  • Great news that you're seeing dramatic improvement. Hope you get the full recovery.
  • I saw in the New Year too :-) Had a Hawaiian party at my local pub complete with a bit of limbo and hula  Completed my first B workout today and I love it! Saw a record number of ladies in the gym too, none of them went anywhere near the free weights though lol I also much prefer Stage 3 and I'm glad to be back…
  • Happy New Year ladies! Back from my holidays, had a wonderful Christmas and Birthday away skiing but now it's back to the routine and I'm back at work...boohoo! I've also put on 2kgs over the last 10 days despite not having gained or lost anything on this whole program so far - so that was a blow although I'm not surprised…
  • Congratulations! Kudos for putting the time and commitment into the long term gain. I'm really happy for you! Happy Holidays
  • I too do 3 sets. I find the overhead squat very challenging too, but I quite like it and much prefer it to the dreaded lunges/split squats! My deltoids are still very sore today after Monday's workout (beginning to think I didn't grab the DB tight enough and allowed my delts to take most of the weight?). Think I'll just do…
  • Finally made it to the gym tonight for my 1st Stage 3 workout 12 days after finishing Stage 2. I'm so glad I did, I feel really pumped/knackered! I've been struggling a bit with my motivation (I'm a proper bah humbug lol). Been eating horribly what with works Christmas meals etc and had family over for the weekend which…
  • Was supposed to have started my first workout of this stage on Wed this week, but I've been so busy getting Christmas shopping done and yesterday/today packing boxes for an office move at work I'm exhausted and I'm struggling to keep my eyes open! I have family visiting this weekend, but will try to get a session in if I…
  • Woohoo! - Stage 2 done, not a stage I particularly enjoyed but I think I'm not alone in thinking that! FSPP: 20kgs - 22.5kgs (45lbs - 50lbs) Step-up: 20kgs/10 reps on step - 20kgs/10reps on bench (45lbs) Dumbbell One Point Row: 8kgs (17.5llbs) each hand - 9kgs (20lbs) each hand Static lunge, rear foot elevated: 20kgs…
  • If it was me, I'd try to get the incline angle using a swiss ball.
  • Sue - I note you say you're working to strengthen your ankles, but I thought I'd share one of the exercises that I did which I feel may help with your ankle stability. My physio 6yrs ago when I sprained my ankle, told me to stand on one leg, knee slightly bent and then throw a beach ball or similar against a wall 10 times…
  • Well done Sue! You're killing the FSPP! I did 3 sets of 6 instead of 2 sets of 10 today on the FSPP and static lunges and you're right I too felt like I got more out of it that way! Well I did my last A workout today. Will post up results when I've done my B workout on Wednesday. Now on to my confession lol. As those…
  • Some very impressive numbers ladies, and congrats on finishing Stage 2! I should be in the gym today, but I had more Friday night beer than I should have, so will go tomorrow instead in the hope of being finished with Stage 2 on Tues. Suelegal - I agree, it's really interesting to see how different everyone's strengths are…
  • I'm half way through and seem to have gone the other way, from 3 to 2 per week - which is annoying as I'd like to be done with this stage. Must try harder!
  • Yeah it's tough to find the balance point with the weights, you need to drop the weight a little to get your stability, then build from there. That's what worked for me me anyhow.
  • Nice stats Holley, great job! I did 2nd B workout last night with the speed cats which were much better on my feet, but boy was I tired, nearly fell off the step on the reverse lunge with forward reach as my legs were so tired, the abs exercises were a relief in comparison! My legs and shoulders are feeling pretty stiff…
  • Thanks for the info! So you don't wear your orthotics when lifting then? Will try my Speed Cats tonight which are also very flat and thin soled, without the orthotics and see how I go. Hope you're back to your best again very soon :flowerforyou: At least you can enjoy Thanksgiving without feeling guilty about going to the…
  • I have some puma speed cats that I use as driving shoes on track days. I'll give them a try tomorrow
  • Congratulations on a job well done!!! :drinker:
  • Did my 2nd A workout today. I'm with AprilRenewed and prefer workout B to workout A. Did the FSPP much better today with the oly bar, but my wrists were definitely aching when I'd finished. Will try to put a little bit of weight on the bar for my next workout. Struggled with the lunges on my right leg only. The inside…
  • I think this is why you should always start the set with your non-dominant leg, you then work the dominant leg which won't be as fresh as you will have unavoidably used some energy on the set you've just done on your non-dominant leg. That's my take on it anyhow :)
  • Well done - that's the spirit! I certainly got braver towards the end knowing I was doing less reps.
  • livlovra - way to go and THANK YOU!!! I was undecided whether to go to the gym tonight as I too was up against it and by the time I'd eaten dinner it was already late but didn't want to go tomorrow and miss Friday night beers  I saw your last post and it gave me the kick I needed to get there :drinker: First B…
  • First WO of Stage 2 done today  Thanks to the great advice on this thread, I was really careful with the FSPP particularly as my wrists aren't very strong. I managed the first 8 reps of the 1st set OK using just the oly bar. Concentrated really hard on form but struggled with the last 2 which were awful - got my…
  • Well I was going to start this stage today, I'd even practised the moves for the A workout before I left the house lol, but car problems meant I couldn't get to the gym  So I did some press ups (off the floor!! - go me!) and some swiss ball & BW exercises. Will definitely get to the gym tomorrow.
  • Finished Stage 1 last night. Stats: Squat 20kgs (Oly bar) -> 35kgs (77lbs) push ups 45 degress -> 10 degrees (bar across the bottom of the cable crossover machine) seated row 20kgs (44lbs) -> 30kgs (66lbs) Step ups 10kgs (22lbs) -> 20kgs (44lbs) prone jackknife 2 sets of 8 -> 3 sets of 15 Deadlift 20kgs (Oly bar) ->…
  • Well done Lemonaiding - please let us know how you find it 2nd time around  Fantastic work KaraGrr! Did you stick just to the workouts or do you do extra cardio?
  • Way to go Okidoki :drinker: I have one more workout to go on Stage 1. Don't think I will have lost any weight as I only need to lose a few lbs, for me it's about shaping up and losing body fat. Will definitely be taking more measurements at the end of this stage so I can track my progress better in the coming stages.
  • Stage1 WO B9 done today. Kept good form and did the lat pulldowns very controlled and almost slowly, to maximise the resistance as I can't go up 5kgs yet. I nearly went flying off the back of the swiss ball doing extended crunches with 5kg medicine ball - leaned too far back and gave myself and my upper abs a right old…
  • Eek! That's the middle of the night for me! I'm definitely not a morning person and would probably injure myself doing something stupid whilst half asleep! I go to the gym after work if my lifting day is a working day, otherwise I'll go around 10-11am.
