  • The way I see it, I've just lost 36lbs of excellent insulation material - a fat person takes longer to die of hypothermia in cold water than a slim one. That he because they have more insulation. Until my body adjusts, I expect I will feel colder. It will just take a bit of time.
  • The first week or two of calorie restriction, you will always drop more because it is mostly water. I dropped 6.5lb my first week and 3lb in the second. Then it settled down to 2lb/wk for a while. As you lose, it will slow down. Keep going as you are for now and see how it stands in a month or two. Being so young your lose…
  • I have a photo of me from 20 years ago stuck on the fridge. Sad thing is, I was not happy with my weight then but I would be ecstatic now.
  • Mines 44-46 (HRM confirmed with blood pressure test and pulse). Much better than the palpitations in the night I was getting... It's always been pretty low though (when relatively fit).
  • Mine started peeling at the tips after wearing nail polish for the first time in a long long time. So I filed the peely bits at the tip flat with the rest of the nail (so there were no tempting peeling bits to pick at really) and use hand cream to try and keep them less dry. Time will tell.

  • Coffee (smell and taste is hideous) Sweet peppers (gag) Cooked tomato incl. soup, juice, ketchup (raw ones ok, the crunchier the better) Mayo (nasty grease that gives me heartburn) Pickle (just yuk) Pumpkin (tried some pie - yuk) Oreos (just nasty) Olives (gag) Chilli (food should not hurt to eat) Horseradish (gag) Sushi…
  • Polar FT7 with chest strap, 47yo, 213lbs, been doing zumba for a couple of months so not particularly fit and last night I recorded 300kcal in a 45 mins session using Zumba on XBox Kinect - moderate intensity setting.
  • I've heard that as you lose weight, the hormones locked up in the fat cells are released - excess oestrogen swilling about the system might cause some disruption. I'm about to go back down through weight I was when I was going through IVF - that could be interesting.... :/
  • Been using my FT7 in the pool this week and it works perfectly - even in the spa pool...
  • Me at the moment, I get a sudden weight drop the day it starts. Last month I lost 2lb overnight, this month (a few days ago) I dropped 1.6lb. Still feel a bit bloated though, so can't figure that out.
  • I'm in Aberdeen, started mid July and lost 25lbs so far. Got a long way to go though... good luck all!
