This is what I did: When I started last August I only watched my calories/fat. I was aware of the other things but was unaware I was really supposed to pay close attention to them. Just watching cals/fat (and working out of course) I lost 37 pounds. Then I became interested in the other numbers and realized my sodium was…

Well done! I hope you had a great time while you were there too!

I have a daughter very close to your age so this pulls at my heart strings. You are beautiful. Keep doing what you are doing. Losing that much would make you to thin and you don't want to do that to yourself. Concentrate on your current physical activities and do your absolute best in your studies. Nothing is more…

LMAO! Oh I'd be in heaven if I could do that. If you can do alcohol in moderation than by all means partake :) I gave up wine and after last weeks National Margarita Day (and I hadn't had one in months!) I've now decided no more of those either! I'm down to a Select 55 Beer a couple of nights a week. That's it. Booooo!

I just want to add...is that YOU in your avatar? (hey, it could be your fav golf person :)) If that is you, I think you are perfect! Woman to woman the person in that picture doesn't need to loose any weight.

HI there. I've been here since last August. While on my journey I've had weeks where I was really under on my cals. Off week, not hungry, busy...whatever. Those weeks I LOST NO WEIGHT. Despite being 400-800 a day UNDER on my cals. The weeks that I eat it all including my exercise cals I lost weight. I'm completely serious.…

Either the night before or early in the day. It's all about good planning. Think about your bank account. Do you spend first and THEN look to see if you really had the money there to spend? For me calories are the same concept. I don't want to spend what I don't have.

Very nice! Good for you for trying a new thing too! You should be super proud :)

As a family yes, that's all we eat out. Hubby and I both work from home (unless we are traveling) so just he and I also eat out for lunch about 1x a month as well. I've become hyper aware of the way restaurants prepare food-COATED in butter and salt. I can't stand not knowing EXACTLY what is in my food and being able to…

THIS THIS THIS!!! Well said!

Try picking a focal point and keep your eyes on it. This helps me anyway. When I first started on the treadmill back in July I held on but slowly I started letting go, increasing the speed and the incline and now I can walk at a 10-12 incline and 4.2-4.6 speed for 45 minutes straight. The only time I touch the treadmill is…

I've already purchased 2 wrap dresses! I haven't worn in a dress in, well, about 10 years! Seriously! Both the dresses I bought are really thin material and show every bump, lump and otherwise "extra". I WILL rock those dresses as soon as the weather warms up!

Great post! And I totally agree! It's funny that this same idea rings true for life in general. We work hard at our jobs for that paycheck or or that big promotion. We work hard at raising our children so we have kids who are polite and respectful. We work hard at our relationships so we are loving and committed........we…

We only eat out about once every 4-6 weeks so when we do I use it as more of a fun treat for the kids and not worry about where its coming from. Our favorite place is our local Chinese or Little Ceasars Pizza. Personally I LOVE Panera Bread. Plus they have their calories posted which is great. We live in VA and I travel…

For me working out is as much about keeping me sane as it is about weight loss. Yes, as a mom and wife we are on 24/7, even when we aren't with our families. I struggled with depression for YEARS and honestly the only thing I have found that truly keeps the demons away is my daily gym routine. I am a better mom, wife,…

You rock!!! I also have to say the more you lost the younger you look! Great job girl!

I go through moods. Lately I could listen to You and I by lady gaga over and over while working out.

That's the only brand I like too! The vanilla is yummy as well.

While I understand rest days are good I personally don't like them. If I don't work out I feel lazy and grumpy. I only take a day off from the gym if I'm out of town or family obligations totally prevent me from going. It works for me.

Great video! You have done a fantastic job! Good for you for getting healthy while you are young.

Great Group! My girls are 15, 12 & 11. My 15 and 12 year olds have gym memberships and they go with me on Saturday mornings. As soon as my youngest turns 12 we'll get her a membership too. I tell them what time I am going and that is that. If my husband is home he prefers to go later on Saturday so if the kids have the…

Turning 40 in August have 3 daughters. I am self employed and work A LOT. Add me! I am AMPED that by the time I turn 40 in 6 short months I will be in the best shape of my life!!

Personally when I do things like meatloaf I don't cook it before I freeze it therefore I have to bake it in the oven on the night we eat it. If you cook it before freezing than you can nuke your dinner portions. Whatever works best for you.

Yesterday was NATIONAL MARGARITA DAY! Did you know that? I didn't either until I googled it. Well, I couldn't pass that up! Especially since it's been months since I had one. LOVE margaritias!! Didn't love them as much upon waking up this morning-ugh. Had a clean breakfast and ignored the bacon in the fridge. Got my butt…

I looked at my life. I married my soul mate-17 years in August! We have 3 smart, healthy, well adjusted daughters. My husband and I have made decent career choices and we are financially ok. Life is pretty darn good:heart: So what's next? I'll be 40 in August. I'm going to do it with Gusto!! For me, my life in general is…

Spaghetti Sauce Meatloaf (Make them up in foil containers you can throw in the oven-easy clean up too!) Enchiliadas (again in foil containers) Make a whole turkey on your day off and freeze in meal size portions. Just reheat and add a side dish. That's all I can think of right now :)

Your husband is smiling down on your from Heaven. Your son is a very lucky little boy to have such an inspiring mommy.

If I'm being honest my very first opinion when I read your post was "he's not the marrying kind". Congrats on your weight loss! If your bf can't be supportive of something like getting healthy how is he going to act when it comes to things like choosing a new career, going back to school, buying a house, parenting a…

Personally I like it. It keeps me firmly accountable for both my cals in and cals out. I find it fascinating and I hope I always do. This is the 3rd time on the roller coaster ride and with any luck my last (my first time with mfp). I find I wake up every morning and look forward to logging.

5 oz of wine. Who in the heck ONLY drinks a little more than 1/2 cup when consuming wine?
