On day at a time - love that! You're right, sometimes it's so hard to know that it will take me years to achieve this - but to see people like you is so inspiring. Thanks for sharing!

I met my husband on match.com. Before him, I met another great guy on there that I dated for a while too, but we ended up being too different. It is what you make of it - be honest and up front in your profile (with both the text and pictures) and chat for a while before meeting. Always drive your own car to the first few…

Such a great change - and your story is awesome. Congrats!

Great job! Your hard work has really paid off!

I weigh in every day too, and it's bad because I do obsess. But I think if you can do the above, write it down, and move on - it becomes ok. Just know there can be up to a 5lb fluctuation, and you should look week to week or month to month.

I think a lot of people are missing the point here. Yes, everyone should be responsible for their own health, but the ultimate claim is false advertising. The ad does make it sound like a health food. Yes - everyone (not just Americans - way to stereotype an entire nation) should pay attention to what they're putting in…

This - this is the best answer. If you think your moods come from not eating enough, and that you're likely to self-sabotage because of it - try eating more and see what happens. I would just give yourself a month when you make any change to see how it's going vs. making rapid changes in succession.

This is really well said, and very true. I think if Nickleback touted themselves as a pop group, people might hate them less (lots of pop sounds the same, which is also why it's popular). But they tout themselves as a rock group, and yet sort of don't do anything that rock does (songs are simple, band members appear…

I need help with this! I work out in the afternoon but want to workout in the morning just to have more free time at night. So instead of getting out of bed at 7:30, I need to get out of bed closer to 5:30 or 6. Help!

Great work! Keep it up!

Awww! It's a compliment, and compliments feel good, especially after you've been working so hard.

You're here again - that's all that matters. I agree with the advice on taking things slow, using small goals, and making sure MFP is set right for you. I initially tried it at the 2lb weight loss and it wasn't enough food. I upped my calories, am back losing again, and feel great. Just know that this is a tool, and…

Get rid of this dude. Are you kidding me? You deserve someone who loves you.

bump because I keep losing this thread :P

This is literally the scariest thread I have ever been in. Sorry OP. I would tell you to do a search and check out some other threads. Yours took a wonky turn.

I do this as well, but have also recently found Quakes - they're flavored mini rice cakes and are oh so good. I recommend if you don't get the single serving size of any of the above - opening the bag/box immediately upon getting home and portioning them into ziplock baggies. It's much easier to stay strong that way. I…

I was never a fan of getting asked out when the person didn't know at least something about me. If someone approached me at a gas station, all they would really know is what I looked like and what I drive. How do you know you WANT to ask her out? She could be a nutter. Edited to add: duh - the point of asking her out is to…

I really think it depends. If you do this same cooking/cleaning on days you work out, and you never counted it before, then you might end up eating extra calories that you never tracked before and weren't eating before. If you were successful without tracking them, then tracking them now might hinder that (alternatively,…

Unless you've upped your calories quite a bit - you're not fueling your body. It's going to hold on to its weight. It also looks like you have lots of days where you're leaving 500-600 calories on the table. That's too many. Eat more. Drink more water. Search the threads for "should I eat back my exercise calories" "in…

Nooooooo. I can't believe you went and did it. I disagree that this is the end of it - she's going to ask you to try it again and take it seriously! You've messed up the principal of "I pick things up and put them down." It's essentially like you tried to compromise without following through. I think she'll resent you more…

I agree with the folks who didn't like Titanic. Man it was bad. I also have a personal hatred for Contact, despite Mathew McConaughey being in it because I sort of die for him. But come on - the alien projected himself to look like her freaking DAD?? That's a cop-out.
-
No way - I love that movie.

I think you have to figure out if you have no energy because of a physical or mental factor. If you're tired all the time because you're not sleeping enough, or you're not fueling your body with enough food, or you're having a medial issue - that might be an easier fix. You can change things up with more food, more sleep…

Congratulations on your hard work! It's so great to see someone stick with it for so long!

This is really great (although I will have a hard time leaving Torrid if that day ever comes). I've heard that weight loss is just as much of a psychological change as a physical one, so it will just take you time. Can't wait to meet you there!

I can see a difference, but it's often really really hard for people who see you every day to tell until you've lost 40-50lbs, particularly if you lost the weight slowly. To me your face looks quite different, but if I saw you every day I might not be able to tell. It's funny though when it dawns on people - they'll ask if…

I also wanted to add - beautiful before, beautiful now. Nice when weight loss simply improves on your existing good looks

You are exactly what I want to be. Same starting weight, similar goal weight (I've got 5 inches on you, so I will be a bit higher) - everything. First of all, your progress and change is AMAZING. I actually teared up a bit looking at your photos, because I see it is possible. I just have to see the bigger picture and…

This is one of the big differences between MFP and WW, and this may be the first time it was discussed in the thread. You log everything in MFP. There are certain things that don't cost points in WW. Anyone with more input on this difference? I think it's one of the main ones (other than meetings and points conversion)…

The leg curl machine at my gym has an adjustment so the seat moves up and down (it's also flat - no scoop). If this one doesn't, you might want to try adding a flat pad to the seat to lift you up more to see if the pain stops. If neither works, ask a staff member to teach you a squat or something off the machine to work…
