Who said 900 calories, and who mentioned no carbs? If she is 200 she can eat 1800 and still be on a deficit. Whole grains have basically no nutritional value compared to something like beef liver or a sweet potato with grass fed butter. Might as well eat raw sugar.

I don't argue. Most people have no clue about it so it's just funny. Yesterday I had a guy tell me I should eat 30 carbs in every meal and 10 grams of protein. No idea where they get this stuff.

I would like to point out that just because something is a fad diet doesn't necessarily make it worthless. Evaluate a diet based on its merits not on how new or popular it is.

Exogenous hormones can really screw you up when it comes to this. You can literally starve to death while being overweight in extreme cases. I would talk to your doctor about it.

You should also consider the fact that in some people, overheating increases the rate they burn calories significantly. Fat mass is regulated by the brain, it isn't like your body has no say in how much fat you're carrying. If you are naturally overweight on your current diet, your body literally wants to be fat.

If you cut out sugar and grains completely, the nutrient density of your food will greatly increase without having to eat maintenance. There are negative health effects to being overweight and pregnant as well

Some people can literally burn off excess calories, they usually do not have huge appetites either. There is a bbc horizon episode on this too. They are also better adapted to consuming sugar grains and industrial seed oils. It is genetic

I think mine is open, I only eat 900/day except for Mondays. . I did screw up and eat a whole pizza Tuesday on accident.

It's less expensive to feed animals grass. No grain needs to be grown to feed ruminants in the first place. If you want to stop that practice, write your government to end the corn subsidies.

I spend that time eating maintenance. I don't want to have to worry about counting calories and you can't do much damage unless you just gorge on everything you see. My suggestion is to enjoy your trip and get back at it when you return.

I didn't lose any pounds off my squat deadlift or bench press, my military press did lose about 8lbs off my max though unfortunately. As long as you eat enough protein(I eat 1.3g/lb of LBM) and lift heavy you can stave off muscle loss on very low calorie diets

I am a 6'2 male and I ate 900kcal/day and went from 200 to 167 in 6 weeks. Starvation mode bs is just that, bs.

Nah it's true, we evolved eating a diet that is basically the same thing every day. When you start adding all this modern variety, it really makes you look forward to eating instead of just seeing it as fuel.
