out of hand, and I'm just failing miserably, lol. I don't know how many more days in a row I can really eat a PB&J sandwich at my desk without wanting to pop my head off. I just don't have the…
  • I'd suggest sucking it up, haha. It keeps us accountable. I don't have my diary out for the world to see, but I always make it visible to MFP friends to keep me accountable. And if you've had a bad week, don't feel bad. If you're regularly checking out your friend's diaries, you'll notice weeks in there where they fell off…
  • From purely just a point of personal preference I like MFP better. I find the SP site cluttered and clunky.
  • Agreed - when I sleep in on weekends I still aim for the same number of calories. In fact, I usually plan those as rest days. Since I want to net 1500 calories - if I wake up at noon, odds are I'm going to eat my breakfast/lunch hyrbrid, then have dinner a few hours later, then probably a snack or two in between - but that…
  • I'm 5'2". I never really know what to put in for the activity calculators, because I do have a desk job, so I'm sitting on my butt for a good portion of my day. But then when I get home I do 40 minutes on the treadmill each night, with a rest day here and there as needed depending on schedule or when stuff gets in the way,…
  • If you've hit your calories for the day but are still hungry late at night, don't starve yourself. Nothing is more de-motivating than going to bed on an empty stomach. When this happens to me I just choose to have some fruit or veggies - something that even though it's going to put me over my calorie goal for the day, are…
  • Especially if you're lifting at the gym - you'll want to make sure you're netting enough calories that your body isn't eating back that new muscle you're building :)
  • I've seen this done two ways - if you're saying 'no' I don't eat my exercise calories back - then there should still be a followup question to that which would be, "Well, what do you normally net in a day?" If your goal is manually set (which I find myself and a lot of my MFP friends have done, so I've maybe falsely…
  • Same! I'll send you guys friend requests! I definitely need friends on here that actually interact :)
  • Man that thing was long, haha. I came out to 28.4 ... 4 years older than I actually am :/

  • I agree about not quite feeling comfortable with treating yourself. I think I'll get there, but I'm still at the start of this change, so I feel as though I'm kinda still detoxing from all those things like soda and pizza that I used to practically live off. Chip for me has been replaced with just whole grain tortilla…
  • Lol. That's always how I feel too when I tell people they can add me. I feel like I need to come with a disclaimer attached!
  • I just started Turbo Jam and it's a lot of fun! Definitely challenging and DEFINITELY works up a sweat because you are always, always, always moving. But it's also a lot of fun since it's based around kick boxing, so it makes you feel all tough and cool :)
