  • I went swimming 3 days this week for about an hour each time (longer really, but that's what I logged because I wasn't active the whole time since trying to teach my 6 year old daughter to swim without floaties).... I am down 3 pounds this week! I don't like to swim above water though. I wear eye covering goggles because I…
  • ^ This. (my feelings exactly) :flowerforyou: Congrats!
  • ^ This. I am sitting here, killing time when I should get up and clean. I don't log when it's just dishes, laundry, etc. Normal things that you do on a daily basis. But I DO LOG when it's DEEP CLEANING. Up and down the stairs several times, squatting, bending, pushing, stretching, etc. And ya know what? Later that night…
  • I don't know the age of your students, but I will say this.... I teach Kindergarten currently. I have taught 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th as well in the past. In *MY EXPERIENCE* the "little" kids in K-2 don't really understand what it means to be on a "diet." So explaining to young students isn't going to stop future goodies.…
  • I have the SAME ISSUE. Kids love to bring us goodies, don't they? When I get goodies, I tell my students thank you and how much I love whatever it is (even if I really don't) and remind them that the *BEST* gift they can ever give me or any other teacher they have is a smile, a hug, and their best behavior. This also helps…
  • My fave is the chicken carbonara (sp?) with asparagus. Mmmmm.
  • Good attitude! Like you, I have been half-a$$ing this since mid-November. I started at 198 in June 2012 and by mid-Nov was 169.5 I am now 187.5 :explode: It's all my own fault and I own it. But I am trying to turn this train around!! Good luck!! You can do it!! :flowerforyou:
  • Curious why you call it a "diet" rather than a way of living or healthy lifestyle. Also, why you would still be "dieting" if you are at goal?
  • That's awesome! I myself have always wanted to become a runner, but I find it SO difficult on the treadmill. I'm also WAAAAY to self-conscious and nervous to go out and do it on my own on the streets or at the park. :frown: I wish I could get over that. I wish I were brave. I wish I didn't worry so much what other people…
  • :flowerforyou: Thank you everyone. And, MsAnn, thank you!! Nobody can understand quite as much as another teacher, a colleague. Last year when I fought for the boy I suspected had learning disabilities the school Psychologist thought I was nuts. He refused to test him... preferring to wait until the child was in 1st grade.…
  • Oops.... B.A.B.I.F
  • Should Weigh It In Grams
  • Never posted a pic before, hope this works...
  • Like a few others who posted, I can't stand the smell of eggs. BUT, I agree with the poster who said that it's her problem. I believe it is MY problem. That the smell bothers me so terribly, I mean. I would NEVER tell anyone cooking or heating up eggs that it bothers me just as I would NEVER tell anyone about fish either.…
  • Wow! wOw! woW! :flowerforyou: I LOVED reading your story. I am so glad you shared it. Keep swimming and enjoying life!! What an inspiration.
  • I just have to say... I have been fat since I was about 10 or 11 years old and losing weight has ALWAYS been hard for me. I've had my moments... In college I got "down" to my lowest adult weight: 165 (still too big being 5'3"). After my son was born I joined WW and dropped 30 pounds, but was still in my 170's. For me, the…
  • I think the people saying this shape is created by wearing your pants too tight either A) don't REALLY have a "B" shape or B) are smokin somethin funny. :noway: I have had the dreaded B shape since before I was even fat. I mean, well, I was considered fat in 4th grade and on up, but I recall hating the way my stomach…
  • I know this is an old thread, but I was desperately searching for before/during/after pictures of women shaped like me. I didn't know what to call it.... I searched "belly crease," "tummy crease," "stomach crease," "inverted belly," etc. LOL. Glad to have a name for it, B... makes perfect sense. Like someone else who…
  • Wow. You are an inspiration. My before (which sadly is STILL my current) story is very similar to yours.... I keep plodding along, falling off here and there along the way, but getting back up and trying again anyways. I hope one day I can find my faith in myself and have success like you. Way to go!! :flowerforyou: Thank…
  • I love your attitude and the way you handled the situation. You are ah-mazing! Friend request sent. :flowerforyou:
  • Opposite problem here and jealous. Yep, I'm too fat for my boobs. As I type I am wearing a 36B. The band is comfy but the cup is way too big. :grumble: My most comfortable bra is a 38A but I had to order it online. It's hard enough to find 36A's in the store, let alone anything bigger.
  • :flowerforyou: I needed to hear this!!!
  • Good luck!! I only WISH I could take some of yours. :flowerforyou: LOL. (38A, have to buy them online because most big women have big boobs) I have always felt like a freak of a nature in that sense. Am I comin' or goin' hmm....hard to say. LOL. Ugh.
  • I can relate. I was just saying that I love reading up on the success boards....but....at the same time, I feel like they have figured something out that I haven't. Maybe that something is something really easy and small, maybe it's something really difficult and big.... whatever it is, I haven't figured it out yet. I have…
  • Woot, woot, I just tried the 27 minute beginners Zumba link you posted. I did it for a total of 18 minutes. I feel great. It's fun. I think I'm gonna really be able to stick with this. So glad I found this link. Thanks again for posting!! Now, if only I could get rid of this "white girl" rhythm....which means NO RHYTHM.…
  • Marking my spot for the Zumba links!! Yay. Been wanting to try it. I know a woman who lost 50 pounds doing one hour of Zumba daily and watching her intake. Thank you! :flowerforyou:
  • Wow!! You are amazing!! :blushing: My husband and I tried Insanity. We did the Fit Test which we sucked miserably at and then did the day 1 workout and gave up. It's sooooooo hard. We restarted about three times, giving up each time. :grumble: How much weight (as in pounds on the scale) did you lose doing Insanity? From…
