  • Last week over 7 days I lost 5.6lbs. It happens every so often, nothing much moving for a couple of weeks then woosh, a whole months worth in one go. Doesn't concern me as it doesn't happen every week - it's most likely hormone related anyway.
  • I'm a little way off now, but I've been wondering about this too. Having a plan helps me so I made one. My plan, go a few lbs below my goal and then slowly increase calories until loss stops. The few lbs gives me some wiggle room during the adjustment process if I overshoot a bit. Well done and good luck!
  • think about animals that live in cold climates - they have a layer of fat (blubber) to help them stay warm. They don't do well in warm places - zoos often have to cool them if it gets warmer than usual. I feel the cold a lot more now than I did last year and I used to suffer in the heat. not so much now.
  • Nope, not me. If I want a beer or an ice-cream I will go have one. Exercise is cycling to and from work not hours down the gym.
  • Cycling to work and back most days has done wonders for my cellulite.
  • I drink it all the time - it's not causing any issues with me. I gave it up early on to see if it helped. Started again after some months and there was absolutely no difference in my loss or the way I felt.
  • I find that if you edit something, it gets put on the bottom of the list when you search for it the next time. Usually it's an instant change.
  • Thanks - time does help though (I know it's a platitude but it is a true one). I've started putting things back together in my life now and the weight loss is a major part of that! :)
  • In my case, not sure what drug it was, but I had to give myself daily shots for the suppression phase, then add in another shot to stimulate - so, 2 shots a day until the HCG trigger. :( I lost the two I conceived from the 2 rounds with donor eggs, and one from my first IVF with my own eggs. It's a very difficult thing to…
  • I did 3 rounds of IVF with my own eggs and 2 rounds with donor eggs, starting at age 36. The first shot basically simulates menopause so be prepared for hot flushes (if you're anything like me). I wasn't trying to lose weight when I was doing IVF so I can't say whether it will help or hinder. You'll just have to play it by…
  • Try it out and see how it goes - see how you feel. Bear in mind the less you have to lose the slower the loss will generally be. Don't give up after a week! If you're starving and going over on calories anyway, then bumping things up a bit should help with that. It's often a mental issue -seeing all those red numbers and…
  • Oh, and at your weight and amount to lose, you should probably be aiming for around 0.5 lb/wk anyway. Finally, eat back your exercise calories!
  • ok - 7 days of your 20% from TDEE calculates out to 2849 calories - it takes ~3500 for 1 lb/wk loss. TDEE takes into account your activity level and very few people are actually sedentary - not even those with desk jobs. What is the TDEE that MFP calculates for you - not the calorie count, the calories burned you see under…
  • My ticker. I look at that and realise I've come too far to waste all that work.
  • I only really try to make sure I hit a reasonable protein level, watch the calories and try to keep salt down. The rest falls as it falls - if I go high on carbs one day, it's usually a lower fat day, and vice versa. Seems to be working for me..
  • I tend to eat afterwards - my exercise is currently cycling to work and home again. I eat breakfast when I arrive at work (no appetite when I first get up), lunch between and then have my dinner when I get home.
  • So SO happy mine are finally shrinking - hated having cartoon sized boobs but I lost everywhere but them until recently. Now they are shrinking to proportional size.
  • Is this what you are looking for? If you have less than 15 lbs to lose 0.5 lbs/week is ideal. If you have 15 -25 lbs to lose 0.5 to 1.0 lbs/week is ideal If you have 25-40 lbs to lose 1 lbs/week is ideal, If you have 40-75 lbs to lose 1.5 lbs/week is ideal, If you have 75+ lbs to lose 2 lbs/week is ideal,
  • MFP will not allocate fewer than 1200 calories a day - whatever you choose to set your desired loss to. Obviously, by setting 2lb/wk loss you would need a deficit too great to maintain than minimum calorie goal. MFP does not take your projected exercise calories into account when setting this goal, so extra exercise will…
  • Same here - slow or no loss during most of the month. First 3-4 days of my bleed I lose around 4lbs (the whole months loss in one go really).
  • Snack smart - my goto snacks - baby carrots, cherry tomatoes, pickled beetroot - basically low calorie but tasty & filling.
  • It's generally right for me - I've been recording it for months now and cross checking. All depends on how I ate on the day - if I had a day where I go over then it gives a wrong (weight too high) 5 week result. On days where I'm on track it is giving me a reasonable 5 week loss value.
  • I have had it - cured it by never going barefoot, wearing shoes with good instep support (I have a high instep) and resting them on the worst days by not standing around too much. Used to be so bad I have been known to crawl on my knees to the bathroom in the morning. Losing weight has helped as sometimes if I stood around…
  • Do you have an item of clothing to aim to fit into? I have some things I kept from the weight I'm aiming for (and which almost fit now), and I kept one of my largest items to try on every so often as a reminder.
  • It gets easier as you go on - motivation for me now is looking at/trying on the one item I kept from my highest weight and seeing how far I've come.
  • Most likely water weight from glycogen refill of muscles. You need to give it more than a day or two - it will probably take 2-3 weeks to settle down.
  • There will be some other losses - blood volume for example will decrease with your size, body water content will also decrease with your size (even if the overall %age increases). Content of your digestive system will also vary. Unless you suffer from osteoporosis, your bone mass should not change over time. Brain - well…
  • I get mine at the moment by cycling in to work and back.
  • Brown means old blood - so it's not exiting as fast, often happens with lighter flow or towards the end of the period. Red is fresh and comes with heavier flow, usually at the start.
  • With a lot of weight to lose I am less strict with logging some stuff (milk in tea for example). I can afford to at the moment. Of course, as I get nearer goal, I will have less wiggle room so I'll have to be more strict.
