  • I always want a sweet snack at night. Many of my new favorite nighttime snacks involve bananas, often briefly frozen and combined with something else. I do a lot of PB2 and banana combos or sometimes throw in some unsweetened cocoa powder as well. You can make a "pudding" out of it or just kind of use it as a dip. If you…
  • I second delicious_croc. 1200 calories and then eating back any exercise calories would be the bare minimum a female should eat. If you don't eat back exercise calories on top of a 1200 target a day, you're actually more apt to see your weight loss stall quickly as your body conserves those calories in starvation mode. Eat…
  • Hi everyone. I'm 22 years old. I started at 214 lbs and 5'8". Aiming to get to 160lbs (which would be -54lbs) but may re-evaluate that goal weight once I get closer. During the first two and a half weeks, meeting calorie goals hasn't been too tough for me. I find that I've enjoyed cooking more and also try to shake it up…
  • What an awesome amount of accomplishment in roughly three months!
  • From what I've read on here so far, it depends a lot on your goal too. If you have MFP set to -2lbs/week but are okay being between -1.5lbs/week and -2lbs/week, you'll still be on target to lose weight in the in-between even if you go over by 300 calories 2 to 3 times in one-week. In some cases, this appears to actually be…
  • I think planning at least my meals the night before can be helpful. I know that I tend to want a snack at night after days I have work and class, so I purposefully stick those in there. I also feel that it keeps me more accountable to exercise if I am planning in a specific amount of exercise calories to eat back.
  • I was horrified about Starbucks nonfat pumpkin spiced lattes! Even nonfat and without whip, it's 260 calories for a grande and 48g of sugar. While I didn't think they'd be great for you, I underestimated how bad they were. I think I drank them like four or five times a week last fall without considering calories at all.…
  • In a class I took two years ago, I had to write a brief story about where I'd be five years from then. Last month, I re-read it to see how my goals lined up so far at almost the midway point. I realized that I was on track with almost everything except for the fact that I had aspired that I'd get to my goal weight before…
  • I grew up in a household where lots of snacks and junk food was pretty much the norm. I saw no problem with nibbling on some Reese's peanut butter cups in a candy dish on the table, eating whatever chips we had in the cabinet, going out for an ice cream with friends, and eating bagels for breakfast. Basically, I took a lot…
