  • i saw it on Dr Oz. It didn't seem any different from any other highly advertised supplement. Initially bigger people lose weight faster. But they don't tell you that. They don't tell you the losses slow down over the next week or so. And the big claims, Six pounds! One week! A dress size in Five days! They don't say this…
  • It looks like a typical loss. Fast at first. As you lose weight, your body requires fewer calories. It works out to a consistent 1.4 pounds a week. Which is not overdoing it. And is awesome dedication.
  • Like someone else hinted at, If it isn't on your desk it isn't yours. Teach yourself not to touch it. Never let anyone else put food on your desk. You'll do fine. You Choose your own food.
  • Super loss! The second half is always harder. The blush is off the rose. The novelty has worn off a bit. And the first pounds do go off easier. Partly because you drop a fair bit of water weight. Leveling out your micros, macros, vitamins minerals etc. Makes you feel better. Sad, but true you get used to feeling that way.…
  • A lot of the time a high carb snack puts off hunger 'til morning. Something like 300 or so calories of cereal with milk.
  • ^^ This : Once a week a small bag won't hurt. And just may keep you from breaking out and bingeing on a jumbo sized bag or worse.
  • Do you watch TV? Walk in place while you watch. Exercise bands and a yoga mat can be used to do almost anything. Can't go outside? Can't afford a gym membership? Nothing is close enough? All that can be overcome with a little ingenuity and determination. It has worked for me for a long time. That's mostly what I do. You're…
  • Congratulations on your new baby! It's possible you are eating too few calories. Perhaps up them by a couple of hundred or so for a week and see what happens. It always sounds counterproductive but so often works for a lot of people. Maybe take a look at your diary and check the quality of your choices. That can be an…
  • Sorry you got hit by Sandy. One week can't possibly 'ruin' all your hard work. Unless you eat all day every day. If you can't do your usual workout, you can at least set yourself a walking program indoors. There's not much that can't be done at home with a yoga mat and an exercise band. There are lots of walking videos…
  • They say don't eat at night because by that time most people have had all they need for that day. If you stay within your daily calorie needs, you won't gain. Late night eating can cause sleep disturbances as your body is busy trying to digest. People who eat in the middle of the night often don't count those calories.
  • Liquids in a measuring cup. Dry foods on a scale.
  • Cindy! Great job. So motivating. Thanks for sharing. And being part of MFP too.
  • Superb! It's things like that, that keep us going. Well done!
  • Your waist size is mostly determined by genetics. Depending on body type. It could be anywhere from 22- 36 or whatever. The lowest mine has ever been since puberty when I was fit and younger (lots younger) is 32. Even at that age I never had a difference of more than a couple of inches in any of my measurements. Bust Waist…
  • If you can't walk out side you can walk inside. There are lots of walking videos on YouTube. I walk while I watch TV. All you need is a cushioned floor. There's almost nothing you can't do with a yoga mat and exercise bands. I can't keep sweet stuff in the house. If I want something I go get a small single pack of…
  • Ditto. That's a Major NSV. Congratulations!
  • Until it's mostly digested. You can google that sort of thing. If you exercise too soon you'll just throw it up. Waste of good steak? There are lots of suggestions for foods to eat before exercise. Steak is an 'after' food.
  • A better place for unwanted unopened food is a food bank. and  buying smaller packs will turn out to be cheaper, because you were eating Whole larger packages before.
  • Yes an egg. You can add a whole lot of low cal, filling veggies to an omelette, or scramble. One piece of whole grain toast.
  • I also have a lot of foods I can't eat due to textural issues.
  • There's a lot you can do at home with a yoga mat and some exercise bands. Indoor walking videos are good exercise. Learn to read grocery flyers. It can make a big difference in what you pay week per week.
  • How much a week do you have to spend on groceries? I spend $40 a week. I don't live near any discount 'big box' stores, and coupons here are minimal. It's all regular grocery stores. $10 a week on produce. $4 on milk. $4 on bread. The rest carefully on meat, cheese, eggs, fish. Then oatmeal and pastas, a few canned goods.…
  • I googled this guy. He has been a hight profile trainer. I couldn't find any real credentials. He could very well be self taught. Not that there's any thing wrong with that. But a fair bit of what he says might just be his opinion. Even experts are not always right. It's like any program. It works if you stick to it. You…
  • Even with family I only go to functions where I feel comfortable. I 'd only see my Dad if we could meet just the two of us, and spend some time together. If you go to the birthday, how much time will you be spending with your Dad anyway? Take your own feelings in to account. Those who try to please everyone, end up…
  • Onions, garlic, peppers of Any kind. Herbs ,seasonings, spices of Any kind.
  • It's a learning process. You haven't been doing it very long. You need to learn from somewhere, what are good foods for you. Or even, what are good foods. Some people don't know. What did you eat before? Is this a major change for you? If you're making a lot of changes, it will be harder. Perhaps see a nutritionist, or…
  • Partly demonized because the ONLY reason we eat sugar is because we like it. Our bodies don't Need us to eat sugar to survive. Sweet things just Taste good. The more you like something. the more you want it.
  • General consensus is. Eat All MFP allots you. Always. Exercise calories are eaten if you're hungry. Or feel it's necessary. You are still eating your 1330. The other is personal, you do whatever works for you.
  • Could be any number of reasons. With a hidden diary and no info on your profile, it's pretty hard to make a comment. Lots of people only ever lose .5 pounds a week. And yes it could possibly be your nutrients are misaligned. Lack of exercise? Too many calories? Lack of calories? How much do you weigh compared to how much…
  • Each weight watchers 'point' is about fifty calories. that's the Only difference with their system.
