Not true, or at least not totally true. Google "calorie cycling".

I don't like calling them cheat days. What's been working for me, though, is thinking of it as a weekly calorie goal/limit as others have said. I "save" up calories for Sundays, and then I eat what I want on Sunday, up to the number of extra calories I've saved. I virtually never eat them all. I am also still losing weight…

Yes- it's true!!!!!!!!!!

I am interested to see this because I was thinking of trying yoga! Maybe I will!

That's fantastic! Congratulations!

You can have MFP track your vitamin A, vitamin C etc. Do that and show it to him :) I eat a lot of fruit and go "over" on vitamins pretty frequently.

That's awesome! It reminds me of one time a number of years ago when I had lost weight and I went to my brother's house for a party with a bunch of his friends. One of them didn't even recognize me- thought my brother had two sisters!!
-
That's GREAT!! I think you can even put your daughter's comment to good use. Tell her how beautiful she is - and how you hope the two of you can stick together to maintain your slender waistlines for years to come!!

Lots of great advice- thanks for taking the time to put your thoughts into words!!

You are absolutely right!!!!!!!!! Having said that though- try to keep in mind that people generally mean well and are trying to be helpful. And take it like that. I am a physician- and EVERY TIME I get sick you would not believe (or you probably would believe) how many of my non-medical friends come and give me MEDICAL…

Yep I agree.

I put protein powder in an empty jar and take it to the gym with me, so that I can mix it with cool water from the cooler and drink it after my workout. SOmetimes (often, really) I put in a spoon or two (a partial serving) of powdered skim milk as well.

Looks yummy! I'm bookmarking it!

Exactly.

What determines water weight gain is sodium intake, not water intake. Having said that, you are right- if you have water weight gain for 3 weeks you should have swollen ankles by now! It's probably not it. I have been there and have the following suggestions: 1> Eat your exercise calories, BUT make sure they are fairly…

Ummm- I think you should go to the doctor. If you are sick as described, you are probably burning fewer calories and that may be why you are not losing weight. So- get checked, OK?
-
Ooh - this sounds yummy!

Haha bump. I have mid-length hair and it gets HOT at the gym. Problem is if I put it in a ponytail then on some of the weight machines (like where you have to lie down or even just put your head back) the pony tail is in the way and gets totally messed up.

I second this. Also it would be great if you could add more exercise of some sort. That would allow you to burn more calories so that you lose weight. Good job getting started on it now! Oh one more thing- be VERY wary of serving sizes. I don't have a scale but a lot of people do, and they meticulously weigh every single…

I'm 49 - and just got back to my college weight!!!!!!!! Now working on building muscle. I'm definitely in, along with my goal to do real pushups before my 50th!!
-
Yumm. I am definitely going to play with this!
-
Awesome! I'm excited- real pushups are a goal for me too- and I also just started weight training about 3 weeks ago!
-
Thanks, everybody!!
-
Great- thanks!

bump:laugh:

Me too, exactly.

Focus more on supporting your friends, and less on whether they support you. You will find that 1> Lots of them will quit. 2> You will get to know some of them over time, and you will support each other. I have been here for over a year and love it. For the first 6 months or so I did not have any "friends" but then…

Hey- don't give up!! Remind yourself of what you really want- a healthy life, a long life, a nice figure- whatever it is! Use that to motivate you! And use MFP to figure out how to enjoy the foods you really want- in moderation, keeping with your long term goals. One of the great things that MFP has done for me is help me…

Yumm- I want to try it! IDK if there are sugar free apricot preserves here though. But probably there is something.
