OP: Thank you for posting this! I didn't know about this option. I've wanted to do roller derby, but I'm not sure my fitness is where it needs to be. I think I could swing this, and it looks like there's one in my area. Thanks again!

I distract myself with doing dishes or laundry or something semi-productive at home. There's always something that needs to be done. This has also cut down on how much TV I watch, so two good things came of that.

I get up at 4 on workout days. The key for me is going to bed on time and having everything laid out the night before. My alarm goes off and I get out of bed before I can start to talk myself out of it. Momentum!

I only run outside. The treadmill freaks me out. It is tough to run on pavement, but at least I feel like I'm getting somewhere!

My marriage is very important to me. I make it a point to stay out of everyone else's relationships. Do what makes you happy.

I'm in love with Thug Kitchen. Recipes written the way I talk! The chickpea tacos were so good, and I've bookmarked so many others to try. Can't wait for the book!

Nerd Fitness has free workouts. Also, Pinterest actually has a bunch of bodyweight and simple at-home workouts you can search for. You can always walk or run, too. And high school/college tracks are usually open in the morning if you want to change things up a bit.

I had a doctor this year tell me that the only way I'd ever lose significant weight is to have surgery. Now I'm on a mission to prove her wrong. It's a battle for every.single.pound. But I feel like it's worth the fight. There's some good advice above, and I hope you can take some of it to heart. You can do this, but it…

A giant salad with lentils, cucumber, tomatoes, mushrooms, and bell peppers.

Congrats! I know what a big deal that is. Great job!

Mastering your bodyweight is a bad@ss thing to do, too. If you don't want to lift, no one's saying you have to. Bodyweight work is tough, and there are tons of variations to keep it challenging as you get stronger. Nerd Fitness and Convict Conditioning have great workouts and video examples.

I add lemon or lime slices to a giant bottle of water and work on that all day. Or I'll add the ends of a cucumber and crumple up a mint leaf to throw in there. It changes up the flavor and makes it less boring. Experiment a little and you might find something that makes it more appetizing.

Commit to building consistency. I get up at 4 a.m. to work out most days. Once it's done, it's done and I can move on with my day.

I'm a big fan of Brooks. They just work really well for me. But I'd suggest going to a running store that does an analysis of your feet and stride. That helped me know what to look for.

I made some white bean and red pepper hummus. It's pretty tasty.

I find that if I drink through a straw, I tend to drink more and drink faster. Lemon, lime, and cucumber slices help change it up, too. If it's something you want to do, you'll find a way to get it done.

To wear sleeveless tops and dresses To feel confident and comfortable in my skin

Mine flares up with stress and alcohol (dang it!). I'm trying to cut out dairy now for another reason, but I'll be curious to see if it helps with this problem, too. Getting out in the sun helps a little, but honestly, the only thing that has worked for me is steroid cream. Aveeno helps maintain balance once it's gone.

   Damn, I loves me some Otter!!   Congrats on your success so far. I love following your adventures and I'm always inspired by your stories, your energy, and your confidence. Can't wait to see what's next for you.

I cannot run on a treadmill! I don't know what it is, but my body cannot figure it out. And I remember trying to run at 5 mph and there's no way I could sustain that pace. So, when I started running, at 250, I did Couch to 5K outside. I love that program. Like others have said, it eases you into it and you start to find…

Wow. Awesome! Happy birthday and congrats on kicking so much @ss!

Nerd Fitness has free body weight routines, too. Starting Strength is a great book, as others have said.
-
Wow. Super badass! Congrats and thanks for sharing your pics!

I agree with the swimdress posts above. There are some really cute ones! I got mine from Amazon for a great price. Maybe try on a few cover-up-type things at stores, too. Sounds like a fun trip ahead of you - find something you'll be comfortable playing in.

I'm the biggest, slowest person in my bootcamp. The first few weeks, I could barely make it through class without feeling like I was gonna barf and I was so sore the next day. But, for me, it's all about momentum. I thought if I could stick with it for 6 weeks, show up at every class, modify the moves however I needed to…

Good stuff here! Thanks for sharing.

Bump to remember recipes

Superhero style! Way to go, girl.

Thank you! That gives me something to go on and research further. Right now, I'm doing a boot camp 3 times a week, burning an average of 400 calories per session (says my HRM), and I just started lifting with a plan for 2 days a week. My weight loss has always been super duper slow, so I can't tell yet if this new exercise…

This is so inspiring! Makes me want to throw something heavy across the room. Love!
