  • SUNDAY WEIGH IN TIME!!! 232.2, down 2lbs from last week (hooray!!!). Honestly, it's been a tough, but fair week. My routine may be drastically changing in the near future (next couple of weeks), so I've been focusing on streamlining a lot of things in my life. This success makes me want to continue, and be more efficient…
  • Fizz ... sorry to hear about your daughter. Wish her the quickest recovery. Checking in - plyo kicked my buns yesterday, but super excited to see my rotund rump get airborne on some new moves. I was drenched! Had to cut shoulders and arms short today b/c of a job interview. So ... hopefully tonight I can finish it up and…
  • Will have to start my day tomorrow with the jump rope. Maybe I'll be able to fit it in tonight when I get home, but maybe not.
  • Man! I remember suicides from the good ol' days of basketball. Good times.
  • You know it! Started my day with Chest & Back and banged out ARX - getting easier(ish) every time. I found myself telling Tony to hurry up.
  • So ... I LOVE cheese, and haven't given it up and don't plan to, either. I have drastically cut down on the amount of cheese I consume, and dairy is supposed to create inflammation, but honestly, I haven't noticed much difference. What I have noticed is that I don't really care for the taste of American or Cheddar cheese…
  • Way to go everybody! Looks like everyone's bringing it!
  • Look at you, happy! Kicking @$$ and taking names ... and almost at your goal! I love it! I'm @ 236.4 ... 0.4lbs away from my target for the week, but almost 15 pounds in 6 weeks, so yay! I only lost 1" overall for the week, but gonna keep at it.
  • Well, I'm @ 14.6 pounds lost since I started this journey about 6 weeks ago. I haven't done my measurements today, yet. I will post in a few hours when I get home. I have nothing but positive things to say about the program. I think I may replace yoga with Core Synergistics for the rest of the program. I will try yoga once…
  • Where is every body?
  • Was actually excited to get home from work, and do my P90x. Who'd have thought that I'd want to work out. Let's just say I surprised myself with that one.
  • I love this technique for chicken breasts and fish that tend to dry out. It's the perfect way to keep everything moist and yummy.
  • I work out the same. I suck it up, and I just keep pushing. You'll feel tons better after, also (especially if you usually cramp). The release of endorphin makes everything more bearable, and losing weight will also affect your cycle (less bloating, better disposition, less cramping, etc.). Think about the long term…
  • It's nice to see the whole family is getting involved. It should help you stay motivated in being active.
  • SASX, warm up some grand marnier, add a little lemon, and sip. It will cure any sore throat. TRUST ME. Kenpo is getting easier every time. I figured out when to wear shoes and when not to for the work out (my shoes stick to the rug, making the slide forwards difficult, but my socks slip when it's time to stretch).
  • A good way to keep motivated is by recording non-scale victories (nsv's). NSV's can be how your mood is altered based on what you eat, getting one extra push up or doing an exercise longer, or how your clothes fit better. Congratulating yourself on the little successes gives you the momentum you need to achieve the larger…
  • My roommate has 6 packages of the shirataki noodles in the fridge right now. She tried them once and learned two things: (1) rinse the funk out of them, and (2) they need to steep in whatever sauce they're going with in order to be flavorful. As for the paleo/primal thing: Most people who share recipes for "the lifestyle"…
  • Holy cow! I did not expect to sweat as much as I did with Core, but totally worth it. The Dreya rolls ain't happening any time soon! Shea, Tony totally has a crush on Dreya! T  D
  • Melatonin specifically controls your sleep patterns. I have had trouble with sleep, generally, and during summers, my insomnia is almost unbearable. I find that melatonin, when taken about an hour before I want to go to sleep, really does help me. I've used ambien, and sleeping pills, and they often times don't work for me…
  • 3 mg of melatonin may be a better option
  • I used to use the curve balls as excuses, but, now, I've prioritized my health over every thing else. It's been going well so far, but I did have to cut a workout short yesterday because my roommate brought over one of her clients. After my other responsibilities were done, I came home and did some cardio. Roommates have…
  • About the birth control thing: it's the depo provera shot that causes weight gain. Don't know why, but most women who get the shot experience weight gain that they cannot prevent as long as their receiving the shot. Some other birth controls can contribute to weight gain, but not with the consistency of depo. Hormonal…
  • @2many - way to stay motivated! @happy - Good on ya!
  • I think my yoga routine is cursed! I REALLY tried this time, too! I get through 45 mins of yoga and my roommate calls to tell me that she's bringing her client (she does respite care) to our place b/c the pool was having maintenance done. Oy vey! So I had to stop, and they didn't leave until I had to get ready for clinic.…
  • I dunno if telling someone that I'm doing something "just for them" is necessarily the best approach. I have a cheat meal to give every week. It just means I have a meal that I don't have to worry about. I haven't seen any real change in my weight based on the use of a cheat, but I did notice feeling like crap after the…
  • Been good the last couple of days ... no quitting in the middle. Even made sure I had time to do Kenpo before I came into work today. Feeling good :)
  • @smartmom: How's the not eating fast food going? Stay strong! @Newstar: Don't be discouraged! We all go up and down. The fact that you're staying the same is not a bad thing. Maybe an interval training 3 days out of the week to kick you out of your plateau? Sidenote: figured out why my weight was weird this week -- TOM is…
  • I generally have terrible sleeping habits. Lowering my carb intake has actually helped to regulate my sleep. I generally go to bed by 1AM, and am awake around 7AM. I think doing my workouts earlier in the day has helped, too. I will say that the last carb-heavy meal I had made me take a nap in the early evening. I think it…
  • Thanks Fizzy! I appreciate it. On a plus side, I did do some dance central 2, just to keep my body moving.
  • Article 1, Section 8, Clause 1 On topic: I didn't quit smoking because they increased the tax on cigarettes. The belief that increased taxing is incentive to get people to stop doing something is silly. Also, I spend way less money eating healthy than I did when I was buying fast food, so, no, fast food is not cheaper.
