It's cool. I bought a dress for a wedding in May 2009 and wore it again for a wedding in June 2010. I hulked out of it on the way to the ceremony (tore right at the zipper), had to get safety pins and were late for the ceremony. Had to go buy a new dress before the reception... and I STILL didn't get it until May of 2012…

I don't remember exactly what it was like, but when I was going over my credit card statement doing my taxes, Taco Bell, Subway and Domino's were on my credit card statement at least 3 times/week

I up them every work out. Don't be afraid to up by more than 5 lbs. I started squatting 75 and now (near the end of stage 1, about to do my first 8 rep workout) I think I most recently squatted 145.

I wear them because I get callouses if I don't

I'm going to try and address this snarklessly because I don't want to be on the forums all day arguing with people. a) no not everybody's metabolism functions the same. Just because my fiance can eat like a toddler (pizza, pb &j and mac and cheese) in gigantic quantities and not gain weight doesn't mean I can. I agree that…

PS-- take photos too. I found that when I first measured I pulled the tape measure pretty tight so I wouldn't feel bad about myself, and so when I remeasured I had only lost about an inch, but when I took a photo and compared there was a significant difference (see profile pic)

I steadily lost on 1200-1400 for 3 months. Then I had a 6 month plateau. Then I started eating 20% below TDEE (about 1800 for me, but I'm bigger than you) and switched up my workout (went from cardio to weight lifting) and started eating my exercise calories back. Now my weight is slooooooooooowly coming off, but the…

You're only hurting yourself by thinking that way. Take pictures and measurements. Would you be upset if you gained weight if you looked your goal weight? I wouldn't.

I'm 5'8", can I join in the fun?! From the beginning of my journey (May 2012) to January of 2013 From the beginning of my plateau (Aug 2012) to just breaking it (only about 5-10 lbs difference on the scale, but MAJOR difference in size) From the beginning of starting to lift heavy (March 26, 2013) to one month in (April…

As someone who plateaued for a very long time by eating 900-1200., take my word for it, you're hurting yourself, not helping yourself by eating that. Take measurements. Take a couple picture of yourself in a sports bra or tank top or bikini or something, don't worry about how you look, you don't have to show it to anyone.…

If you try and use a "quick fix", as soon as you're "done" you'll gain it all back. Instead of "dieting" consider this a lifestyle change. You are moving towards a healthier lifestyle, and its okay if it happens slowly. I have had times in the past year where I felt like giving up because the scale didn't budge, but then I…

don't go back down. give it a week or two for your metabolism to readjust.

I'm a vegetarian, since I have been heavy lifting my favorite snack is low fat/fat free cottage cheese with vanilla protein powder mixed in and berries. Yes there's carbs but its a big whollop of protein... I'm not sure less g of carbs than protein is really healthy though, I've always heard it should be 40% carbs 30%…

FINALLY, MY DREAMS OF ONE DAY BEING GASTON CAN BE REALIZED!!!!
-
Just an aside: Now I want to start a band called "Lips and Butts". People will think its in reference to brown-nosing, but you will know its about hot dogs. My hotdogs are made of soy lips and butts, but the term "lips and butts and stuff" just made me crack up.

...than what? Eat meat? Eat peanut butter? Drink baby's blood? Guzzle [insert sexual joke here]? The only way I know of to "get my protein" is to eat things that have protein in it.

I have a fitbit so I log it on the Fitbit website, but basically I just subtracted the non-workout day recommended amount from the workout day recommended amount and made a custom exercise with the difference (about 295 for me, but yours will be different based on your calculated TDEE

I said calculate your TDEE. You said she was already eating her TDEE. She says that she wasn't eating the same calorie amount consistently. So yeah, she may have to recalculate her TDEE, seeing as she does not know what it is because if she's maintaining at several different calorie levels, it is still an unknown factor.…

Lift heavy weights. You won't get bulky unless you're one of the few women who have wayyy too much testosterone, or you start taking testosterone.

I was pointing out that he and I were essentially agreeing, the only difference is that I was explaining the rationale behind it and he was just giving an unexplained instruction. It now looks like OP is well-versed in this stuff, so it was unnecessary, but I don't think I'm "wrong" for insisting someone know the logic…

Your body is also probably readjusting your metabolism. While what you're eating now probably is genuinely your TDEE, it make take a few weeks to get back to that-- I was eating like 900-1200 before I started, so it took a minute to readjust to 1800ish (on NON-workout days!) but I've still seen noticeable VISIBLE results…

No one's spazzing out. You know how people get sick of others asking the same questions over and over? Its not inconceivable that someone whose been on say... a three month plateau will read this and say "OH that guy who knows everything says that I should cut 300 calories, so that's what I'll do". It's telling people the…
