I would think that they would be great as well for someone who needs stability due to weight, poor knees, etc. I'm contemplating a pair for myself because I have totaled my ankles more than once.

Ghiradelli makes an awesome chocolate with sea salt. Look for their varieties. I haven't met one that I don't really like (except white chocolate mint....I don't like white chocolate OR mint).

Add us as friends! We like to motivate! YOU CAN DO THIS!

"My weight loss is monitored by me and my physician. When my physician thinks that I am at my proper weight, then I will go from a weight loss cycle to a maintenance one. But thanks for your concern."

All of this. Do what is best for YOU.

I'm here to help, as well. I don't have a support system at home. I have two kids and am going through a divorce. I am also over 200 lbs. Can you tell by my avatar that I like animals? Most days, I feel like the gazelle. Just sent you a friend add.

If you know that boyfriend will eat something the sons won't, how about using them for a topping that can be left off? (Raw bell pepper comes to mind.) I also find that there are things that I will eat in one form, but won't touch in another form. (Sweet potato chips, OK. Baked sweet potatoes. NOT.)

Boy, you are not kidding! I agree, use loss leaders to find the proteins on sale and plan your meals around that. Look for ways that you can take the same things they are eating and make them healthier. (Ex: baked instead of fried)

You need to take care of YOU. So many times, moms will sacrifice everything for their kids, only to lose their own identity. I know that it hurts a little, especially to leave an 8 week old baby, just to exercise. Think about the long term: How are you improving the life of your babies by taking control of your health?…

I got the eating bug when I worked for an upscale hotel. I had gone from eating canned this and cheap that to being introduced to wonderful new foods! You might say that I have champagne tastes with a beer budget. Factor in a kid who is gluten free and a Vitamix found its way into my life!

I am new here, as well. I am using this as a learning opportunity. I just know that if I continue to do what I do and expect a different result, that is INSANITY. I am looking for friends going through the same thing.

I, too, battle with depression. Thank you for posting this. Thanks for keeping it REAL.

Way to go! You are an inspiration to those of us who haven't been at this for very long. I am new to the process and am looking for friends. I would love to be able to have people in my list who can be of encouragement.

Would like to become friends with vegetarians/vegans. While I am a meat eater, I recognize the fact that: I don't get enough calories from veggies I don't get enough nutrition from veggies I get bored with the veggies taste the same way, time and time again. If anyone wants to add me as a friend, feel free. Annie

You are an inspiration and are giving me the encouragement to do this! Thanks for posting this!

Way to go!

I'm trying not to concentrate on how I look. I'm trying to concentrate on the emotional stuff instead. I'm asking myself questions such as: What was emotionally going on that made me stop caring for myself? Why did I think that I was less important? What do I need to change to change this thinking? What is my payoff for…

Not a mom of twins, but a mom of two. I gained weight with each pregnancy that I did not lose. When I first got pregnant, I was an underweight 137 lbs. As of my last weigh in, I am well over 200 lbs. I need to start taking care of myself. My excuses are over, as my youngest baby is almost 16! You can add me as a friend if…

Thank you for posting this! This is all too raw, as a dear friend of mine lost her son to suicide in June. It knows no age, social status, race, or creed. I am not sure what to feel or how to even feel it all right now. As a teenager, I experienced suicidal feelings. Instead of dealing with it in a quick way, I dealt with…

Way to go! You are doing freakin' awesome!

I feel for his family and close friends. To endure a loss is one thing, but to endure one when the death could have been prevented is another.

Great job! Keep it going! You can do this!

Thanks for the laugh! It's sad, but true!

Even if you are nine calories under for the day. What else am I going to eat, yet not go over?
-
I HOPE I get to this point. I'm early on in this process. I'm just trying to concentrate on logging food for a couple of weeks and then slowly ease in the exercise.
-
I did this with chili.

And here I thought someone would say that they would wait until the actual end of the day, wait for the clock to strike midnight, and then eat a bowl of Cheerios and log it on the next day. GUILTY.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Hang in there!

I would love to know more, as my oldest son is gluten free. I am also interested in making healthy snacks. I'm a meat eater, but am definitely looking at food choices where meat is NOT the star.
