Great. One more cookbook now added to my wishlist. Just what I needed. Also thanks for turning me onto another vegan food blog. I am never going to get anything done at work!! :)

What is "cheating"? Going over your daily calories? Or eating certain foods? Not really sure what your definition is... I aim to stay at my daily calorie allowance everyday. You can earn as many extra calories as you need through exercise so there really isn't ever a reason to go over (not saying that I've never gone over,…

Agreed with above! There is no such thing!! Just keep at it and you will be shocked at what you can do in nine weeks! C25k will change your life! Side note: I had shin splints when I started, they went away after week 2.

I am planning on a sprint triathlon next August. It will be my first. This site was recommended to me in another post: http://beginnertriathlete.com/ Happy training!

Last night my family of four had Sesame Greens over quinoa with fresh apples. Cost: Swiss Chard $2.00, 1T olive oil $0.22, 2 tsp vinegar $0.13, 2 tsp agave nectar $0.16, 2 T sesame seeds $0.15, 1 cup organic dry Quinoa $1.66, Sea Salt $0.02, 3 Apples $2 (I didn't have one because I was full) Total meal cost $6.34, per…

Personally I'd just stick to the training plan as is and run the 5K when it comes. Just because you'll still have one or two workouts left won't make too much of a difference. Even in my 10K training I never run more than every other day. My body needs time to recuperate so I don't injure myself and (gasp) have to stop…

I'm thinking about the Syracuse, NY Iron Girl in August 2013. Might be a stretch but I think I can do it!

Winner!

I started out not being able to run for 10 seconds. Couch to 5K changed everything for me!! I am now training for a 10K and run 12-15 miles a week. BEST PROGRAM EVER.

As usual, my friend here took the words out of my mouth. I was a "switch-flipped" vegan and have loved everyday since. I dove headfirst into cooking and make more varied and delicious meals now than I ever did before. I agree with others who say not to focus on what you can't eat but instead on all the wonderful things you…

Yes!! Love them! Can't wait to see the next season!

I always took the rest days in between runs during C25K. My biggest concern was injury. I too LOVED running and the thought of getting hurt and not being able to keep going made me cautious. Now I am looking at 10K training plans and some have consecutive running days and some don't. All of them have at least 2 rest days a…

I just did Week 8/ Day 2 this AM and I love not doing intervals anymore. Just me running. An amazing feeling.

Impressive!!

I start Week 7 tomorrow. Love, love, love C25K. I swear it will turn anyone into a runner!

Almond milk, coconut milk yogurt, beans, nuts, the occasional Luna bar, greens and even whole grain products like whole wheat bread and corn tortillas. It seems to add up. Some days I'm under, but most days I am right on track.

^^This!! I'm almost finished with Week 6 C25K and am ready to tackle my 1st 5K this month. I can't believe how awesome running makes you feel!

It's been three months since I went dairy free and I never felt better! All of my sinus issues have vanished, the inflammation in my shoulder has gone away and I just feel good!! It has been really easy for me since there are so many great non-dairy cooking blogs out there. Try it and see how it works for you. What do you…

Vegetarian for 25 years, now finally vegan:) I too didn't make the connection between dairy, eggs and animal abuse. I wasn't an active vegetarian, meaning I wasn't out reading veggie books/literature, attending conferences, etc. so somehow all of that information escaped me. I thought I was OK buying cage-free eggs and…

I've definitely gotten some positive questions about it from friends and I always focus discussion on how much better I feel, how easy it has been, and all the great cooking resources I have found. I've gotten several "I should try that" comments but I don't know of any that have given it a go for sure. Congrats on your…

Hi and welcome! There are some vegetarian/vegan groups here on MFP. Feel free to join them and find other members with similar goals. Just go to the community tab and then groups and search on vegetarian.

Actually the Vitamin D in dairy is just a supplement added to it and you can take that separately if you choose. Source:http://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/VitaminD-HealthProfessional/ Also much of the calcium in mass-produced dairy comes from calcium-supplemented commercial feed given to the cows, so it too is similar to…

I am doing Dirty Girl in NY in September.

I just logged my 1st TG workout. I created an exercise and called it cardio although it's more strength (I just like when it posts to my feed!). Truthfully I wasn't concerned about the calories part so I think I gave it a 2.5cal/min rate which was totally random, an HRM would be your best bet if you have one.

Mine has been sitting in my bedroom, holding folded clothes that need to be put away, pretty much since we bought it 6 years ago. Just put it back into action and am doing the starter program for the next few days before I move on to the beginner program. I think it works great and I love how smooth and sturdy it feels.…

I've been vegan for a couple months, and vegetarian for 25 years before that. Personally I feel great and have no desire to consume animal flesh or secretions again. My reasons were mainly ethical but health was a factor as well. I have always had awful sinus allergies that lead to infections several times a year. Doctors…

Rich Roll has a new book out that might have more detailed info for higher protein intakes. http://www.richroll.com/ Also here is a site (http://www.greatveganathletes.com/) that list all sorts of vegan athletes and body builders. Some may have books/articles for you on that topic. I'm probably taking the bait here, but…

^^^veggies dogs are AWFUL grilled, they do best for short time in the microwave ( 20-30 seconds) or maybe heated in a pan quickly.

Sweets or not? I made this delicious cookie pie for my kids the other day ( they had no idea the secret ingredient!) http://chocolatecoveredkatie.com/2011/05/31/deep-dish-cookie-pie/ Also the Peas and Thank You Blog is a vegan family blog. Here is a link to it's recipe index. http://peasandthankyou.com/recipage/
