Friday fitness: Hope to get on that bike again this weekend, weather permitting. Rain in the forecast which we desperately need, but dang it, I haven't been on that bike all week due to late nights at school this week! :grumble: I've managed to get the morning and evening doggie walks in which I never even used to do…

Thursday truth: I have an obsession with the scales. I weigh every day. This week I was up 2 pounds on Sunday, then down two pounds on Monday, then up 2 pounds on Wednesday, then down 2 pounds today! No kidding! My weigh-in day is Saturday, and I'm doing everything in my power not to let the scales run my life, but I…

@skinnyjeans ~ Man, I hear ya! We started school last week, and spent Monday and Tuesday in all day meetings. When do you think the kids came? You guessed it! Wednesday! I guess I shouldn't be complaining since I do get the summer off and all, but we have contract days, darn it, and shouldn't have to spend them in meetings…

@taratruex ~ Woot! Woot! I look forward to the day when I can get out of the 200 club! I have been struggling the last couple of weeks. I've been doing everything right and gained 2 pounds. Well, I finally lost those 2 pounds and then 2 more! I think the key for me is to eat around 1500 calories a day. Eating back the…

Monday Check-in: Good weekend. Rode my bike 19 miles on Saturday and 10 miles on Sunday. :smokin: Did well watching my diet, so all is good. I get impatient with the scale, though. I need to drink more water and now that I am back at school, it is even harder for me to get it in. All you teachers out there know as soon as…

@shygur ~ Your story is truly inspiring. I looked at your pictures on your profile, and WOW! I can sure tell a difference! Your dedication is admirable! @Robin ~ I am a 6th grade special education teacher in Kearney, Nebraska.

Did we lose Skinnyjeans? I haven't seen her post. @karenleona ~ I share your disappointment in no bike riding. That is my favorite form of exercise! I am rooting for your recovery so you can get back on the bike! @andreabeatty ~ a phalarope is a bird. It breeds in the prairies of North America in western Canada and the…

Saturday success: Well, somehow for the last 2 weeks I was up 2 pounds. Not sure how that happened, but today I finally lost those blasted 2 pounds! Hope the scale moves down this week. This was my first week back after having the summer off. It's been busy, busy, busy, but I managed to get in my morning doggie walk before…

Well, OK...I started back to work this week after having the summer off, haven't found time to get on this thread, and feel like I missed something! Anyway, thanks lauriek70 for the e-mail. I have been absolutely swamped getting back into the swing of school! I've managed to get up early every morning and take my little…

@Believe1213 ~ You can do it! I went back to school when my daughter was in preschool, and my son was in 3rd grade. I remember being terrified but took one day at a time. You will be glad you did! @SanID ~ I am a special education teacher (6th grade). My son (now 28) has a mild mental handicap. When he was a toddler, I…

@monarchris ~ Congrats for fitting into your 3XL a little easier! Woot! Woot! It's funny that you should mention how your waist measurement seems to be down in your hips. When I belonged to WW, I watched a woman lose a lot of weight, and it seemed she lost from the face down. She literally got thin face first, then waist,…

@vinsonh42 ~ The excitement you exude in your posts is contagious! Sure does make me upbeat! I'm so glad you get to see your baby sister soon! I loved your cupcake story! @monarchris ~ This scenario with your son sounds similar to what I experience with my DIL! I've gotten so tired of the drama that I've started putting my…

Friday fitness: I continue to walk the dog morning and night then ride my bike after the morning walk. I need to do some upper body training, too, but haven't. I love bike riding too much!!! I'm off to school this afternoon to set up my classroom. It's back to work Monday, so I will have to change my exercise routine…

@needamulligan ~ I sometimes add an 1/8 cup of raw oatmeal to my yogurt. Both granola and oatmeal will add "crunch" to yogurt that I like, but the oatmeal doesn't add the sugar that granola does.

The whole net calorie thing confuses me, so I'm posting to save this forum. I've found it quite helpful! Sometimes I earn back 1,000 calories from a long bike ride but have a hard time grasping the concept that I can eat those back! :noway:

@alleycat ~ I don't think I like your MIL :grumble: @monarchris ~ My daughter used to take Ambien, and she ate in the middle of the night without even realizing it, too. Weird. It's great that MFP seem to have helped you with that. @Jadslat ~ How does MFP compare to WW? Just curious, since MFP is free and WW is not.…

Tuesday goal: Just want to keep on keepin' on! Don't want to lose this thread! I've found I don't have time to post, but I read through the posts often! You all are very motivating!

My friend's husband has this, and he had an attack so bad one time (in the middle of the night) that he had to go to the hospital!

I experienced vertigo last summer. I was finishing up my Master's degree and was taking two very intense grad classes. If I turned my head or stood up suddenly, the room would spin. I went to the doctor, and he called it a certain name which I can't remember. It is an inner ear problem and whatever it was can be triggered…

Hi, Snoozie! My husband was diagnosed with adult onset diabetes. He got his under control by diet and exercise. He cut out all carbs and sugars as much as he could, and got it under control and lost 40 pounds! He slipped last Christmas, and his blood sugar went up so he reluctantly went on medication. Since he's been on…

Wyocoke ~ You should check out the forum, "Women Ages 50+ for July 2012." It's a good one! Actually, nevermind! I see you already have. I wish there was a way to delete a post!

Saturday is my check-in day. I weigh myself twice on these days and take the lowest weight. (Obsessive, I know!) I weigh first thing in the morning after using the bathroom then again after I've showered. I always weigh 1 pound less after I shower! Why is that??? I know I'm not washing off one pound of dirt!

Hi! I'm 54 years old and need to lose 100+ pounds. In the past, I was a member of Curves and lost 70 pounds, but I've gained 30 back! I joined MFP two days ago, and I'm hoping this will help me get back on track!

I know the miseries of knee pain. I had terrible arthritis in my knees. I could do circuit training and bike riding, but walking was out of the question. I, too, used a shopping cart to lean on while at the store. In June, 2009, I had a total knee replacement on my left knee. In June, 2010, I had a total knee replacement…
