Happened to me, too. In fact, my weight loss has been slower than my deficeit, but my inches have decreased way more than the weight I've lost....if that makes sense. The last time I was this weight I was wearing 1.5 to 2 sizes larger. For me weight lifting has been an excellent way to shred fat.

so funny! Thanks for sharing!

I think I can only echo what others have said. This man is not for you. He is interested in control and manipulation, and he is effective. You are at this point questioning your judgement and turning to strangers for input, and also you are "protecting" yourself through a small weight gain of 8 lbs. Your subconscious and…

Exactly what SusieQ said. It especially helps if you seek input from the ones that intimidate you. You claim your own power back by doing that. To this day after 5 months of SL I still have my form checked by someone I've learned I can trust peiodically to see how I'm doing. (I don't film). I do this when I find myself…

I definitly get the tummy rumbling thing after eating an apple...I just never equated that with hunger. To me it rumbles and grumbles because it is working on digesting a bit of fiber, not cause I feel hungry...What do I know, tho?

At 49 I understand the "at this age"," it has got to change", "it's now or never" mentality. It does work, just keep at it, don't expect perfection, just keep eating right and tracking. Eventually you may think about adding excercise. Before you know it, you will have created a new pattern, which becomes part of your…

That was beyond the pale. I would go one further, PLEASE report this problem to www.thesqueakywheel.com. It goes on a google search page when the company name is entered in a query, the company is sent an email as well. It will affect their business. This is a good way to get them to pay attention to you. In my case, I…

Hi Nikki, I'm just under 5' SW 160 CW 137 GW 115 to 110 I agree that being so vertically challenged makes weight loss and gain show more dramatically. Currently in medium tops, pants are either 8's (of course petites) or 10's depending on cut. Keep with it, and congrats on your weight loss!

Good for you, Wellbert. Persistence, patience and flexibility. Like most people on MFP, I love the idea of being able to eat more to lose more,--it does NOT work for me. Tried it, and found out for myself. Recently read that as little as 28 cals a day over TDEE for someone my height (5') can cause a 4.5lb gain in a years…

You look awesome, happy birthday!

thought this link may be helpful to you http://www.drpribut.com/sports/spachil.html. I personally don't have much experience with this, but I know it can be difficult to overcome.

Keep it up! Awesome work. You look so much happier.

I live in the Mid-Atlantic area. Was diagnosed recently with major vitamin d defiency. Dr. prescribed vit d from the pharmacy. He said my deficit was too large to be able to make enough from sunlight.

Hi, I definitely would rather be tighter and smaller, no matter what the scale says. I've found lifting heavy weights to be an excellent way of accomplishing this. Good luck on your fitting in July!

We are a big fan of grilling them too, and stuffing them is even better. (Stuffed w/dried tomato, and cheese, or minced herbs and garlic, in a bit of butter,) Tyler Florence has a great recipe for Smothered pork chops--not particularily low cal I'm sure, but super tasty.

What an example of determination and bravery you are to so many of us. Thanks for letting us in on your transformation--it's so inspiring.

Yes, faster relief with the shot, but both pills and shots worked the same.

I do cardio and weights. Weight training, lifting heavy, (for me) 5 reps, 5 sets, 2-3 days a week. Cardio the days I don't lift. HIIT cardio.

Nice post. Great attitude as always!

I use my HRM for weight training and cardio. I know it is not as effective for weight training, but I do know that I superset quite alot, and that my heart rate when lifting is just as intense as doing HIIT. I also know that I actually burn MORE calories longer, with lifting than I do cardio. If you have a good (polar is…

Wow....I guess ultimately we all have to overcome negative behaviors and thoughts to succeed and lose the weight, become fit. But sometimes, people overcome challenges that are out of the realm of those of us who got fat just by being lazy and eating too much. Good inspiration.

Shin Ohtake says this: 300 grams or more carbs per day => On course to obesity and serious diseases 200 - 300 grams of carbs per day => Steady weight gain 150 - 200 grams of carbs per day => Initial stages of weight gain, depending on activity levels 100 -150 grams of carbs per day => Bodyweight maintenance 50 - 100 grams…
