I'm sorry for your loss. What a nice way to remember her. Thank you for sharing.

I never press it. I just check the time at the beginning and end of my activity and then log it in MFP, which I have synced to Fitbit. Then I can see my average HR and calories during the activity.

I have found out new information through discussions on a different forum. The fact that I have a Fitbit HR model might be the reason why the exercise calorie syncing works for me and not for others. Apparently, there is a different algorithm used to calculate the calories for HR and non-HR Fitbits (makes sense). What…

I've never had this problem (knock on wood) and I've had mine for about 6 weeks now, so I don't think it is a problem across the board.

I agree with @andreamaym I have the Charge HR also and it doesn't last the 5 days they say it will, but it lasts 3.5-4 days usually. If you are getting 1-2 days on a full charge, then I'd say something is wrong and you should return it. I have two questions first: 1. Are you charging it up all the way each time? You…

Oh okay. I guess my confusion was with the word 'overwrite'. Since it isn't erasing or adding calories, but just assigning some of the calories to a specific activity while leaving the rest as my everyday metabolism calories, nothing seems overwritten to me, just categorized. Ex: 400 general calories burned becomes 300…

@heybales I don't know if your comment was in response to mine, but I'm not quite sure I follow what you are saying. My only point was that logging in MFP works great for me, no double dipping and the calories burned syncs perfectly between FB/MFP every time. Perhaps my settings are different somehow, but haven't had any…

FWIW, I don't know if I have my settings different, but MFP doesn't overwrite my Fitbit calories. Ex: When I get done running, I log onto MFP - Exercise page and it might say - Fitbit calorie adjustment = 400 calories If I then input 30 minutes of running from 1:36pm-2:06pm, MFP might calculate it as 300 calories burned.…

MFP is a great place to find friends and support, so make sure you take full advantage. You're gonna rock this! (*)

Looking good. Keep up the good fight!

Awesome, and you're smiling now too!

Seriously only a month? That is great!
-
Yes, I feel so much better than if I had let myself down by not going.
-
Thanks everyone!
-
Huzzah! It's great that you have taken such an important step to improving your health.

Thanks Adrienne! Excuses and procrastination are a big pitfall for me, so this was big. I'm glad I can serve as an inspiration.

I second the calls for rye or bourbon and will add scotch to that list. I think mixers add unnecessary calories and sugar if you are trying to diet (and I'm a whiskey-lover anyway). Drinking whiskey neat or on the rocks has low calories and unlike vodka, you taste the alcohol more, so you are less likely to toss them back…

I flip mine around so that the HR monitor is facing the inside of my wrist. In fact, I just wear it this way much of the time and it seems to do fine for me.

I ran my first 5k last weekend! :D I ran (slowly) the whole way through and didn't stop or walk once. Finished at 46:09 but it was a huge achievement for me.

I usually just add a little oil/butter and whatever fresh herbs I have on hand. Oh, and a sprinkle of parmesan. Edited to add cheese.

Well, the discrepancy could also be due to the different things that the chicken is injected with. Most store-bought birds (whole or pieces) are injected with some solution in a process known as 'plumping'. For more info on what you are eating, see the Wiki page on plumping: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plumping

I was also going to say that the tan probably helps (perception-wise), since as a society we see tan=healthy and healthy=young. I don't study sociology, but that is my impression. I will say that I think you look younger because you still have some meat on your face (in a good way). I've seen people who lose lots of weight…

Wow - You look great! Congrats.
