  • I think it is important, whether some people call it addiction or bad habits, that sugar is what people will get attached to the most, and it is the first thing people will look for when emotionally unstable. So, while it is true that moderation is key, sugar is probably the one food people can't control themselves about,…
  • Honey is another topic of major debate here and in many other forums whether it has any health benefits at all or not. Why I do believe it has health benefits, which I'm not going to get into right now, when comparing refined white sugar with honey, other than the peculiar taste honey has, I prefer honey over sugar when…
  • Oh come on now, you know what my point is.
  • When I talk about nutritional benefits I mean the following. Every living being eats because our bodies need proteins, carbs, fats, vitamins, minerals, in order to live. Naturally, we wouldn't eat a piece of plastic (let's just say for a moment it wouldn't be harmful to us) because our bodies wouldn't get any benefit from…
  •
  • Really?
  • Not a nutritional one What if I'm already getting energy from veggies and fruits, which also contain mineral, vitamins, antioxidants, etc. A quick rush of energy won't give me any benefit if I don't need it while I'm sitting in front of a computer working for 8 hours. Won't that turn into adipose tissue because I'm not…
  • Still doesn't answer my question. Why would you think I'm not being serious? I believe when people are trying to achieve a fitness goal (weight loss, muscle gain, etc) they eat food based on a benefit they will get from what they're eating. If sugar doesn't provide any, then why people get bothered when others don't want…
  • My can't people just answer a damn question without questioning the OP's reason for not wanting a s*** load of sugar on her shakes? If she doesn't want sugar it is her problem, not yours. Maybe she is diabetic, maybe she hates sugar, maybe she just doesn't want sugar for no reason. Freaking annoying. And to answer the OP,…
  • For me it is a matter of challenging myself on a weekly basis. At one point I discovered my body is capable of doing things I only thought people with good genetics or those who started training since they were kids could do. It takes reprogramming of the brain by repetition and acceptance. Your brain is programmed by many…
  • And now I mess this combo up LOL
  • Uh? Like mentioned before, that depends on the brand of pasta. A serving is not a unit of measurement, so while for one brand 1 serving might contain 28 grams of carbohydrates, for other brands a serving might be different.
  • Ok, so let's say you need to eat 300 calories, and you will scan (if you have the package of the pasta) the barcode and the information will show up. If the package says 40g = 100 calories, then you will weight 120g of uncooked pasta, cook it and eat the whole thing, no matter how much it weights after cooked. The extra…
  • By the way, cooked weight varies based on water absorption. I usually eat 4.1 oz of pasta (uncooked), and the cooked weight is always different. Sometimes it is 12 oz, sometimes 13 oz, and at times is over 14 oz. So whether it is grams or oz, cooked pasta is not consistent on the nutritional levels.
  • I almost went crazy the first time I was going to add pasta to my meals. I cooked a whole box and then I realized the 4 oz I was supposed to eat, were 4 oz uncooked. How the hell I was supposed to know how many oz of cooked pasta equaled the 4 oz dry? I figured if I was to cook one meal, I would cook exactly the portion I…
  • Pain is a matter of where are you getting the tattoo done and your pain tolerance. For me the inner bicep, ribs, arm ditch (where they take blood samples from), elbow and wrist hurt like a mofo. My pain tolerance is low, yet I can't seem to stop getting tattooed lol About those idiots who will always say, what will you do…
  • While it is true many or all "diets" work as long as there is a calorie deficit to the overall amount of calories burned during the day, what people fail to explain is, depending on the macro ration you are eating, you will lose weight but that weight loss could be coming from body fat AND muscle. While many here have…
  • Looking great!!! Keep up the great job. Whatever you're doing is working.
  • Yup, he doesn't know a damn thing. You just need to pay attention to your form and use the weight that is best for you. As for warm up, you always want to do 3 maybe 4 sets before working out of the first exercise. Then you can do 2 warm up sets before each of the following exercises. I like to go high reps low weight,…
  • You're doing the right thing by working on your form first. Deadlifts are as good as they are dangerous if don't with a bad form. Now, in regards to the bar, here are a few suggestions. 1- Use Jump Boxes if no one are using them. 2- Lay down a couple of dumbbells to use them as a base for the bar 3- Since the bar is not…
  • Seriously lol. Mine is the same way. Saying I'll get ugly if I get big muscles (mom, I'm already ugly, I'm trying to distract people by making them focus on my body) but she will never get it
  • LOL this is awesome!!! And to the OP, that is perfectly fine. Not sure what purpose or goal you're trying to achieve by posting this topic, but to each their own. Funny enough my mom thinks I'm getting to big, and many of my female friends outside of MFP don't like big muscles either. Truth is, I could care less. It is my…
  • Still learning about it, but I'd like to see if what people have to say
