Yup. I max at 30 during keto. Keto = protein at or below lean body mass. So if youre 90lbs lean mass its 90g protein roughly. Range can be 80-100. Carbs <30 if you can make it. <50 may be alright, you'll have to experiment Rest of the calories come from fats. Doesn't matter what it is. If you're doing it for medical…

When it comes to shakes, take em before not after. The amino acid pool has good cognitive effects on training and keep fatigue from setting in by offsetting the BCAA-tryptophan balance in the blood brain barrier. Too much food in the system robs the rest of the body from much needed oxygen in the blood stream and causes…

This. My pumps are way better when fasted but mentally I feel more in it with some calories in me. Call it my sword and shield when entering battle. I would avoid fats, a small protein and carb meal is better for performance. More simple forms of carbs are better pre workout so that banana is a good choice. In low carb…

Second this one.

At this point I'm pretty good at eyeing up whats on my plate and roughly estimating the macro nutrients on there and just assuming its a ton of sodium. I eat to what fits my macros and try to order very plainly.

Subbed for answers! I love my food processor. Get 2 packed cups of fresh basil 1/2c olive oil 1/2oz walnuts 2 cloves garlic 1tsp lemon juice oregano, salt, pepper, and thyme to taste BAM! Fresh pesto. And so diet friendly. Then boil a bunch of cauliflower, throw it in there with low fat cream cheese and that pesto, spin…

I hate appetite suppressants. I rely on food to help me reach my goals why would I deprive myself of it?

^This. Although there are plenty of biochemical happenings from food which will contribute to poor cognitive ability not all with "eating dirty." There are plenty of ways to ruin your mental well-being while "eating clean." 1) Trans fatty acids block neuroreceptors ability to uptake signaling molecules and decrease…

It really comes down to this: larger calorie deficit. And if you're goal is to slim down like that - lift weights and lift heavy, cardio is useless. The smart thing to do: eat slightly above maintenance, create deficit through exercise. The dumb thing to do: eat under maintenance, try to exercise for further weight loss.
-
It does set protein stupid low. And sets carbs stupid high.

Good thread thus far. It looks like you have long legs which makes you prone to bowing them out. How tall are you? A lot of your squat form really depends on your build. Some people who are taller or with longer legs can't dip below the 90 nor should they. It also depends on what part you're trying to focus in on. A few…

Coconut oil. I could eat the jar. That and peanut butter. I love fats :)

All depends on your diet. But Insanity is pretty much super cardio. With that being said: resistance training is superior to cardio.

Agree with circumstances. Yes, lots of benefits to fruit - I (usually) eat 2-3 servings worth. But epidemiology also links constant insulin release induced by foods with coronary heart disease, diabetes, hyperinsulinemia, high blood pressure, and a plethora of other things. Sugar is sugar it doesn't matter where it came…

Noooo waaay. You're not going out on a limb, that's just factual. 2hrs of triathalon training 5-6 days a week? If I were you I'd be eating MINIMUM 2000 and thats just to maintain.
-
Fats or veggies if you must. Carbs and protein are insulinogenic and will blunt GH release during sleep. Honestly, I would just let it pass.

NO. /thread

Agreed. I doesn't matter. Just be consistent with meal times to keep grehlin at bay. And give yourself a few hours between final meal and bed.

Under no circumstance is sugar required in human diet. The only time it's beneficial is when immediate energy source would be needed to improve performance such as before exercise or an exam. Sugar = insulin secretion. Frequent induced insulin sensitivity = insulin resistance = chronic health conditions.

Tempting? Since when was undereating tempting? The human body requires 1500 calories/day to sustain normal body function either coming from diet or self, regardless of stats. By health means, we can live on a 15% deficit but anything >20% for long periods of time compromise well being. IN the event of such a diet where the…

Sure. But its not a good idea.

Shes probably gone nuts from toxoplasma gondii with those cats - hence why shes naked in the snow. If you're happy with an extra 10lbs on you and everything "under the hood" (a/k/a blood chemistries, EKG, etc) is fine, then good for you, so be it, nothing wrong with that. (Besides, I like my girls with curves). But I think…

Because the body requires surplus protein if it's going to build anything. How can you build a house addition if you only have enough wood to fix the siding? Generally speaking man needs 0.8-1.0g protein/lbs body weight to support turnover daily. Depending on how active you are and your goals you need to eat anywhere from…

It's flawed, stupid, and downright dangerous. No one can hold this diet and even if you did lose the weight yo're just gonna come off of it putting on that weight again plus 10lbs. The human body requires minimal 1500 calories to carry out all basic metabolic functions each day. So why the *kitten* would anyone find it…

Yeah sure "starvation mode" will come if youre nothing but skin and bone but if you still have weight to drop then that's far from a reality. It's not starvation rather than the body fighting back and storing everything it gets thinking it's not gonna get much of anything else. The weight lost will come from bone and…

I've seen men and women in their 50's and 60's with bodies that are fit for a museum art show. In fact, I like them better. Just gotta stop snacking while cooking, or don't cook when you're hungry! Prepare food ahead of time. I make all my food on Sunday and just allot it as needed through the week with the occasional…

Be counter culture!!! It's fun, trust me. Just by eating right and exercising you've effectively made yourself different than the average American... why stop there?
-
Thats complete BS. Where are you pulling this garbage from? The body requires rest either if its adequate sleep or just a damn day off. Kind of funny coming from someone with no photo while the rest of us show physique. So, who's this 20+ years you've got? An internet blog?

If I donate 5 times at work I get an extra vacation day :) I donate regularly.

I'm rather anti-carb for overall health reasons although for general short term weight loss it doesn't matter. Certainly a high-carb diet is just asking for heart disease though.
