I've always thought its a little better to workout in the afternoon as you are a little more warmed up. However, I think you need to examine your sleep. Lack of sleep will hurt you long term. There is tons of good advice out there, but shutting off screens, darkening the room and removing electronics is a start.

6-8, sleep is critically important for longevity.

Your best bet for lunch is cook some extra lean meat whenever you do cook (steak, pork, fish) and store it in your fridge and then use it instead of chicken. Hard boil a bunch of eggs for breakfast whenever and then grab a couple. Its fast, satiating, protein packed and tons of micronutrients in the yolks.

Not true. As long as you don't over eat carbs your liver very much can control blood sugar in a 24 hour period regardless of meal timing.
-
I would up your carbs to 100-150 grams per day that is enough to keep you comfortably out of ketosis.

1 heart of romaine, 1 cup of frozen blueberries, 1 scoop of protein powder, any liquid

I've tried not counting and I've never been successful losing weight. I think that if you want to lose weight you should adopt that style of eating, whole foods, but still do CICO. Whenever I want to lose weight that is how I do it.

I meant carbs, but you can over consume carbs and/or calories. The OP was asking specifically if carbs are the enemy.
-
Carbs are not the enemy. Over consumption of carbs is the problem. Very low carb (keto) diets are fashionable right now, but they are not magic and potentially harmful over the long term. Most people are going to be best off out of dietary ketosis, but not consuming alot more carbs than necessary to accomplish that. A good…

Look up the book "How to Fix Your Back and Neck Pain" by Robin Mckenzie. Excellent and helped me alot

Much easier for me to hit my workouts early in the morning. After work with kids its just too crazy. I wake up at 5 work out for about an hour, make breakfast for the kids and am out at 7:45

The UFC just published weight loss guidelines to their athletes (they have a huge interest in stopping fights from cancelling due to fighters missing weight) They suggested no more than 3% of body weight per week to prevent muscle loss. I thought that was incredibly aggressive, although these are elite athletes that are…

I'm married with 5 kids, 42 YO. Have struggled in the past with stress/anxiety related eating. My motivation is to be the best dad/husband I can be and hopefully enjoy my time when my professional career is over. SW: 210 CW: 200 GW: 170 Go ahead and add me if you want.

I have dealt with a herniated S1 for years. I have had success with the following: Mckenzie Method of Physical Therapy Network Chiropractic I still see the Chiropractic and do the PT exercises. Google both methods for more information. I paid the money for an MRI and feel it was worth it to know for sure what I was dealing…

That's entirely not necessary. Just start reading the getting started posts and go from there.

Wake up at 5 AM knock out a 30 minute kettlebell workout and can be out of the house at 7 if need be. Kettlebells are very effective in short amounts of time.

Amazing transformation

Its science bro.... Seriously though most people get really emotionally connected to their way of eating and its kind of hopeless to get them to change unless they are coming to you asking for information.
-
Might want to talk to your doctor about a referral to Physical Therapy.
-
I'm not judging. Every pinned Getting Started thread suggests doing exercise you enjoy. The OP is clearly not running because they enjoy it. Its no different than careers. Imagine two people in the same job. One goes to work everyday hates it and is just there to collect a paycheck on Friday. The other person enjoys their…

Exercise for reward is not optimal. Try to run because it is enjoyable.

My answer would be...yes. Stretch before and after.

1 lb per week is still progress. It doesn't look like you've really used MFP. I suggest going to the getting started community and reading the pinned threads there about how to properly use MFP starting with sexypants.

That diet is short in some essential nutrients. You should think about some Omega 3 supplements and some vitamins as a minimum. I'm not an expert in vegan nutrition but you need to research how to do it successfully.
-
I have used the Mckenzie Method of physical therapy for low back paint. The book is You can try 7 Steps to a Pain Free Life, but I would recommend seeing a PT: http://www.mckenzieinstitute.org/

The OP can decide for themselves if they care. Its a known side effect for sure
-
Yea, there is plenty to make the OP aware that it could be a concern.
