You have had some great advice (I particularly think the one about structure is good and important), so I'll just add my own motivations to the mix. It seems like you know what you need to do, and you are doing it. It just takes a bit longer than it felt like it did coming on. Remember, you didn't gain weight over night,…

It's of course the picture, but also the way you stand and the shape of your body - you look taller on the last picture! Congratulations with the great progress!

Don't know if anybody mentioned it - but do you use any additional nutrients? Cod liver oil is the thing for me. It keps my very beat up joints working: knee ruined in a car accident, hips and pelvis out of position after pregnancies and giving birth, but eating cod liver oil regularly really makes a difference. It also…

Eat less! More cardio! My problem is food allergies and metabolism issues. I could hardly eat less, and exercizing more did make me more fit, but never made me lose a gram. Not until I managed to sort through all the food issues (a very slow and complicated process) and found a balanced work-out that kept me from…

Assuming you're an adult, you should be able to gauge your own performance and your own needs. As for me, if I don't have breakfast, I am tired and even a bit dizzy in the morning. If I eat breakfast, then I am alert, awake, and the morning is my most efficient work-time. If you tend to be tired in the morning, eating will…

As a vegetarian, you need to look into protein and fat rich options. But it's not hard to get enough of either, as long as you eat whole-grain and brown rice, legumes, beans, nuts and avocado. If you also eat milk and eggs, you have a very easy source of both in eggs, cheese and milk. If you stick to whole grain and…

1: Put in some rest days. You shouldn't overwork the same muscle groups every day - which is what you are doing going from zero to workouts every day.In a while you'll be able to do what you do now every day and just feel better for it, but right now you don't give yourself time to recuperate. 2: Make sure that you don't…

Well, different people, different traditions, obviously. Around here, you volunteer your help if the party isn't at a professional venue (hotell, restaurant, etc) - and even then there may be tasks that need looking after. It's quite all right to be asked to help, and it's a sign of being a person they trust, someone close…

Not quite there, but I have to admit that one great benefit of losing weight was getting more room in plane seats.

I eat between 1200 and 1500 a day, whether I work out or not. I have worked my way down to that line, slowly, and I need to stay on it to avoid gaining weight. I am not super skinny, and I am fairly active. I do however have hypothyreoisis, which means I have to eat medicines to keep my metabolism going, and it's still…

A latte. In my own cup, because I hate seeing the mountains of trash from the paper cups.

I have cut down to social drinking 2-3 times a month. After those days I always see very clearly how bloated I am, and I feel sluggish and tired. The good thing is that it clears out pretty quickly, when I avoid alcohol. This makes it very easy to not drink unless I have a good reason!

My bane used to be tea and cookies. I can still remember the taste and texture of those cookies. I want them. Now. With tea. The only way to avoid having tea and cookies was by not going there. For a long time I didn't have tea in the evening, until I managed to drink tea without wanting cookies. As for all the other stuff…

Apart from pillows: How about considering how you sit? I find that I am more comfortable sitting up straight, balancing on the seat bones, than leaning back. Also: Work those butt muscles! Fill in with a fine, firm, muscled behind where there was only fat.

I am that age now, and definitely planning to wear my bikini until I forget where I put it. Then I'll just not bother and wear or not wear what ever, as I won't remember being embarassed at all.
-
Why should it matter? After all, you wear the bikini (or less) to be comfortable in the heat and get sun on your skin - which is vital to build resistance and vitamin D stores for the winter to come. Around here you'll see all sizes and ages of women with or without bikinis. Actually you'll be more likely to see topless…

Why not make him be precise about what stone-age culture he is referring to? I do that here every time my paleo-co-worker goes on about it, then we discuss what he could have eaten if he was a caveman here, or on Hawai, or in Africa (for instance.) At least that way it's possible to get some real knowledge about food,…

He may actually believe his criticism will help you stop the destructive behaviour. I know this isn't true, and he is sabotaging by making you hide, but he may not understand that. Tell him to his face that praising you when you do well and shutting up about what you do wrong is a lot more effective than punishing you for…

Go see your doctor. It's common for women's metabolism to plunge at this age, and you may be developing hypothyreosis. Just go make sure that's not it, because if it is, you need medication.

You are getting a lot of really good information here. However, if after another month none of this works, I'd recommend that you ask yourself a few questions about your own body and habits. Do you notice any food intolerances? Personally, I discovered a gluten intolerance and an extreme sensitivity to sugar (not diabetes,…

This! ^^ I just want to add: Juice has a lot of sugar, a lot more than whole fruit, even if it has no added sugar. I am highly sensitive to sugar, and while I can get away with eating whole fruit as it doesn't affect the blood sugar as quickly or as strongly, my body protests if I drink a glass of juice every day. So my…

If I was to eat that much, it would have to be well planned. I'd start with cheese omelet and bacon for breakfast, lots of bacon and lots of cheese. I'd have to get some tomatoes and cucumbers just so I wouldn't feel nauseous from the fat. Then I'd have to snack on some nuts, after a serious work-out, like chopping wood or…

I do it by making my "bad choices" really worth it. If I am to have chocolate, it will be the very best chocolate I can possibly find - which means I can't have as much, as it's expensive. Also, really good, dark chocolate tastes so intensely that I don't need as much! Same with take-away, if I have it, it's from the thai…

I play video games ;-) Keeps my hands occupied so I can't keep stuffing my face, and I don't get bored. If I watch television, I knit. Same thing. But I do snack a little, mostly on fruit. I log it, and keep it as part of the plan of the day.
-
Have a handful of nuts. 50 grams of almonds is about 300 calories, and full of proteins and healthy fats. Very concentrated energy, and if you eat them raw you don't get extra salt or sugar with them. Also, if you want a snack; really dark chocolate. As an example: 40 gram of 88% chocolate contains 230 calories, most of…

People are very different and have very different needs. I don't eat below 1200, but I normally end just above it, and I try to log everything. I do get the occasional day when it feels like I will never feel full again, but it's rare, and I had those days when I was not counting calories as well. The rest of the time I am…

It takes a long time to change habits, and while you have been thinking about how you look and what you need to do to feel better about yourself, he has only thought about how much he likes you. Now you want to change something he really likes, and you do it by taking away one of the ways he has had to make you happy. We…

I have cut it back a lot, and now I feel awful when I do drink. I tend to drink socially, but in periods I avoid it totally, and I always feel much better. Also, the main bulk of my weight loss was caused by cutting out alcohol and chocolate. As for drinking 3 glasses of wine each night - that's 21 units a week. According…

Hello to you I had a look at your diary, and you have had some good advice here. I'll try to summarise it and add some hints as to why the advice may help you. 1: Steel cut oat meal: this has more fiber than regular, quick oatmeal, and will help you feel full. I walso want to add that with all the bread you are eating,…

I am at the upper end of a normal BMI, and I have a thigh gap. I suspect if the little girls knew that women like me, in all my aging, sagging glory, have a thigh gap, it would immediately become less attractive! They want it because to many, it's almost impossible to achieve, and because current fashion dictates skinny…
