*Here's my updates: Screen Name: Blondie925 Starting Weight on January 1, 2011: 198.2 Goal weight by January 31, 2011: 188 What is your exercise plan?: Starting Jan. 3, a hybrid of Insanity and Turbo Fire... plus strength training, running, and walking. Are you going to do a specific diet?: No - but I'm going to majorly…

I usually burn anywher from 250-300 on that one. But I do weigh almost 200.. so I'm sure that's the difference. I used to burn a TON doing anything at my highest weight! That's the only good thing about being on the heavy side - calories are much easier to burn. Yesterday evening I got really sick and had a fever, chills,…

Sounds good. I'll try to update daily on this thread how I did with the workouts and eating. Ugh.. I really wanted to be in the 180s by the new year.. but I'm gonna be somewhere in the upper 190s I believe. And.. I'm going to have to reset my ticker. Makes the second time I've had to go from "50 something pounds lost" to…

I decided I'm going to for sure do the cleanse. I just don't know which day I want to start. Doing it through the week would be so much easier than restricting myself so much through the weekend. Right now I'm thinking I'll start next Monday along with this program... or maybe bump it up a day to next Sunday. Also.. I know…

I would also like to join! Interval training is the way to go. It burns more calories and it is much funner! I usually walk/jog for the length of a song and run for that same amount of time alternating til the end. You can always lengthen or shorten either time to fit your needs.
-
Yeah.. I've never done a cleanse of any kind. Maybe 3 days won't kill me. I think I'll give it a go! When are you starting?
-
Sharon - I have Shakeology.. but I don't drink it like I'm supposed to. Maybe I should give it a try. What does the cleanse consist of?

I went from Dec. 6 til tonight not even touching chocolate. My boyfriend and I made some fudge for Christmas.. so I tasted some. But I'm back at it tomorrow. We're giving it all away and I plan on sticking to my guns. I did pretty well this far, not gonna blow it now. Giving up junk for the month sounds like a good idea.…

Well we've both got something to shoot for then! That seems to help me.. My lowest adult weight was 176 and I was pretty happy at that weight. I've been struggling to reach it again for a while. I keep on setting dates and not reaching them. I don't know what my deal has been this past year. Actually I do.. stress! This…

I'm excited about starting this! I always do my weigh ins and measurements on the first of each month.. so i'll use them for this as well. I'm hoping this will help me to reach my goals of getting into the 170s by graduation (May 7). It's right around 20 pounds away. I just need to work on my eating habits. Thank goodness…

Shape is great! I love all the success stories they feature. I think this starting with their next issue they will feature a woman every month in the magazine who is trying to lose weight. They tell of her struggles and how well she is doing.. I love catching up on those. Also, there is usually 2 or 3 more pages of success…

You look great! Awesome job!

I love any DVDs by Chalene Johnson (epecially ChaLean Extreme and TurboFire), Jari Love (gotta second the other poster about the Get Ripped! Series.. they are great), most Jillian Machaels workouts are good.. my faves are Banish Fat Boost Metabolism and 30 Day Shred, I also like Tae-Bo, Insanity, and P90X. I usally rotate…

Nice job. You look great!

ChaLean Extreme isn't dancey at all. It's concentrated on lifting. You go through 3 phases, each phase lasting a month each. You will left weights 3X's per week, each day you work a different set of muscles. Plus, the program comes with 2 days of cardio workouts per week. (I actually added a little more cardio when I did…

I've been wanting to try BBL myself.. just haven't done it yet. So I can't offer you any feeback on that.. but I've done BeachBody's ChaLean Extreme a few times. It's a great program! I don't know if you've heard anything about it.. but the goal is lifting heavy weights - it's perfect for building muscle. The only drawback…

Sounds good! I like Insanity and TF, but I get bored doing the same program day after day. Doing a hybird of those two sounds like a great plan!
-
Good idea.. I need to do this!

I had two finals on friday and I've got 2 more on tuesday then I'll be done for this semester! Only one more to go and I'll have my bachelor's in Business and Public Policy when I graduate in May '11. :) Working out and going to school is tough because I always feel like I need to be working or studying on something.. but…

I've always wanted to grow mine to my elbows... it just doesnt like to grow much longer than it is now (arm-pit length). Is there anything to help it grow longer? I get it trimmed every month and a half to two months to try and keep it has healthy as I can.

Thanks!

You look great! Keep up the amazing work and you'll be there in no time! :)

I used to have the same problem, but like a few other posters noted, I found out that taking more deep breaths was all I needed to do. When you're working out at a high intensity it's easier to forget to breathe as much as you should. But remember, the harder you're working, the more oxygen your body needs!
-
As long as you listen to your body you should be fine. It will tell you if you're overworking it. Just pay close attention to the signals it is giving you. And as above posters said, make sure to stay hydrated and get your rest! Good for you for investing your extra time on your health! (I'm also a senior in college, btw.)
-
I'm the same. Sometimes sleeping/relaxing/whatever SEEMS like it's going to feel so much better than working out. But I have yet to complete a workout and not feel better for doing it. That's what gets me off my butt most of the time! The rest of the time it's knowing the guilt I'll be feeling from not working out. Glad it…

I have the Mint Chocolate Chip, too and I really like it! Now if they would just make chocolate chip cookie dough they would make a fortune off of me alone! lol
