I've been working on eating healthier and doing as much exercise as I can handle physically... and I am 59. So far, so good, counting calories has been the 'trick' for me. My husband has gotten a bit jealous so I will help him create an account here and with luck he will 'join' me. So far I am down about 66 pounds.

Nope.. my husband read me a couple of sentences and I realized that I didn't need to eat (read) the whole thing to realize how badly written it is... seems aimed at young teen females.

MDWilliams185 states: "First, second hand smoke is no danger as many studies have proven. " I am a professor and a researcher, and my response here is based solely on the one study you posted a link to - I remember this study, and the firestorm it created. So, first let's be clear, even if we assume this to be a valid and…

My son has cystic fibrosis.. it could be possible to have 4 others who don't have it .. but if the test is borderline it could also be a fluke. As for knowing if you are carriers.. its possible, we didn't have a clue either. Our son was a chunky little critter who just seemed to get constant ear infections so they tested…

How about a scholarship for a young person who has a physical disability that limits their ability to work and go to school at the same time? I think education is the main way to get a leg up in the world and I would personally set up for for an young adult with cystic fibrosis. Its an expensive disease so even if the…

Back when the dinosaurs ruled the earth I weighed 160 and was 5'10", but I didn't carry a lot of fat on me at all. At that time I worked out anywhere from two to three hours a day doing various martial art routines. I had a fat/muscle ratio check, and the tech told me he had never seen a woman carrying so much muscle mass…

I would love to, but unfortunately my hips/knees just aren't in agreement with me... to bad, I would really like to tighten up my upper legs and buns... good luck!

Wow - your (LJCannon) weight loss and your ability to keep it off is pretty inspiring! Your story certainly gives me hope - one of my '(secret) fears is that I'll get the weight off and then slowly put it back on again.

                Me too! Thanks..

LOL - Definitely along with that a good sense of humor, be able to laugh at themselves; a desire to try new things and explore the universe; value honesty - solid ethics; and last but not least a brain

Let me second that... No- right now your weight is in the normal range and your BMI is 21.2. The normal/desired BMI range for your height/gender/age is 18.5 to 24.9. Also, if you are working out a lot (running, lifting weights etc) you probably have a lot of muscle mass for your age (and gender) and muscle cells are…

Several things can cause cramps but given that you are on a diet and the extreme heat we've experiencing, your problem may be due to a deficiency in one or all of several minerals - potassium, calcium and/or magnesium. Luckily the solution is simple, eat more foods containing all of these minerals - here's a site that…

So its my new word a day Rutabaga = Swede. I used to eat them all the time as well as turnips when I was a kid (my family on my mom's side is from Scotland - Graham), but forgot all about rutabagas. If they have them around here I will have to add them back into the mix. We used to eat them mashed with butter…

mztenderheart - I don't know if this helps but I created a simple map and saved it. Then, when I went back to view it, I expanded the directions then I pressed Control-P and it printed out the screens (Maps directions etc) for me.

Bump - Great site! Thanks folks. I don't bike but do like to find new places to walk - and will try this out once the heat lets up a bit..so tired of 100+ days already.

Hmmm this is a hard one but in order of preference (and yes this does age me) 1) Old Yeller (it still touches me today). 2) The Never Ending Story 3) Rocky Horror Picture Show (never forget to bring your umbrella and some toast to this movie!) Just to drop this in as well, my favourite TV show was Rin Tin Tin (Can you…

Glad you had a happy ending! I woke up with 2 cats and a small (100 lb) dog who had somehow crept into my bed last night without waking me up.. I would hate to not wake up to any of them..even if I couldn't get up without spending almost 15 minutes wiggling and pushing a soundly sleeping cat and dog off the bed first, I…
