Thanks, lauraniwa. Have never heard of this before, will have a look at what this is.

Agreed - really have had enough of BMI. However it keeps being dragged up because of various medical things, gym, etc. So just trying to find out what is best for me, but not sure which I should settle with - 'approved' weight or 'approved' size.

I did have a good amount of upper leg muscle, not immediately visible (well, certainly isn't now!), but it was there. I didn't do sports, but walked a lot and was fairly active. Upper body, OTOH not so much, thanks to shoulder surgery, so had been told I couldn't lift weights. Paying for that now, stupid flabby arms...…

Good luck! Hope tomorrow goes great for you

Looove avocado. Good for lowering cholesterol.

- Black pepper. If it's savoury, it's going in... - Salt. A little goes a looong way. Even in sweet foods (porridge, baked good, etc.) Takes away some of the sickly/bland flavour. - Cinnamon. Awesome stuff. Great in porridge. Supposed to help with sugar levels too! - Garlic. Looove garlic - Chinese Fivespice. Love this…

Mmm... McD's. Love a quarter pounder with cheese every so often. That said, am I the only one that doesn't think their food is as filling as it used to be? Nothing wrong with a little of what you like. The key is moderation. ... Damn, now I want a cheeseburger... :ohwell:

Agreed! You only need a very small amount - a little goes a long way, but really does take the bland taste away. True for most sweet things, IMO...

^^ This. Or maybe a few chocolate/peanut butter drops just to liven things up a bit. Or berries (raspberries are good, mmm...)

I find ginger really helps. That, and peppermint. Maybe one of these in tea, little sips at a time?
-
Agreed! Also very much liking Nathan Fillion...

I have rheumatoid arthritis. If I go against what my body tells me, I pay for it big time. Listen to your body. If you absolutely 'must exercise', try and work all the other body groups that aren't currently effected, just don't push it. You can exercise properly again when you're healed. Don't let yourself get to the…

I've had this too. Don't get me wrong - it doesn't really bother me, per se, just thought it was strange that very few had said anything about it. Finally last week a girl I work asked me where half of me had gone and if I were dieting. After we got to talking, another girl joined the conversation. She said she had noticed…

^^ This! Sugar free jelly is a godsend. I buy pots of Hartley's sugar free jelly here (UK) and keep them in the fridge. I have a sweet tooth, so really helps when I need something sweet and is refreshing after a work out. Between 3 and 8 calories per pot (depending on flavour).

The joys of being human... We all do it! Just pick up where you left off - nobody is judging you x

I'm 28th October too! Just two of us so far...

First thing on Sunday morning after using the bathroom before breakfast. Au naturel.

As above, any weight training would be good. As far as protien, it can't hurt to go over a little in your allowance, I've found in my case. Make it lean if possible. Chicken is my favourite - some for dinner, any leftovers go great with salad, a sandwich or a small snack/treat.

Nathan Fillion. Yep. Johnny Depp is pretty damn gorgeous too...

I've found if you're a person to need a full plate of food, as well as being a person who must empty their plate that using a much smaller plate works. Am finding it much easier to deal with portion sizes that way because I still find it difficult to leave uneaten food. Either that, or portion the meal up and leave for…

If I were close to the person, I probably wouldn't be too offended. I would want to ask them why they wanted to know though...

Meat. Bacon... Mmm...
-
Oooh. Wouldn't like my chances of finding that to buy anywhere near me, but would so give that a try. Mmm... Bacon ice cream with maple syrup swirl... *drools*

Hmmm... Had never actually thought about eating the skin... I guess it's the same with mangos - few people bother eating the skin, which I do (as long as it's quite ripe). Will give it a go next time since kiwi peeling is a PITA and pretty messy. If I can eat it without peeling, that's great!

Also, are monitoring your sugar intake, etc?

I'm from London, UK

If I'm in a rush, I log it after. If it's new foods or a new recipe, I normally have items to scan and check on the database, so will likely do it before. That way, I can plan alterations to my recipes to keep with my calories for that day. Also helps me decide if I really do want that dessert...

I use the Arc trainer too. Excellent (and exhausting!) exercise - can really feel the burn after a while!

For right now, I'm not comfortable in my own skin. As a kid/teen, I was pretty skinny. There was around a year where I felt I was 'the right shape and figure', but needless to say it passed me by so fast. I don't want to go back to as skinny as I was, but I'm very aware feeling the difference. And I hate it. I hate buying…
