Starting with week 2, since I have a 5K on my schedule in January & it works out, plus…

@mbaker566 Great that you got out there! I was thinking of you yesterday when I pushed myself out the door myself! And thanks for the tip of Kenosha Running group. I actually saw their website a while back, but never delved too much into it. I'll do some poking around now. I did see the canicross and it looks interesting,…

Run 10 miles // Continue Walks 11/11 - walked 2.14 miles 11/12 - RAN 1.04 miles 11/19 - RAN 2.25 miles (3.29 total, 6.71remains) Didn't do my planned run on Monday (insomnia Sun night, running around in Milwaukee & big homework project due on Monday). Then got busy yesterday morning, worked from 3-7. Was going to just say…

@mbaker566 I feel ya with the "nagging"! Since moving back up here (I'm in Lake Geneva), and with everything shifting , I've kinda struggled to get back on any kind of regular plan. Being up here in the cold, there are no constant races to goal for, but I did find a 5K in Burlington in January to work towards. Not your…

FASTED: I pretty much do all my runs fasted. I've tried both ways, and for me personally, I feel better when I'm fasted. I have "Runner's Gut" issues, and have found when I do fast they are lessened (not gone, mind you, but less) that if I eat anything before. Now when I did my duathalons, I did make sure I had something…

When I was debating my Smart/Running Watch purchase, I did my own research, narrowed it down, then listened/watched (snort, see what I did there?) what other, more experienced runners here had to say. Have to say, @PastorVincent was one of those who swayed me to a Garmin 935. Over 2 years later, and I'm NOT sorry! Just…

Run 10 miles // Continue Walks // Strength training 11/11 - walked 2.14 miles in 18F, fresh snow on the ground 11/12 - RAN 1.04 miles in 12F (dew point -1F!), mild headache, manageable so far, but when your running app nags you, sends a message "It's been 20 days since your last run, are we running today?" thought I better…

I've been absent on the board here due to my running issues. I've notice for a while now, but lately it has been more frequent, that when I run, I get headaches. For those who may remember, I suffer clinical migraines, so my headaches last several days at a time. And for being a full time student with assignments…

Know this is an older post, but, in case anyone else needs it, here are my 2 cents: I, too, am larger, and was double, and sometimes even triple layering up before any kind of workout. At a running expo after a race, I stumbled on a booth for SheFit and was fit for one of their bras. Was so freeing to go to only 1 bra!…

Welcome! Im only dipping into podcasts myself, so I'm eager to see any suggestions. I know No Meat Athlete has a podcast I've heard a little bit of that was pretty good. If you like YouTube, then there are a multitude of people to watch, the trick is to find someone who clicks. A few I like are: Simnett Nutrition, Sweet…

Another vote for SheFit! DDD chick here, and I would have to wear 2-3 bras before I discovered this beauty. Such a freedom to only run in 1 & know I'm secured in, they aren't bouncing all around.

Thanks. I use Nike for running & Strava for running & biking and have my Garmin watch. I downloaded "Jefit" app, was editors pick, off to try it in the gym now, see how that goes. I couldn't see how to change the weights, maybe I have to do that as the app is in "workout" mode? Should have a way to "plan" the work out…

My first pair of running shoes were New Balance. They did their job. Then, I went to a running shop & got fit and that's where I got my Sauconys. Adored them. After the running was done in them, I wore them as every day shoes until they got too painful to walk in. (sniff) Next, I was fit in Brook Adrenaline 16, and loved…

I, too, haven't been posting here on the threads (moved, school, trying to get my own routine & rhythm back) for a while. I've still been running & working out, posting to Nike & Strava. Then I started seeing several people posing about "Kevin", RIP. Sad. It wasn't until I decided to lurk today that I realized exactly WHO…

"Getting value"? Wow! Can't count how many times I've been reading a thread and an link to this post shows up. Usually, it is at a time when *I* also need to reread it to remind myself of the basics. When I "think" I have it figured out, or an struggling, hitting a roadblock, stagnant...here comes SexyPants! IMO, this…
