  • An English muffin with an egg and a fifth of an avocado on it. Would have loved some cheese, but unfortunately couldn't find any floating around.
  • I've done it-- processed sugar, that is. (Still ate fruit, the occasional honey, etc.) I gave it up during Lent last year, for 6 weeks when I was training for a half this fall, and during November. The first 2 or 3 weeks every time are awful-- withdrawal headaches, etc. But after that, I feel so great.
  • I'm already signed up for a 10 miler in April. Goal is 90 minutes. As of now... that's my only goal. Maybe I'll do another half with a goal of 2:00 (did my first without really training for it this fall and finished in about 2:18).
  • I hit 500. Compared to a lot of you, that's nothing. I've been running sporadically for basically my entire life, and this is the first time I've really decided I wanted to stick with it. However, I spent the summer out of the country and ran maybe 30 miles between June and August. However, throwing walking and hiking in…
  • I've been struggling with a multitude of knee-related disorders/injuries for about 8 years now. What I would do is ease off on the running and focus on building strength (shoot me a message and I can send you some good exercises-- I spent a year and a half in physical therapy and went from being almost unable to walk to a…
  • I do alright. Usually finals week means no exercise, as well as one or two other weeks each semester. But that aside, I don't have any problems eating well, getting ample sleep, exercise, etc. You just have to make it a priority.
  • I'm tall and skinny and still can't buy clothes. There is nothing for either extreme.
  • Do them the same day. Kind of sucks if you're like me and don't like taking days off, but that's usually my game plan-- run to the gym, lift, run home after.
  • One thing I've found works for me is just... don't buy the desserts to keep at home. I'm not totally deprived because I'm allowed to go out for ice cream, etc., but I don't find myself eating handfuls of M&Ms while studying at home.
  • God I'm jealous. 5'10 and struggling to lose on 1500.
  • There are benefits to lifting weights all the time. The reason people say to wait until you're at the end of your weight loss journey is because, in order to put on significant muscle mass, you need to eat in surplus. So, you won't see huge improvements (in terms of hypertrophy, strength gains, etc.) if you're still…
  • Monthly?! I hit the grocery store 2-3 times a week. Staples that I always have: apples bananas avocados zucchini bell peppers onion mushrooms baby carrots hummus peanut butter brown rice eggs cashews or almonds goat cheese beans (black and I also love the 16 bean soup mixes that you can get for like $1) If I want a treat:…
  • I've been a vegetarian for 6 years, but I have so much respect for anyone able to keep up a vegan diet! That said, I do eat a lot of mostly vegan meals (a lot of the time there's a small amount of cheese, but that's it), so feel free to add me for inspiration.

  • Graduating in the spring (gulp). Feel free to add me.
  • hahaha yup. I just hit 100 pounds, but my goal is to get that as heavy as possible.
  • It really depends on what your goal is. If your goal is strength, there are going to be fewer reps per set (somewhere around 5), but the weights you lift are going to be a lot heavier. If you just want to tone, you're going to use lighter weights and do more reps (upwards of 15).
  • It is unrealistic to think that I'm not going to snack, so I try to pre-log all of my meals AND snacks for the day. Especially my go-to snacks that I pretty much have every day (apple, carrots/hummus, piece of chocolate). It helps me keep on track.
  • A 5 minute mile is tough even for people who ARE runners. I haven't personally run a timed mile in a few years, but I could probably break 7 minutes these days. I prefer distance to speed, though. Good luck!
  • With the exception of a 4 day camping trip every summer and 2 months abroad this past summer, I have logged every day for 2.5 years. I tend to eat a lot of the same meals, so it isn't all that difficult to measure out and record a lot of the things that I eat.
  • I'm 5'10, somewhere between 140 and 150 pounds. I usually run 4 times a week, lift 2 or 3 (depending on my schedule). I eat 1500, but that's my NET. So I eat back all of my exercise calories. So I usually end up eating around 1900 calories per day.
  • I miss horses. I rode constantly until I went to college 3 years ago (eventing, but more dressage than anything). Of course, I never gained any weight until college-- which I attribute partly to not doing work in the barn every day.
  • This is impressive. I've been running for two years and only reached the point where I could sustain a 9 minute pace for an hour in August.
  • I also eat 1500-2000 calories per day. I like to think I'm 90% clean, although these days, that probably isn't true (home with my family for the holidays, so I'm not cooking all of my meals, like I usually do). Still, I eat a primarily veggie-based diet. Feel free to add me!
  • I also have an incredibly unhealthy relationship with food. For pride (?) reasons, I've been avoiding going to see someone professional about it for several years now. I think it's about trying different things until you find what works. For me, I don't buy unhealthy food to keep around the house anymore. If I want a…
  • I'm just shy of 5'10 and my goal is somewhere around 140. I've always had a pretty small frame though.
  • I usually prelog the night before things like breakfast, if I have lunch plans, a few "go to" snacks, etc. Then I change them throughout the day as I see fit. Sometimes, for example, if I know I'm going out to dinner but don't know what I'll have, I'll prelog a giant bowl of spaghetti for dinner and assume that whatever I…
  • I'm 20 and with the exception of desserts (lol) I usually eat really really really well (lots of fruits and veggies, almost all natural). Feel free to add me!
  • Anything. Bananas. Natural peanut butter. Mushrooms. Avocado.
  • "Low fat" usually means "messed with." AKA not real food. I try to eat as clean as possible. My favorite foods are fats (eggs, nuts, avocados, EVOO, cheese). Fat doesn't mean fat.
  • I don't know much about HRMs but I know a lot about riding. It's definitely a workout-- especially if your horse is on the greener side (and especially if you're doing sitting trot with no stirrups ughhhh). (This is why you always lose weight after horse show weekends! Of course, that also involves walking everywhere and…
