Posted this to another thread forgetting that this one was here. I love how I can see the seasons changing from where the sun is in the sky on my morning commutes. In the summer it's very up when I get to this spot, in spring/fall it's like this and in winter it's dark. Makes the changing of the seasons almost tactile.…

As a year-round commuter I ask: what is this too cold/too icy you speak of? Fat bike, off-road, studded tires, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing and a trainer as last resort. I can't stand being cooped up so I get out and do whatever I can even if that means shoveling snow.

Love my X'plors (non-USH in 40mm) and have >5000 miles on them (multiple sets). They ride quick on the road and just as fast off, if a bit squirrelly ifyou have them >70psi off road, usually run around 45-55psi with tubes. Commute as near daily as possible here...even in "inclement" weather. Fresh clean clothes go in the waterproof pannier, shoes are left at work, lunch goes in the other side. Welp, that was fun. Looking back, I probably should've dropped out before the start and let one of the alternates take my place, but what's done is done. Thanks again to Mark for organizing and doing a bang-up job as always! And that's it for me this year for Grand Tours...not doing the Vuelta so someone gets my spot.
